When I’m at the mall, 9 times out of 10, this is the place I will go to to grab a bite to eat. I don’t think that there is really anything Cajun or N’awlins about it, but the food is edible and consistent. The exception to that is the cornbread, but I haven’t had a bad piece of that in a long time. It’s actually been somewhat sweet and moist the last few times I’ve had it. I wish it were a little bit more of both, but it’s mall food. I feel lucky to get it as is. I’ve only ever had the bourbon chicken because to me, it is just that good. It’s on the sweet side, but not overly so. They always ask if I want extra sauce and I say yes. Trust me, you want the extra sauce; the dish will seem a little dry without it. I have mixed it up between the noodles, white rice and jambalaya though, and I have to say that the jambalaya wins. It’s an additional $.69. I usually do 2 sides: mashed potatoes and corn but, I recently found out that you can get cornbread as a side. Cool, because that actually saves you a little bit of money over ordering one side and then a piece of cornbread. I think the gravy for the potatoes is very similar, if not the same, as the sauce for the chicken. It has a little tang to it, but in a good way. I can’t get enough of it. Gourmet? No. Good enough to fill you up while you power shop? You bet. 6÷2016÷243

As shopping mall fast food goes, Cajun Big Easy is at the top of their game. Their signature«Bourbon Chicken» is outstanding. I also really appreciate the fact that they always have a number of(side) vegetable choices that are prepared simply but professionally; not over cooked and NOT over salted, which is so common with fast food locations in malls, a la Chinese and Italian fast food take-outs.

This was terrible! I ordered the bourbon chicken with rice and 2 sides, which I have gotten before and it was decent. Not this time! The quality of the chicken was pretty bad even considering the fact that it’s mall food, the cornbread was burnt, and the mac and cheese was disgusting. The cold top layer tasted average-to-strange, but when you broke through the cold barrier and into the mushy molten center, it tasted like sour milk and dirty dish water. I guess the rice was decent, but that’s pretty hard to mess up, and the cornbread was also edible after ripping off the extremely burnt bottom layer. I won’t be back.

Meh! Mall food. Glazed chicken, jambalaya rice and Mac cheese This pretty mediocre lunch. The chicken was very sweet. The food was at least hot. If you can’t eat before you get to the mall and you’re hungry give it a shot. Just don’t expect miracles.
