This is a delightful little mom & pop shop. That is, both mom & pop are barbers and hair stylists. The décor is down to earth (think — «not spa») and the prices reflect that. You are likely to find the owners’ (very well mannered!) children there, too. Yes, they cut women’s hair! Call ahead, or just drop in. For the price, perfect.

I had my hair cut by Phil, who is really nice and does a good job. It’s a small barbershop and they do take appointments, but I walked in on a Saturday and I didn’t have to wait for more than a few minutes. This place is pretty convenient to get to as well — close by to UW-M, on the Green Line bus route, and has both street and lot parking nearby. For $ 10, I can’t say I could do much better!

Both Phil and Kesha are real friendly and do a great job every time I came in for a simple men’s hair cut. Only $ 10. They recently re-did the interior of the place, so it looks new and fresh. I went there every month when I lived in Milwaukee for a year. Also, they’re across the street from Otto’s liquor store, so you can knock two trips out in one! I can’t speak to other hair needs, never needed anything complicated for my hair, but they’re great at what they did for me and I’d go again and again if I didn’t move away.

I must say that I hate to have my haircut, I just don’t see the point of paying a lot of money when dudes get 3 types of hair cuts, buzzed, short, or long. Therefore I never want to pay more that $ 10 for a haircut thus I found Be U. It is a small place couple of chairs, and sat right down and had my cut. Didn’t take long, the guy was nice, and the cost was right. Overall I’m a fan of Be U for the classic dude cuts, for a good price.
