They were probably having a bad night, but that shouldn’t really matter to the paying customer. Just an all around unpleasant dinner. Food was ehhh, ok. Waitress in blue jeans spoke poor English and couldn’t take food orders well at all. Entrees were bad, but plain pizza was under cooked and just okay. I won’t go again…

Excellent beer and pizza. They are a microbrewery and also have very nice Italian food. Service staff is friendly.

A restaurant I will jump at to dine with the mere mention of its name. Chicken Piccata: Succulent veggies, delicate wine sauce, garlic, capers – old world flavors in Lewisburg, PA. And the beer and wine selections are to be applauded. The waitstaff even sang happy birthday to my wife. You won’t be disappointed.

Decided to give it another shot. Walked up to the front door and saw a sign that said, «Closed early due to weather.» However, the door was open so we went in. No one was in the lobby seating anyone. We waited over 5 minutes and walked out. I called to see if they were indeed open and the lady that answered ensured me they were. She stated there wasn’t a host/ess during lunch but there wasn’t a sign that directed customers; nor a sign that stated such thing. Strike 2.

Ok. Time moves on and sometimes things improve. Well let’s say this place has. Got talked into giving them another try the last Friday in November and what a difference. They have a special running now on Fridays any pasta with choice of 3, lobster tail, clams, mussels, shrimp, etc. I went all lobster in a fradiavlo(sp?) sauce. One of the best meals I have had locally in a very long time. The owner was in the kitchen and I did hear that was key. Price of this weekly special? $ 20 What a great deal. Reasonably priced wine. Great experience. I will be back. Forgot to mention the beer. It is not brewed on location anymore and is being done by another local brewer.

This place is mortifying! I like to give restaurants multiple tries before I «write them off»; this was my last try. Service is incredibly slow and unattentive. My husband and I both ordered dinners, which included bread that we never received. My pasta was room temperature at best and the vodka sauce was the most unappetizing concoction I’ve every tasted. My husband order a scallop dish and equated the texture to gummy bears. Needless to say this review is being written from the parking lot of McDonald’s(which is not normally my style). To top it all off, the waitress cleared our uneaten plates(about ¾ left of each meal) without ever asking if there was an issue. After shelling out $ 50+, I don’t expect to find myself at a fast food joint afterwards. Do yourself a favor and go to La Primavera in Lewisburg.

Came for the«award winning» brews from one of the previous posts… They don’t make beer anymore, they had one«house» Hefeweizen that wasn’t very good, two waitresses and what appeared to be the owner were running from table to table… But there weren’t a ton of people here and we still waited for our food. Ordered the spinach chicken pizza came out Luke warm… Not impressed

On a brew-pub tour of the Susquehanna Valley with several friends in October 2012, we went here for supper. We had a moderately large group(order of ten persons), but, despite it being Saturday night, we were seated promptly. Although I don’t recall what exactly I ate for supper, I do recall that the portion sizes relative to price were very reasonable. I tried one of their samplers. The quality of the brews was average to above average. However, the more remarkable thing about the sampler was that it actually made me a bit drunk; as I have a fairly high tolerance to alcohol, usually, samplers don’t do that to me. Recommended.

Charming environment, including an outdoor bar, but service isn’t on par with the creative elements of the building. If you’re looking to ‘party and enjoy a few spirits’ with a large group of friends; I’d recommend you look else where. The layout is a bit awkward as you will navigate a few hallways before actually reaching your dining area, but a host located at the front door will lead the way. Luckily we were attending an event and were directed to their ‘banquet’ hall or patio for drinks before the event started. It’s a nice enough restaurant with a strong Italian theme; the food was good enough, for being prepared for a large group of people, but it wasn’t anything that would blow you away. Our night was pleasant enough, until the ‘owner’ of the establishment planted himself behind the bar in the patio area. My friend and I were running a tab and had rung up over 100 $ in drinks; which was our way of inviting our friends to have a good time as we would occasionally buy a round for the group we were hanging with. 10:30 p.m. rolls around and we approach for another round of drinks only to witness a few whispers between the owner and the bartender who returned to inform us that we had been ‘cut off’ from any more ‘hard liquor’. She could however gladly continue to serve us beer… which was ‘free’ for our group.(BC beer never leads to anyone over drinking?) It being a party, our DJ had us heating the place up with our ‘awesome’ white-boy dance moves; so obviously my first layer(shirt; I was wearing a tank underneath) needed to come off as it was soaked with sweat(ew; I know). In no way were we overly intoxicated, rowdy, mean, ignorant, or showing any signs that we were abusing the alcohol we had consumed… So naturally, we were a bit perplexed and irritated by the bartenders limitation. We closed out tab and offered no tip, which is a shame, because I’m overly fair with tipping my bartenders(min. 20%) and before the incident she was pleasant to deal with. We explained to the host of the party what happened, and the news of the cut off spread like wild-fire, which had a few of our fellow guests scratching their heads enough to approach the owner to get more information. He stated ‘I cut them off because we didn’t know if they had a designated driver’. OK; fair enough… so logically one might ask these questions before making any assumptions, right… Moments later, the owner approached us, stating if we had a designated driver he’d continue to serve us(we did BTW; not to mention it was ONLY10:30 and Pennsylvania bars are open until 2 a.m.). However, by then we decided our money was obviously no longer acceptable there and refused to give him anymore business; and left promptly after. If his goal was to keep us from ‘drunk driving’ he would have failed had I been drunk. Anyone else actually being drunk and being cut off would have left in a huff and most likely caused a serious incident on the roads. I’m fairly certain we were profiled and cut off because what white guy makes a fool of himself dancing; unless he’s drunk; right?.. Will we ever venture back here again? Not in this lifetime.

Food is good. Service is awful. Second time there and will not return. Wine did not arrive at table until we were half way through our entrée! They told us they needed to find glasses!

My husband and I have been here on Wednesdays and Thursdays for their dinner specials. On Wednesdays, they have an Italian dinner special where you can get bread, salad, appetizer chosen by the chef, and two entrees and two drinks(wine and beer included) for around $ 20. The food has been great each time we’ve been on a Wednesday and we love that a beer or a glass of wine is included in the special! On Thursdays, they have a pizza special for half price pizzas. The Thursday we went there was a band. Thursdays are very crowded since their pizzas are good and cheap! We recommend for those two nights!

The River House brewed beer is amazing and fresh. If you don’t care for a fresh brewed beer there are several great local, and not so local, beers on tap and a full bar. The pizza menu is 2.5 pages long and is the best pizza you’ll find for at least 40 miles around. Highly recommended. The regular menu is fresh home made Italian fare prepared by renown owner and chef Larry Mancino. Try the mussels when available. Excellent. With summer fast approaching there is a patio area with table service and a newly remodeled bar. This would be perfect for a private party all you would need to add is a DJ.

The building doesn’t really fit as a Brew Pub. From the outside it looks like a fine dinning Italian restaurant. The inside is a confusing maze to be seated. I was looking forward to trying some of the beer that was brewed there but found out that they didn’t have any. The waitress gave us some excusses as to why they were not brewing. That was a dissappointment but they did have some decent craft beer on tap. So all was not lost on the beer. The menu was too large with 6 pages of selections. The pizza menu was 2 ½ pages of the menu. We were not dissapppointed with the food and would have to say I was quite pleased. Overall dissappointed in the Brew Pub but very pleased with the pizza. I would change the layout of the building though.
