We actually ate at Irish eye twice while staying in Milton, and I have mixed feeling about it. The first night we went in around 9(because it’s pretty much the only place open in this adorable little town) and we had the rare tuna sandwich, and the California burger, and the garlic mussels. This whole meal I would recommend! They were delicious, the fish was cooked perfectly(RARE!) and the burger was very generous. The next day we went back and had 2 salads, cranberry walnut and(special) scallop + romaine + EVOO, which left something to be desired… I wouldnt get either of them again. If you go here stick with things people have recommended and you’ll enjoy it just fine!

Food was awful, service was worse. I have never not tipped a server, but after tonight, that’s no longer true. Won’t be back.

Had lunch with a group and the reviews were varied. I thought the appetizer of scallops on pineapple with siracha and agave was interesting, pretty and very tasty. But the entrée version came on top of something that was hard to identify. They were overcooked sweet potato fries. The vegetable panini was described as good. An order of beef filled spring rolls was difficult to eat because the wrapped was over fried. That person said they would not reorder or recommend. The service was amazing but the young lady needs to quit calling older people honey!

First impression, I saw someone lighting a cigarette at the bar INDOORS with kids around. I DONOT care for that, even if she«just lit it» with a table candle and took it out side. Seems like more of a bar than a restaurant too. The advertisements indicated that it was a great place to watch some sports. They had a few TV’s on the walls but angled weird. Not many people probably due to snow and ice. Waitress was nice and prompt. I ordered the Shepard’s Pie and some fried pickles for an appetizer. My wife ordered the Bangers and Mash. The fried pickles where hot at least and ok. The dipping sauce tasted like they squirted it out of a bottle or something like salad dressing, not good at all. Main meal was good, just good.

The food quality here is quite poor. We been here several times and each time the food was just barely passable. Only come to Irish eyes if you want to get some beers

Food was way overpriced, and the service was slow. The food was very much below average, and in fact, half of our party didn’t even finish most of their meals due to the quality of the food. The fried pickles were overall pretty good, but the Murphy’s Melt was pretty disgusting. We will not be going back.

Been waiting for 1 ½ hrs for a kids grilled cheese and kids hotdog. Less than decent burger. Frozen cocktail sauce for good claim strips. Enough said in my opinion.

I stopped into your establishment a few days ago for a meal and was very disappointed. Did you recently, I mean within the past month, hire a new«cook»? Your food is quickly going down hill. Please do whatever you have to do to bring the last«chef» back. Very disappointed with my last visit.

My wife, son, daughter in law, and I went there for dinner last night. We have gone there quite a few times in the past, No More! The food is ok but I ordered an IPA draft the first one was good the second was good until I got to the near the bottom, I looked in the glass and there was something in the bottom of it. I examaned it(a burned paper match stick) and I ask the wait staff to idenify it and she took it to the manager. She came back with what do you want to do? Didn’t offer to take it off my bill or anything the manager didn’t even come over to say a word. I’m done with this place, the service sucks and the food is so so. If you go there watch out for the old match stick in the glass trick.

stopped in at irish eyes yesterday for lunch during my travel thru Milton… nice little pub in the middle of town with a lot of irish photographs around the restaurant and bar… they were in the middle of expanding with a new room, so I guess business is doing well… i had a couple of PBR’s with their cheesy potato soup and an order of garlic mussels… everything was very tasty along with quick and friendly svc… the place had a nice lunch crowd and everyone was very friendly… they have a nice deck out back overlooking the canal… great place to hang out on a warm day ! I checkek out the toilet and all was very clean… they also have free popcorn for snacking… the prices on the menu i think were a little high in price but other than that i had a great experience…

Should have left as soon as we walked in and overheard the manager apologizing to another customer. Unlike the woman who said she’d still come back, we will not. We have been here several times in the past and the food is usually average at best and the service is generally slow. Tonight the kid’s food took 45 minutes to arrive and the french fries were burnt, stale, and obviously refried at least twice. Well over an hour later the adult’s entrees arrived… all except one. The missing entrée didn’t seem to be a concern to our waitress saying that it was on its way. Meanwhile everyone finished their meal when FINALLY the missing entrée arrived. Understood that mistakes happen however it was the inability to apologize and own up to their mistakes. Then to add insult to injury when we asked to have the missing meal comped we were rewarded with $ 7.95 off a $ 22 entrée! Average at best food, slow service and now this… unfortunately won’t be back.

We stopped in one afternoon following a tour of the Dogfish Head Brewery. We found the place pretty easily and were seated pretty quickly. We arrived around 2:00 pm, so after the main lunch hours, and there were still quite a few people in the restaurant. Soon, we understood why: the service is the worst. Never had worse service ever. The patrons sitting here when we arrived had probably been waiting eons for their orders. Nonetheless, we were hungry, so we placed an order for some drinks and food. The wait staff was completely inattentive. Our glasses sat empty most of the time. Our(unremarkable) food took over an hour to get to the table. Never again. It was just horrible.

Was exploring Milton and stopped at Irish Eyes for the first time. We ordered a beer and sandwiches. The beer came promptly, but the food took over a ½ hour. In addition, the service was poor. No utensils… Had to get our own. The quality of the sandwiches was OK at best. Will not rush back.

My family and I were in Milton for the Horseshoe Crab Festival over Memorial Day Weekend and decided to eat here because we could sit outside and enjoy the view of the festivities. Since we had our 18-month old twins with us, we ordered food right away for them. The wait for their food was LONG! People were seated after us and being served before our orders ever came out. The kids’ food came out with our appetizers and it just was getting longer and longer of a wait for our entrees. We were told they were slammed and short staffed. Um… it’s a holiday weekend, get it together! Should have gone with our original plan and got food from the festival. Learned our lesson! Won’t be going there!

Although I have not had the pleasure of eating the food, I am basing my experience on the drinks and cleanliness of this wonderful pub. Very nice place for an afternoon beer or two. Friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the area. I have heard that the burgers are great on burger night.

Friends and I were visiting from the Boston area and stopped in for a Sunday lunch. Very few people were there but it took us 1.5 hrs for our food to come out after our appetizers! We were so hungry waiting for so long we found a popcorn machine inside. The last dish we waited for in our party was a grilled cheese and fries. We were told the kitchen was backed up, yet the food was cold. The waitress was attentive but ok for service, several orders were screwed up. The food was terrible. I had a crab cake which had a strong fishy taste and the aioli was flavorless. The drinks were good and I can’t complain about the $ 2 Bloody Marys. We sat in the outdoor seating area which would have been nice if all we were ordering were drinks.

Since we were heading through Delaware, we decided to take a side trip to Dogfish Head Brewery, but first, we needed some lunch. We found Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant in downtown Milton, a quaint little town, and decided to check it out. The sign on the outside is a bit hard to see, small and high, and at first I wasn’t sure if the Unilocal address was correct. We went inside and I was surprised at how much room there was; plenty of tables in the front and long bar in the back. We sat at the bar and ordered two pints of DFH and sandwiches. I went with the«Murphy’s Melt» which consisted of turkey, coleslaw, 1000 island dressing and Swiss cheese on pumpernickel. Delicious! The service was okay. The bartender seemed like he really didn’t want to be there and it kind of showed, non-verbally, throughout our visit. After finishing lunch, we noticed the outside seating on the back deck overlooking the water, which would be a great spot to eat on our next visit.

This review is for a late lunch on a Friday(around 2:30pm). I imagine the atmosphere is quite different in the evenings. The offerings in Milton are pretty sparse, and we’d overheard a local merchant recommending Irish Eyes to another customer a few weeks ago. So when I was in town on my way to Lavender Fields with my mother this afternoon, I decided to check it out. We actually had the whole place to ourselves other than one guy at the bar when we first got there. By the time we left, we still had the dining room to ourselves, but there were a few more bar stools occupied by then. There’s an outdoor seating area, but the host warned us in advance that there were some men smoking out there, so we sat inside. We each had the crab cake sandwich with«Chesapeake aioli», which was delicious. The aioli was so fresh they brought it out about a minute after the sandwiches because they were still making it when they sent the sandwiches out. It was very peaceful and quiet, and the service was attentive.

A welcoming environment with tables up front, bar in the back, and live music space overlooking a water area that appears to be part of Milton Memorial Park. Our party of six ran the gamut of menu offerings including: corned beef and cabbage, fish tacos, a «surf ‘n turf”-like offering, and the softshell BLT sandwich. No complaints from any plates save for the size of the steak/seafood option. My only real issue was the smell from the air conditioning vents. The smell of mildewy basement hits you from the minute you walk in. While not a turn off, it’s something that could affect more sensitive noses and is easily remedied. Beers are typical to American Irish pubs(Guinness, Harp, & Smithwick’s) in addition to a few Dogfish Head draughts and some unique bottled brews.
