I had the pleasure of working with Natalie Pham from this branch, she was very professional and direct. She quickly took me through the process, laid out all my options clearly, and asked the right questions to help me personally. Unlike past experiences with insurance agents, I didn’t feel rushed or forced towards a particular product/​service. I never really review anything, but the service here was outstanding so i just had to write something. I called in to pay a bill and was helped by Natalie Pham. Received really friendly service. She helped me make the payment right away, even assisted me in changing my profile and setting up an online account. If you ever need anything, i would highly recommend Natalie. She’s awesome.

He is very professional to talk with. He knows his job very well. He is very clear with the options, really took time to serve my needs and has saved me $ 46 a month less with my motorcycle insurance. I highly recommend Matthew for your insurance needs.
UPDATE: So I thought my service was great… well it was not all that great so I am changing my rating to 2 stars.
REASON:
I called and left 3 messages for Matthew to call me so that I could insure two of my cars through them… No call back! I called the fourth time and spoke to somebody else to get an estimate and I was given about the same cost as my current (AAA). Long story short, I found out that my motorcycle insurance did not come with renters insurance as part of my savings. I will be shopping for insurance coverage from someone else who will actually keep their promise.

I just purchased my auto insurance (full coverage) with the help from Matthew Jew. He is so helpful and so kind. I appreciate the small talk at the very beginning, he understands the big move from North Carolina to California is really stressful, which mean a lot to me during those tough days.
Matthew not only tried his best to find me the right package but also helped me find a best combination of all services at the lowest price. The conversation with him was very pleasant and I can tell he is a very smart person, and indeed, he got me a very attractive price. In addition, He was so patient to me. I am a foreigner and really not good at English, he explained every key item I should understand in a very detailed matter and always confirmed that I really understood them. As a new driver who know nothing about auto insurance, he answered lots of questions from me.
According to my experience, I got the best price I can compared to other insurance companies and other agents (I called all big insurance companies I was suggested by friends and got many quotes). I highly recommend Matthew Jew from State Farm particularly if you are a foreigner, or a Chinese who has driving experience in China and is scared by the high price from other insurance companies.

Moving to a new apartment can be very stressful and complicated with arranging everything from leasing, packing, movers, cleaning and seemingly endless paperwork and tasks.
One super important item that many of my friends overlook is renter’s insurance for a new apartment. Not only does it protect your belongings but it protects you from lawsuits for accidents or damages. Example: my uninsured friend accidentally flooded her apartment and everything she and her roommates owned and the flooring was ruined. To make matters worse, she found out she was being invoiced for all the apartment repair work and had to pay everything out of pocket.
My new apartment landlord asked me for renter’s insurance, so I started contacting my current insurance provider and requesting a quote. The quote was double what I currently pay for my apartment in SF, so I decided to ask around and check on other providers.
I called State Farm in my hometown of Milpitas and worked with Matthew Jew. Since my new landlord gave me no instructions or requirements for the policy, Matt explained everything in great detail and helped me anticipate things I would need for the policy (e.g. asking if I wanted to include anyone like a roommate on the policy and the suggested coverage levels). He gave me a quote that costs less than the competitors, so I booked the policy. Everything was done over the phone and he sent both my landlord and me a copy of the policy by email and by mail.
I definitely recommend State Farm for home/​renters insurance for the competitive pricing, convenience and the customer service.

As soon as I walked this to this place, I knew I’ve found the right place for me. One of the associate, Matthew Jew, noticed I walked in, immediately got up from his chair, and gave me a warming greeting. After the initial exchange of ‘How are you?’ & ‘How can I help?’ stuff I went on with things I needed and the reason I stopped by. I let him know that I recently moved from Los Angeles to San Jose so I needed to make some changes on my insurance policy. And guess what? After patiently listening to me, he suggested a couple of things I was going to ask as if he pictured the whole thing I need. He’s like ‘You moved up here from LA so you probably need this and that’. I’m like ‘Wow…this guy knows what he’s doing… which is awesome!’
Along with his pro-​activeness in response to what customers need, we actually talked about the 49ers and the perfect restaurants that I don’t want to miss. What I am saying is that yeah… agents out there do their job like a robot but do they really care what you like and tell you where to go like a friend? Not really. He is the guy if you want the personal-​level of care.
So everything was taken care of in 10 minutes but I stayed there for another 15 mins to debate how the 49ers make themselves better for the next season. 49ers fans out there… he is the guy for you.
Anyhow Matthew Jew is the guy you want to go to for any insurance issues and he will take care of you. I am extremely satisfied with the way he solved all my problems and I know he will do the same for you.

Mark and his team are AWESOME!!! We have our two cars and house insured by his team. They made the transition from the previous company very smooth, and his team is so helpful, especially Rio! Rio goes above and beyond to meet expectation! Thank you Mark and his team for everything they do!

I had State Farm insurance in Seattle and transferred it to Mark Wong when I moved to bay area. They are a bunch of helpful folks which made it easy for me to transfer the insurance and offered me all the Discounts which I am eligible for in California.
They made regular calls over the months to ensure everything is fine and would accomodate and explain all details in the bills in a quick fashion.
They had asked me to pay for a annual visit which is a good thing. They went over my policy and checked if I was receiving all the discounts and also if any changes to the policy. During the discussion, they come with some suggestions which is saving me money.
Definitely would recommend this place for State Farm.

I had four cars insured with other companies before switching to Mark Wong and State Farm. While shopping around, Mark’s company stood out because of their fast response and care to make sure I got exactly what I needed. They even took care of contacting my existing insurer to cancel my policy. I saved a good amount of money with Mark which is awesome.
I had an incident with my previous insurance and wished things could have been handled better. With a busy schedule and a new baby, knowing I have someone like Mark and his team behind me should anything happen gives me one less thing to worry about a little more peace of mind.

I used to think State Farm was like the «Gucci» of insurance. Super good service, but really expensive — oh how I was wrong. (of course) depending on what you’re insuring, state farm can be much cheaper than the competitors!
I admit it, when Mark Wong took over my insurance policy from my last guy, I was at best skeptically indifferent. «Great, I thought — another insurance salesman that’s just going to bother me with fake holiday cards and annoying phone calls.»
To my surprise, Mark and his whole team Rio, Gracie help me hand and foot at the most weird hours of the night. No annoying calls, no fake holiday cards yet. Just awesome service that made and is making the unbearable process of Insurance purchasing a little less unbearable. They help me explore my options, add in different plans, give quotes mega-​fast and are pleasant to talk to on the phone. Well, at least Rio and Gracie sound pleasant. I’ve only e-​mailed with mark.
ANYWAYS, to cut a long story short. State farm also has some really good rates too but make sure you holler at these guys if you’re looking for insurance.
Like a good neighbor… well you get the point.

Absolutely Frustrating Experience with State Farm and Mark’s Office. Switching from Geico/​Progressive/​Allstate to State Farm feels I like I have traveled back in time to Flintstone’s Era.
First let me clarify upfront — If I have to give a rating purely based on Personality and Nicety factors — This office gets 5 stars. Mathew Jew and many of the folks I dealt with are very very nice people and very personable folks. But this is a business that they are running and I unfortunately have to give them a rating that truly reflects the business experience I had with them.
On to the details:
Everything with State Farm is extremely inefficient and archaic. Even simple things like auto coverage change during renewal, effective date change on a policy is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get done and requires several office visits and frequent followups — You cannot do anything over the phone nor the internet — It is that bad.
On August 2013, we purchased a new home in Milpitas and based on the Unilocal reviews, I found Mark’s office. I primarily dealt with Mathew Jew who was extremely nice and assured me that State Farm is good to deal with. So, we purchased a Home and Auto Policy with an effective date sometime in end of August. We purchased the policy more than a month before the closing date on our home.
One week before Closing, we came to know that our Closing is getting delayed by 3 – 4 days due to our Bank. So I called and emailed Mathew several days before the start date of the policy to change the effective date since we did not want to pay for a home policy when the home was not going to be occupied on the original date.
Mathew assured me it will be taken care of — So I left it at it. 2 Months pass by and after I closed, I received the policy documents from State Farm still showing the old effective date. Since we were extremely busy with our moving and other personal commitments, I did not bother to followup on this mistake since it was only a few dollars of pro-​rated credit anyway.
A few months pass-​by and I get my first renewal notice from StateFarm for my Auto Policy — Here is where it got even more frustrating — I go to the Website and changed my coverage 1 month before the due date and after submitting it — nothing happens. The due date kept approaching and I call Mathew. He once again assures me he is going to take care of it and asked me wait until the due date of the renewal to see the newly reflected premium.
One day before the due date comes and still no update however — Nothing got changed in the coverage nor the premium. So I got fed up and since I did not want to have a lapse in my Auto Policy, I paid the full amount based on the old coverage hoping that State Farm would just credit me back the difference easily.
Mathew as usual assures me he is going to take care of everything and he should be able to process the credits easily. I also make it a point to point out to him at this time to follow up on the Home Policy date change debacle — He says he will get some answers on how the date change got missed.
2 weeks pass by and nothing — Nada! — Once your Money goes into State Farm’s pocket — it is like giving it to the IRS. There is NO WAY to get that money back whatever you do. They will only issue a credit that will applied towards the Next Renewal — Ridiculous!
I had to follow with Mathew several times over these issues (3 – 4 emails with No Response, 5 – 6 calls to his office, he left 1 message back though) and 2 office visits just to get a $ 5 refund to my credit card due to the Coverage Change and even after all this — nothing ever got done.
In the end, it was complete waste of my time and this is simply not how a business should be run. I am still left with my money hanging in State Farm’s account and as if adding more insult to the injury, State Farm sent me a Bill Saying, I owe my 6 month auto premium again in March when I already paid my full dues till August 2014.
I have been more than patient with Mathew and Mark’s office and gave them several chances to fix these — Agreed the amounts in question are small — but the overall experience is so ridiculously bad that Mark’s Office and Mathew are simply are not able to keep to their word and solve anything.
I have lost complete confidence in State Farm and in this agency and If simple things like date changes and coverage changes, credits etc cannot be handled, It is scary to think how claims will be handled.

I called in to have State Farm (Mark Wong’s office) cover two more of my vehicles (one new, one old) — in addition to my motorcycle. Matthew Jew helped me on the phone — his customer service, speed, and accuracy was far beyond my expectations. The whole ordeal was very smooth.
Overall, I’ve been very happy with Mark Wong’s office staff — when I had a claim a few years ago, I received phone from Mark himself to make sure everything/​everyone was okay — and the turn around time was amazingly fast.

I was routed to Mark Wong’s from State Farm’s own online service after quoting renter’s insurance. Being pretty new to all the insurance requirements here in California, I was intimidated by all the numbers and terms. Nevertheless, Matthew Jew was happy to explain all the meanings and was helpful enough to help me calculate my ideal liability amount, something he claims that other insurance offices do not do! This was very helpful for me!
I ended up purchasing auto and renter’s insurance from Matthew. I am actually looking forward to giving them my (spotless) driving history so that they can give me another discount. Matthew really made the insurance process pleasant and simple, which is more than I could have asked for as a beginner and new resident.
