My boyfriend normally goes here for haircuts and I finally gave it a try. I booked an appointment with Nana. She trimmed my hair and she actually cut it the length I wanted. Most places I go to, always cut way too much… She also styled my hair in the end and I loved how the curls looked. It was very nice of her to style it in the end with no additional cost. It was $ 40 for everything and worth it. Overall, amazing hair dresser and I will be back for future haircuts. Finally found a good place:)

I went to la gu gu the other day– I ask for Joe and a lady told me he’s no longer working there after I heard that left n went to other salon. if anyone read this msgs can someone let me know where is Joe new salon located at! That is very thankful. he’s the best stylist he’s been cut my hair for a years n I dint wabt to find someone else. or can shout me an msg on here… thanks again :-)

Barry cut my hair way too short. I even showed him the a picture of 水原希子頭. I told him the length above the shoulder, he end up chopped my hair off right below my ears with a bob. He has a tendancy of cutting my hair much shorter than I asked. I’m so pissed! With the Christmas party coming up and all.

Had an appointment with nana this time. It was her second time doing my hair since Joe doesnt work at la gugu anymore. Does anyone know where joe went? Anyways nana did s great job. She washed my hair, did exactly what i asked for, and she even styled my hair at the end.

I got a hair cut from Berry. Not impressed. He did my hair in a hurry. Just wanted to talk me into a perm and sell me a protein spray. Unprofessional work but cost me $ 50 plus tips. Will not come here again.

Was going to go to lunch at Thai Café but the wait was too long. Decided to get a trim as my hair is really long and heavy. Was pretty scary because I chose to have a hair cut two days before a high school reunion with a stylist that I have not worked with before.
Nana was available when I walked in and have to say today is my lucky day. She is patient and completely understand the result that I want to achieve.
After over one hour of trimming there was barely any hair on the floor, which is the result that I am looking for — a very subtle change. Very subtle.
I walked out with lighter hair but Nana managed to keep most of the length.
I will be back!

Ever since moving to the Bay Area I had trouble finding a hair stylist that fits my style and the bill at the same time. NaNa from Lagugu salon really helped me get the styles I wanted at an affordable price. She is very nice and very thorough with her work. You won’t be disappointed here.

Took 14 hours to get my hair to an amazing blue purple ombré and it was totally worth it. They gave me a lovely experience and even bought me lunch and dinner while I waited for everything to settle. This was the first time I did something crazy and I absolutely love it. Surprisingly my hair actually feels softer now than before I walked in.
10⁄10 coming back.

I went to La Gu Gu Salon today. My friend recommended Joe to me. He was busy so I tried another stylist Jack. Jack was very nice and patient. I like my new hair cut very much. Will definitely go next time.

Highly recommend Barry !!!
My hair was looking awful before. Long but not well maintained. Damaged badly due to perm & dyeing, crazy knotty, totally no style.
Right now, 5 days after hair cut, I am still smiling about how awesome my hair looks.
As a stylist, Barry listens and takes his time explaining what he thinks would or would not suit me. He used his magic hands to achieved what it is I want for my hair.
BTW, The guy who washed my hair is pretty handsome and gentle. I don’t know his name.

I was recommended to LaGuGu have a hair cut, and Joe was the stylist who is available to help me. I asked him to design a new hair style for me and he did.
He is very professional, skillful and patient. He will touch my hair and suggest me how he will design it and look good on me. After we agreed on the design, he will then start working on it. At the same time, he will also teach me how to style it and take care of my hair.
At the end, i am very satisfied with the result and so far everyone said i have a good hair cut and asked me where i get it done. Highly recommend Joe at LaGuGu for anyone who wants to try new style and design. :)

I was recommended to Barry from a friend and am really glad I found him! I have fine Asian hair so it can be a disaster when the stylist doesn’t know how to Crete texture through correct technique. Barry did a great job creating a great hairstyle that complements my hair’s natural state. He knew exactly what I wanted and also offered some great tips for better style. I really like how he doesn’t overuse styling products during the haircut. Great scalp massage comes with shampoo. Docking one star because it is pricey.

I’ve always had a great experience at this salon (and I’ve been coming to this salon for 5 years straight). The staff is pretty casual, but it still feels like a professional salon.
The décor is very simple, not too much in-​your-​face product placement jumping out at you. Also, no cheesy posters of 80s-​90s Paul Mitchell hair styles either. The salon is clean and organized. The only drawback for e is that the location is a bit too far for me (as I live in the Peninsula/​SF area).
