We love Filipino food so a coworker referred us to check this place out. The location is inside Seafood City and less than 5 minutes away from our home. OMG the large container is only $ 10.75 that can feed more than 5 people. The price is a lot cheaper than Island Pacific.

My mom picked up some fresh lumpia or what they call a naked salad from this place today. They told her that the sauce was thicker than usual today. And yet they still served it! C’mon what happened to pride in your product? What we got in the cup was orange paste. I cannot believe someone in that fast food restaurant would serve something that looked so unappetizing.

Ordered only the pork and chicken bbq skewers(four for $ 10). Pretty tasty, but would still rather drive to Pinoy BBQATBP across town. Friendly service.

My parents love this place! I didn’t know this place existed until they brought home some delicious BBQ sticks and other street food from here. The isaw was okay…(Go to Dollar Hits in LA for the real deal!) I liked the pork BBQ sticks though. The marinade is delicious and it’s always so tender and good with white rice! We also come here for their lechon liempo. We ordered it for Thanksgiving and it was a hit with our family as well! Make sure to plan ahead when you use their catering services! They do get busy specially on the weekends and even on holidays! With that said service can be slower, but that’s given specially they grill most of their foods here!

I ordered the«Longsilog». Not bad for 5 bucks. It was a decent fix for when you have a silog craving. I would say this is hangover quality food. FOOD: — 3 pieces of longanisa. 2 extra hard over eggs(not the ideal for silogs). «Garlic rice» that was BARELY warm. SERVICE: — Cashier not engaged in the customer service. He kept talking to 2 other co-workers behind him. I felt like he just wanted me to leave. Possibly a cultural difference.

This service of this place is horrible. I went their yesterday to pick up a large preorder – they didn’t have the order ready on time, and when they finally gave us the order, they forgot a quarter of the order. Luckily, my house wasn’t too far. Had I already headed to the party further away, I would had been really upset. The food is good and cheap. It is cheaper than King Eggroll and Pinoy BBQ. For the price, I probably will order from here again for big party tray.

3 stars because they have a lot of selections including the $ 1 skewers. I would give 5 if the price for the bbq were cheaper, if the main dish were good and if the $ 1 skewers were fully cooked and served warm. If they didn’t have the skewer options outside, it’s definitely 1.5 star.

Go inside Seafood City — 1 grill man, several older ladies behind counter. — service on the slower side. Eats: chicken Inasal & bbq pork on a stick. Chicken Inasal was good but did have a weird taste. The bbq pork was decent but did have one piece that was all fat. Tips: order the $ 22.50 family meal for the best bang for your buck.

(10÷24÷15): We’re back! This time tried the chicken tocino and was not disappointed. Wifey’s pork bbq was a bit fatty but tasted good anyway. Garlic fried was same as last. (09÷19÷15): We happened to be up early after a SJC drop off and thinking of a place that was opened at 7am that served filipino breakfast and this was the ONLY place. The offerings were as expected for a place that caters to filipinos and the price was cheap! Imagine 2 heaping scoops of garlic fried rice, 3 longanisa, and 2 fried eggs for only $ 3.95 is a steal! The only reason I took away 1 star was because the fried rice was not garlicky enough and the service was a bit slow. Nevertheless, they were very pleasant for having to be up that early in the morning so I commend them. Like Arnold S. we’ll be back!!!

Good service and food was decent. Went on a Thursday around 6:15pm and most of the food was gone. Grilled chicken was really dry. That salad they have on the poster was so misleading; the actual dish didn’t look anything like it. Grilled pork belly is the best here. Screwers were decent… Saucy and a lot of meat. My husband was pissed at this place because they tried charging $ 3 or $ 4 for coconut water but the store had it by the register for $ 0.99. Should have at least offer a cup and ice or else lower the price a bit.

Not too sure whose to blame for the confusion, but here’s my review take it as you please. We came in Saturday during brunch time to have BBQ that everyone seems to rave about here. As we were ordering we were told it would take 15 – 20 mins as they were still grilling up a fresh batch. Upon going to the register we were told they don’t accept Amex, and I was a few dollars short with the cash I had, so I asked them to keep my order, and I would come back once the BBQ were made and would pay for the rest of the food I bought. At that time, it seemed as a win-win. I had a 15 min wait, which would have been enough time to go home and get another credit card. Once I got back, I went to the register where I picked up the side order of rice, when I asked where the BBQ was the lady at the register seemed to deny the fact I had ordered BBQ. It was really confusing because we spent a few mins discussing how they don’t accept AMEX, yet for some reason she couldn’t remember I also ordered BBQ. On top of all that, she asked us to wait for another 20 mins as the batch of BBQ were just getting started. Driving back and forth, having my order forgotten, waiting for food, all the while on a hungry tummy was definitely not something I appreciated. Most likely won’t return.

I love the food here… especially the bbq!!! I’m Filipino so I might give a biased review here, but seriously, the food is mad great! If you wanna know what good food tastes like, try it… and if you don’t like it, then you can at least say you tried it right? Indulged on-laing, pork bbq on a stick, rice of course, and some grilled fish and squid…

Grill City is located inside Seafood City and is a great place to grab some Pinoy BBQ or Filipino BBQ. In the beginning, the workers and cashiers had a lot of training and learning to do… but they are slowly improving. This time around, not so many people in line were annoyed and frustrated. probably just one person. The BBQ is tasty and filling and I appreciate that there are other options such as sinigang and bopis. If you haven’t tried their BBQ yet, I say give it a try. just come with a lot of time and patience.

So… never had kare kare, but was excited gc had it. Ordered #5 grilled chicken leg with rice dinuguan($ 1 extra) and side of kare kare($ 4.50 sm). Total was $ 13.32 which was ok considering it was a lot of food for me. As a non filipina, the ladies were polite. Chicken inasal was really good. Not dry with an interesrting flavor. Not sure what it was, but i’d eat this again. Dinuguan was a bit sour. Like ramen, depending on the city, the flavors will vary. I like dinuguan, but not sour or when there’s fat in it. Kare kare was delicious, full of peanutty flavor, but thick for my taste. I don’t like peanuts, but i’m ok with peanut taste except peanut butter and pb cookies. It had string beans, tripe honeycomb, eggplant and… cassava? I can’t eat filipino food too often since it’s mainly consists of deep fried food or heavy artery clogging stuff. I approve :)

Never had an issue with their bbq sticks. That’s all I’ve ordered on a few occasions. Nothing special but it gets the job done if you need a quick item for a party. Service can be slow at times.

Service is nice BUT slow. The food tasted good at first but then it just made my friends and me feel crappy. Everything felt oily The kabobs are decent, and sweet. The salad was gross, sweetie sauce and not fresh what so ever. Their stuffed fish was sweet… yes sweet as well and had no texture. It was not satisfying what so ever. Very gross experience

The reviews are right in that slow service and price is probably what is keeping the great-tasting food of this food court from touching a 4. If’s slightly more expensive than what you would want for a food court and paper utensils. However, the food is delicious. Stick to the kebabs and nothing else. The other seafood and meat items are good but the kebabs are that much better. The naked salad that comes with a value entrée is not very naked. It comes with hot, sugary tasting that is delicious, making this salad not so healthy any more. The chicken and pork kabobs are slathered in so much glaze. It’s like eating meat candy. The fish is good. The pork strips are soft and much easier to eat than they look.

Okay Filipino food court in a grocery store. Lots of teriyaki type of BBQ meats. Not for tourists but good for adventurous types. I like their blood based stew with pig ear and other mystery parts over rice.

For a while, the Seafood City at Landess has been without an eatery to call their own, which can seem a bit strange considering most locations do indeed have one. Of course, it might not be necessary considering it’s at the center of what’s the only Pinoy-based mall and plaza in North America surrounded by such places as Max’s of Manila, Goldilocks, and Chow King. Dubbed Grill City, the specialties at this street food a la carte eatery are grilled right in front of patrons, with their signature menu items being their grilled pork and chicken skewers. Both of which are actually quite scrumptious, having the sweet pinoy flavor Filipinos know and love. I found the chicken to be the slightly more desirable one. For both, it was pretty much like eating tocino on a stick. Setting itself apart from Goldilocks, which is literally right across the hall, is the fact that they have ready-to-eat fish items such as grilled pompano and tilapia. Both of which are filled to the brim with basic vegetables for added flavor to both fish – which most chefs know lack flavor. Also making this place unique is the fact that they give you two scoops of rice. So for $ 8, you get a regular entrée item, two scoops of rice, and even a soup which is usually sinigang. They also have traditional Filipino favorite dishes that rotate daily. The dinuguan isn’t bad, but the kare kare is a tad bland in my opinion. I’ll be trying their bopis next, as it’s a favorite of mine since it’s a specialty of a province that my family isn’t from. As far as tips go, I work in this plaza so I usually go when there’s no line, but the line can pick up rather quickly because sometimes they just don’t have enough staff. This is more of a place to just grab your food and go, as they’ll be giving everything to you in a Styrofoam to-go box anyway. Also, the specialty drinks are nothing special, as you can just get something at Bubble Street next door anyway. All in all, you’ll get full when you come here. Two scoops of rice; ’nuff said.

I really enjoyed my meal at GRILLCITY! Just took a couple of days off work bc I caught a cold and what not better way to soothe my body by a great bowl of soup. Originally, I was craving some Arroz Caldo but neither they or Chow King served it. I settled with the next best thing when you’re sick, Sinagang. If you order the combo you can get one stick of chicken/pork BBQ and either a side or soup. Both sinagang and pork bbq were pretty good. Not the best ive had, but the best ive had in San Jose. Born and raised in San Francisco i grew up with the pleasure of having the Philippines Mecca, outside of the Philippines, Daly City in my backyard. There you have the best Filipino BBQ around! Notes: The price was fair at about $ 6 for a combo. Great Filipino fast meal. Note to Management: It would be nice if the tables were cleaned and bussed more often.
