Elite Bakery

Elite bakery makes awesome chiffon cakes. My mom recently bought their guava chiffon cake for my dad’s birthday. It was delicious!
We are getting our wedding cake made by Elite because my fiancé and I couldn’t resist the chiffon cake. mmm. so light and just sweet enough.
They are going to be moving to Union City soon, so be on the look out for a brand new location and store front!

Friendly people running it. Sweet pan de leche. Other prodocuts are good too

15 seconds on high… a morning full of ooooh-​ahhh.

I just got my feet pummeled by a guy at Happy 8, and remembered that Elite Bakery was right around the corner, and decided to head in to check things out. Like Sister’s bakery in Sunnyvale, Elite manufactures a good portion of the pan de sal that is sold in Ranch 99 and Asian groceries stores in the South Bay.
I headed into the bakery, and the store front isn’t much to behold. It’s in a run down shopping center off of Dixon. They had a fairly good assortment of Filipino baked goods. I opted for some ube hopia (always a good measure of how good a Filipino bakery for me) and a mamon. The pastry portion of the hopia tasted really good, and flaky. The ube tasted so so. It actually tasted like ube from a jar, so I wasn’t too impressed.
The mamon was decent, but again, nothing too memorable.
I’ll head over here when I’m in the area and I’m hungry, but I won’t go out of my way to grab something something.

The variety can be interesting, but the service is often really bad. I dunno, maybe you have to be a recognizable local regular to be appreciated and to really enjoy a place like this.

empanadas, kelaguen, and even guava cake. what more do i need. only problem is you have to order a few days in advance.
