East Essence

Bought a dress here and realized it doesn’t fit. Tags attached and unworn I called to see if I can return it or get store credit but they would do neither. It’s the exact same item they have on their website which advertises hassle free returns. I won’t be returning back to this store or their website.

I’ve been ordering from the website for the past 5 years. All the abayas and dresses are lovely. I just started ordering for my 4 year old. I ordered xsmall, but is bigger on the top chest so I exchanged for small. When I received, they are perfect but just extra long on the bottom. She might have to wait for next year. Meanwhile, I ordered all the hot pink for her and she loves it! I wish they had other shades of colors.
*Note that some are thin and some feels heavy because the dresses can be very flowy :)

To summarize, twice this year I have made a 100 mile trip each way to visit the Outlet Store so I could make a big purchase. The first time I checked both their web store and Unilocal which had NO message they would be closed. This was during mid-​July. I even called several times, with no answer from the hour wait line on the telephone but this is really typically since their phone lines are busy all the time. I arrived and they were closed, no note. I stuck around all day thinking maybe someone was a lunch. Nothing!!! After four hours, I went home empty handed.
Then on Thursday, 9÷3÷15, I did some research again to ensure they were open so I can plan on driving down Friday 9÷4÷15. I again checked their website and Unilocal and there was no mention of anything out of the sort of being closed. Sure enough another 100 miles trek, each way, to the Outlet and there is a note on the door stating closed due to renovation. «WHAT!» There was no mention anywhere about the closure. I go to the side of the building where the their offices are at, the door was opened and low & behold sits four woman who are busy away on their computers. I inquired why they were closed and I was hit back with a nasty response by one of the workers that I should have called before coming. I explained that I checked you website and Unilocal before coming and there was no mention of closed for renovation. I was basically belittled by the staff for being so stupid to drive 100 miles instead of ordering from the web site. With their strict no return policy, I want to make sure the items I was going to purchase fit! Just the poor attitude and lack of being able to effectively let the public know not to visit the Outlet Store because it was closed is just plan lazy on their part, in my opinion. I would not recommend this place of business due to unprofessional behavior. Not a happy camper!

Recently my eldest daughter was in the market for a beautiful garment to wear to her twin sons’ graduation. We went to the warehouse of EastEssence. The no hassle shopping experience was so relaxing and the selection of clothing we could wear was tremendous and fashionable. We found the perfect garment for her, she looked radiant.
My (teenage) grand daughter found a nice pair of pants and I found 2 blouses for myself. I love the overall length and the sleeve length. I usually find that the sleeve length can be challenging because I have long arms but no worries here and I’m able to make wudu easily.
I’m rating this an excellent shopping experience.
Then to add — 2 weeks later I was back again this time for an overgarment and scarf for my niece online and this too was an equally awesome shopping experience as well. My niece lives 4 hours away and we were able to shop together with ease. It was also easy to refer to the sizing chart to determine her size.
With the prices being so reasonable I’ll continue shopping here from time to time InshAllah. I was exposed to a rare treasure. Kudos to my daughter Halima and EastEssence.

Most affordable and great quality abayas in the Bay Area! I am going to be leaving for hajj soon and was in desperate need for abayas. MCA’s abayas were too expensive and were too big on me. Thankfully I found this place on Unilocal.
Even though when I went they were closed due to a big function that day once I explained I needed it for hajj and don’t have much time they immediately let me in!
The service was great. Even though it was a mess because of the event they were having the women who owns the store showed me which racks I could choose from.
Found two abayas for under $ 30 bucks and they got great. However, size does run bigger so if your a medium then you will fit in a small.
The abayas in store are cheaper than on the website so if you live close by go ahead and head out to the store.
Do call before going she recommended to me that would be the best!

Best ever, They have some very good abayas for reasonable price however, just the shipping price is little bit high. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for abayas.

This is one of those non sense businesses in Bay area who took an advantage of not being many of same kind in our area and make a foul out of customers.
We went there today and were told that they closed it for some upcoming sale on saturday now what kind of stupid excuse is this with our time and fuel wasted without any prior email/​notice to even subscribers to their useless business site. we even called them before going for store hours and everything and there was no mention of this closure.
I wish would have given then no or negative rating for this.

I am traveling to Saudi Arabia for work and needed to purchase an abaya. I am completely clueless about Saudi culture and customs. Lucky for me, I was travelin in the Bay Area for work and came into this shop. The service was fantastic. As a clueless western woman, the sales associate took her time to teach me about how to wear the abaya and the head scarf. It was a fantastic experience and highly recommend coming in.

I live 50+ miles from the nearest Islamic apparel store, and am willing to admit, I hate shopping.

The only downside I have found is the $ 150 requirement for free shipping. It means a little extra saving and budgeting for bulk purchases, but totally worth it. Everything I’ve ordered has held up well, and seems to be good quality, both the tunics and abayas. The customer service has also been wonderful; I recived a quick reply and friendly service when I requested a change on my latest order. I would definitely reccommend eastessence to a friend. 1000’s of jilbabs to choose, a pluthera of styles and fabrics, beautiful colors in many shades, great customer service, modest clothes with a modest budget. It is well worth the trip!!!
