Amazing biryani and great food. We took for Togo for a get together and everyone enjoyed it appreciated the taste.

This place is called Bawarchi?.
Had to try the biryani based on people in the know. The folks running the counter though friendly seem to be still working out the kinks of running the place which is puzzling considering this place has been around for a while.
The biryani is well-​cooked and the rice is fluffy but tasted bland and not very flavorful. Adding the side curry sauce over it does not improve things.
Chicken Chettinad tasted good but i think not as good as the curries at Anjappar which has terrible biryani otoh.

This little place is in the India Community Center. You basically order your food from the counter, they give you a number, and you chill out at the tables provided. Every Indian dude/​dudette I talked to says to get the Biryani. Well by «every» I mean about 5 people.
So of course we got the Biryani. We also got the Chilli Chicken and the Chicken Chettinad. The Chicken Chettinad was quite nice, full of spice and all that’s nice. I want to order that again next time. The biryani was nice too so yep no false advertising there. The Chilli Chicken tastes like an Indian rendition of Chinese food. Evidently that’s a big thing in India. Water is provided in pitchers, serve yourself.
When the tables were all filled, they brought out more tables/​chairs. That was really cool. The ICC has a gym, classes, etc. So eat up and work it off later.
The day I went they had practice for a high class Indian fashion show. Tickets were $ 500/​$ 1000. Wow. Tabu would be there which is wow. But $ 500/​$ 1000? Wow wow. We got a free preview while the runway models were practicing during lunch. It was wow wow wow. My colleagues were jealous that I had the best viewing seat.
This place is a great little secret gem. Or maybe its just a secret because I don’t live down here. But now its on Unilocal so check it out.
