Derick shot our wedding and I have nothing but great things to say about the amazing job he and his assistant did.
Derick has been shooting weddings for quite a while and told me he has shot over 25 weddings between his apprentice job under another wedding photographer and on his own. He now has his own apprentice and is branching out. I’m glad he did because he clearly is talented!
He shot our engagement photos last minute because we booked him just a month or two before our wedding. He was accommodating and didn’t skimp on anything. We shot them at Ed Levin Park in Milpitas and then did another shoot at the Rose Garden in SJ. Although neither place is really the greatest for taking photos, like I said it was last minute. But they came out beautiful. He also gave us access to high-​res shots so we could get prints done at Costco (which by the way are great for cheap prints!)
Then on the day of our wedding he showed up in professional attire and was even early. He shot the bride at the hotel getting ready as well as all the guys. He did some great artful shots and was accommodating to what we wanted, but also gave us a lot of input and did some great photos just using his artistic vision. A few members of our wedding party even mentioned how he was setting up some great photos between lighting, background and foreground objects, colors, etc. It’s clear that Derick has an artistic eye behind the lens and that really comes out in his photos.
All in all it was great working with Derick. He’ll photograph pretty much anything — birthday parties, weddings, cars, etc. He took some great family photos of us with our dog and I can tell they’re something I’m going to keep around for decades to come.
I would highly recommend him for his reasonable prices, professionalism, and of course his great photos!
