This is my favorite salon in pittsburgh by far. I have been going here since I moved here three years ago. Even when they moved from Lawrenceville to Millvale, which is quite a bit farther from my house, I still stuck with them. The best hairdresser there is Sarah. She is absolutely wonderful, and I will miss her when I’m gone. She gives great advice for your hair and isn’t afraid to tell you if she thinks a hairstyle will look bad on you. I have a huge problem with Pinterest, in where I think every cute hair cut and color will look great on me. She is also a perfectionist and will not rest until you and her are satisfied. Give this place a shot if you are looking for a new hair salon. It’s great.

I love this salon. More than any other I’ve been to. Why? Because Dallas is amazing. She does her own thing while still making me blonde and happy. They don’t take tips on credit cards so make sure you bring cash and lots of it because the girls will make you happy! There is a parking lot right down the street so it’s easy to find a spot. Ask for Dallas and you will def walk out looking good!

I had my hair cut there with Chancy and my feelings were spot on, Salon22 and Chancy were fabulous. They display the creative, organic ideals of a salon by treating it as a practical artform. I can’t give enough stars for my experience there. And I’ve heard a lot of the skin care they do, I wouldn’t hesitate on anything here.

What an awesome little place and what an awesome experience. After a terrible haircut at one local place and a hairdresser leaving another salon I would have considered going to, I found myself asking around and coming across this little gem. When you first see Salon 22, you do not see some overtly modern and bright salon, rather you see a cute older style with stylists who are clearly artists. At least that is what I saw. A lot of the people seemed like they have been coming there for awhile and they all had one thing in common, they were all leaving very happy. I was a little early for my appointment, and unlike other places that remind you how early you are, they were just nice and cool with me hanging out the extra 15 minutes. Finally, it was my turn and I was greeted kindly by Megan who would be cutting and coloring(gotta hide the grays) my hair. She actually listened, offered up suggestions and asked what I wanted and was comfortable with. She was dynamic, a listener, down to earth, clearly loves what she does and is very talented. All across the board awesome if you ask me! I loved my hairdresser back in Cleveland, but I have to admit that Megan after her first attempt at my mop blows him away. I am so glad that I came here. The surprising thing about everything was the cost… my last similar appointment with a crappy result had cost me a lot more. If you are looking for a salon with everything that is important, and not just the frills, come here. I think you will leave as happy as I did!

I recently purchased a groupon for a haircut at Salon 22. I made my appt with Megan, and I am glad that I did!!! Megan is fantastic!!! Not only did she give a great cut and style, but she also explained to me what she was doing, and then gave me some fantastic ideas for how to style my new cut. I thought this was really great, as many stylists don’t do this often. I did have a little bit of a wait when I got there, but it wasn’t too bad, the girls were busy. The wait was NOTHING compared to other salons I have gone to. :) I’ve already booked my next appt with Megan!

My experience with Salon 22 left something to be desired in many different aspects. First of all it cost $ 131 for an all over color, cut, and eyebrow waxing. That does not include the tip I left either. Let me begin with the hair dye job. She recommended a chocolate brown on my hair. I liked that idea and went with her advice. Now my routes look orange-red-ish. In addition, She didn’t get all the hair dye out when she washed my hair… I had to shower to get it out and watched the leftover dye go down the shower drain. Moving on to the haircut and this was by far the worst of the services. the stylist did not know how to move hair! She even sliced my nose with the shears. I have a cut on my nose and she didn’t even acknowledge it. Topped off with a half-azz job using a straight iron and barely looking at me was enough to make me never want to come back. The background activity here included other stylists and the owner talking about lunch and the fact that some deli was closed. They ended up going with McDonald’s. This was crappy service and overly expensive charges. It was a 1 star service overall… the extra star was for the fact I found a parking spot on Butler quickly right in front of the salon.
