We found this place by accident after so many other Chinese places closed down during the last 23 years. It is always good and reliable. The lady at the counter remembers that my husband likes their special mustard and its an open kitchen so you can see them cooking.

I ordered delivery from this restaurant and the food is disgusting. Anything I order is disgusting. I prefer China One.

Love their food! It’s difficult finding a Chinese take out place that you are satisfied with in your area but this one is great! They have trouble remembering sauce and fortune cookies sometimes when they deliver to us, but their food tastes great and they’re quick and nice when we pick up

Delicious consistency. That’s what you get from Hunan. Call at any time of day or night and your order will be ready in exactly 10 minutes. Your order will be correct. The portions will be huge — enough for 2 – 3 meals. The food is what you might expect — Chicken and Broccolli, General Tso’s, egg rolls, etc. There’s nothing particularly exotic on Hunan’s Bill of Fare. The lady will sound abrupt when she answers the phone. But, that’s okay. She happens to be very nice in person. And, while staff members may be short on phone pleasantries, they are long on time management skills. This can be a very high volume business and they deftly manage many orders/customers at the same time. I’d swear everyone who works here is a Six Sigma black belt. Some Hunan success tips: Don’t eat your food there. The glum décor is reminiscent of a prison cafeteria. Instead, take your steaming bag of food and enjoy it in the comfort of your home or nearby office. This is purely a take out joint, and certainly never a place you’d bring a date. When you go to pick up the food, give the last four digits of your phone number. That’s how they keep track of orders. They don’t bother writing down your name. Grab your own packets of sauce. You can have as many as you would like, but they don’t put them in the bag for you. You have to do it yourself. Tea(bags) are also available for your enjoyment on the far end of the counter(the one opposite the beverage case).

This place gives you huge portions. Yes, the prices are a little steeper than most Chinese Takeout spots, but honestly the amount you get for the price is incredible. My friend and I got takeout, it ran us about $ 30. Pretty high, right? Well it fed us for THREEDINNERS, plus a late night snack. My only complaint is that I ordered my entrée extra spicy, like I usually do, and it was in no way spicy, much less extra spicy. I hate the hoops I have to go through to let Asian restaurants know I’m down with the spice and I do, in fact, understand what I am asking for.

Great option for Chinese food. Take out or delivery for sure. I couldn’t see dining in as it is a small store front with a few tables. I order from here often, usually for dinner. Today, I had lunch. Of course, they offer a lunch special. The prices vary, but I got my lunch choice, rice and a soup for $ 5.80. Pretty good deal. There was more than enough food to satisfy me. This place is right down the street from our house, which makes it even better. The woman at the front counter is always nice and somehow always knows which order is mine, without me even telling her! I pretty much have had a little of everything from shrimp to beef, chicken and an array of appetizers. I don’t have a complaint about anything. I prefer white meat chicken, so I make sure to specifically request that if ordering a chicken dish. If you order shrimp and wonder if it’s deveined, like I always wonder, it’s not. I find most places don’t, so I just don’t order shrimp anymore. You won’t be disappointed!

Cheap American Chinese take out food all too often goes way side to quality over affordable price, not the case here. Love the lo mein, not to gelatinous not to dry as «Lil Red Riding Hood» would say«just right» at $ 7 for a quart and the noodles and ingredients cooked nicely. Lunch combo specials at $ 6& dinner at $ 8. Now obviously they have great prices, but the chow(I couldn’t resist) is worthy of your patronage. Sizeable bang for the buck yes. Now do not expect by any means truly authentic Chinese cooking. This place caters to the typical americanized Chinese consumer that all too often tends to be the case in central and worse as you travel south or to more rural areas. There is about 3 tables and kinda dumpy, looks more like a gas station mini mart. No this is clearly a take out only joint. If you desire basic quick pick up to go chow at a nice savings then save their number in your contact list.

The service was good and the prices are really cheap. As a high school student, they allowed me to order from the For-College-Students-Only menu, which gave you a dish over rice and a drink for only $ 6. They even added something onto that menu that I wanted on the spot. They cooked quickly and the food was good

Quintessential take-out Chinese food. After growing accustomed to the awesome, cheap Chinese food in Jersey City, I realized I’ve become spoiled. Most of the Chinese in the E. Brunswick — Miltown area just doesn’t cut it. This place is one of few exceptions, and my new go to spot. Pretty much everything I’ve tried from Hunan Wok has been good. The lady is at the front is friendly, and you can grab your own sauce. The place itself doesn’t look great. It’s not very new or flashy, but that’s why you cant judge a book on its cover.

Located ½ mile from my house I often walk to Hunan. I like my food as fresh as possible so I never get delivery, and hardly ever call it in. I like to walk in and order. The girl at the front is always smiles and will make anything I order spicy or spicier. She doesn’t just take the orders and make it my problem is they screw up. Last time I watched her observe the cooks and make sure they added proper spice to my food. We all have our go to Chinese menu items and they make everything up to or above par.

This is one of the places that I go to regularly. The owners and workers are very friendly everytime we go in. Not to mention the hot and sour soup which is delicious compared to other soups I have had in the past. Also the brocolli with garlic sauce never disappoints and tastes the same each time it is made. I highly recommend this place-it’s worth the trip!

«I have a blah feeling — I need tea or something,» said my co-worker after eating her meal from Hunan Wok. Before I get too far into this, we had take out, it was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, and everything that we ordered was included in the bag. That part of it was all good. My team has unanimously decided to give our experience 2 stars, because truly — meh — we’ve experienced better. Overall the food was just food. There was nothing special about it that we could find. The sauces were generally overly think and the crab rangoons seemed as if they sat out for a long time. If you are looking for delivery in the area, I would search for another option before hitting up the Hunan Wok.
