Noah’s Ark Veterinary & Boarding Resort

I recently transferred to Noah’s Ark Vet from another vet after taking my cat to the same vet for 12 years. Immediately after my first visit, I knew it was the correct decision. Dr. Robertson is very compassionate and responsive. I definitely recommend this vet. They always make time to see us. I love how they check you out in the examination room so you don’t have to wait outside with other animals that may frighten your pet. They always follow up the next day to see how your pet is doing. And the facility is very clean— I thought this was a given with veterinary offices, but my old vet office was very dirty compared to this office. I felt very rushed at my old vet. The staff at Noah’s Ark takes time to visit with you and does not rush you along.

I took in my puppy for her first vet visit. I met with Dr. Robertson. She was very polite, sweet with my dog and knowledgeable. After receiving my dog’s lab results, it was nice to get a call from Dr. Robertson directly. Both the doctor and the tech were very helpful when answering all of my questions about my new dog. They gave me a welcome packet including information on raising a puppy and samples (heartworm and flea/​tick medication). After seeing how updated and clean the vet office is, I plan to start taking my dog to doggy daycare too. We will definitely be back to Noah’s Ark!

I’m a fairly new customer at Noah’s and I think this is one of the best clinics I’ve seen. It’s clean, well kept, and everyone is friendly and accommodating. My dogs have seen Dr. Hamilton and Dr. Robertson and each time the experience has been excellent. The costs associated with a visit aren’t bad at all, and I’ve never been pressured into buying anything.
For the boarding facilities. I can tell you this one is better than most I’ve seen. I don’t love boarding the dogs, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I know that at the very least, this facility has friendly staff, and onsite doctors and equipment that can deal with emergencies.
I read some weird reviews about people leaving their dogs for boarding and then picking them up and the dogs are scared or bummed out like it’s the kennel’s fault. I’ve got an idea. how about I take you from your comfy house, put you in a cage in a strange place with a bunch of strange other people in cages around you, and then see how you hold up when I come get you a week later. If you’re not ready for your dog to be a little freaked out (which is completely normal for most pets) when you drop them off for boarding, don’t leave your dog, weirdos. If you really want to, there’s pet hotels that charge $ 200 a night for your dog or cat to sleep in a single room by themselves with a pillow on the floor. I’m sure that won’t freak them out either.

We have loved our experience with Noah’s Ark. We use them for vet services and also the boarding services.

On July 24, 2015, we took our Boxer to Noah’s Ark for boarding services. We picked him up on August 1, 2015. After only a day of being home, he started experiencing a nasty cough, which developed into a cough so severe he could hardly breathe. He became lethargic and wouldn’t eat or drink. We rushed him to the emergency veterinarian shortly after the symptoms started. The vet indicated he was in very bad shape and that the reason for his illness was due to the bacteria Bordetella. They put him on IV antibiotics immediately. Hunter pulled through like a champ, but the trauma we suffered by almost losing him has been enough to put us on edge with Noah’s Ark.
Shortly after our Boxer’s illness, we reached out to Noah’s Ark, not only to inform them about the trauma he had suffered, but also to warn them that Bordetella was festering in their facility and that it would be wise to do a through clean. We were hopeful that they would at least cover the bills that were incurred at the emergency vet — after all, if they had taken better care of our baby, we wouldn’t have had to take him in the first place. Their agreement to this would have assured us that they were deeply sorry for all that they had caused due to their neglect. It didn’t quite work out like that though. The Manager repeatedly cited a clause in a homegrown contract that I had initialed.
It is our belief that one small clause in a homegrown contract should not excuse Noah’s Ark from having provided Hunter with the care they have led so many of us into believing they provide; his health and safety should have been put above all else. Instead of expressing their sincerest condolences upon his contraction of the bacteria and working with us to come to a mutually agreeable compromise, they placed the blame on us for not having reviewed the contract with a finer comb. It was extremely distasteful. It’s clear that if they had provided the services they claimed to have provided, they would have taken better care of our puppy, making sure to closely monitor the conditions he was subjected to.
It also concerns me that they include a rudimentary clause about Bordetella in this homegrown contract — it’s certainly indicative that it’s normal for the conditions that animals are subjected to in their facility to be consistently less than desirable, and that they’re worried so much so that they want to make sure to cover their carelessness, so that not if, but when animals do contract Bordetella, they can simply wash their hands of the issue. I’m curious to know how many others have been in our position? How many others weren’t lucky enough to have caught the bacteria in time? How many families have they caused pain and suffering due to their neglect?
Ask yourself, what would you do if it were evident that the establishment you entrusted the health and safety of your loved one failed them? This contractual clause that Noah’s Ark is choosing to stand behind certainly would not hold up if it were a human being, so why should it be any different for our puppy?
I would not recommend Noah’s Ark to anyone. If you’re looking for an amazing vet /​boarding facility, I would highly recommend Rocky Gorge in Laurel. We recently discovered them and are in love with the care and love that they give to our baby boy.

Dr Weistock is amazing ! She is one of the caring vets we have ever had. She treats all of our animals like one of her own. She calls back and checks on them and makes sure they are comfortable and goes the extra mile to make sure you understand what needs to be done and tell you all your options. She watches out for my pocket book in what drugs she prescribes. I love her but I will warn you the prices here have gone up quite a bit since we started coming to Noah’s Ark

Pay attention to the «not recommended» reviews that say at least 2 dogs have died or been paralyzed in their custody and the «good» review that says her dog died at their vet. I have boarded my dogs there for 10 yrs. bec. they are so convenient to the airport and for me getting to them if there is an issue. Though they’ve always taken on too many dogs (about 50 – 60 per staff member), they have gotten progressively worse in caring for them. True you can make an appt. to see the place, but if you try to walk back with your dog w/​out one, you will be met w/​resistance. The conditions were so bad once that my husband «broke out» my dog/​refused to board her upon seeing the back. The worst to this point was when they over-​booked and were going to put my dog in a cage in the VERY loud and caotic back grooming/​laundry area before they added on the salon while charging me for a «Suite». (That’s the last time I reserved a suite. The dog wouldn’t go back w/​out me or I would have never known.) The dogs flee for the door every time I pick them up and mope (won’t eat or drink) for a day afterward. I figured it was from not sleeping w/​the incessant barking — and I mean incessant, not just when someone walks back for a pick up. You can hear them up front the whole time you are there. No. It’s the care, or lack thereof. For $ 30/​day your dog will be in a 2×4′ box of a «run» and not be let out to relive himself. (They have doors to the outside. I used to have to coax my old dog back there every time and never saw them open.) My dog WILL NOT use the facilities where he sleeps if he is let out even once/​day. Every time, I leave a blanket for him since they call a scrap of a towel «bedding». (You can pay extra per day for 2 scraps.) Every time they refuse to give it back saying it is in the laundry. I work nearby and ask them to call when it’s out. They have never done so. Why is it in the laundry? I pay extra for «leash walks» so the dog can relieve himself where he is not sleeping. Besides all this, every time his bedding is soiled/“lost” in the laundry (w/​his name on it). This time my dog flew past me and wouldn’t leave the door while I paid and then refused to leave w/​out the blanket. (He moped and wouldn’t eat or go for a walk for 3 days afterward this time.) I told the clerk I had been told this time the blanket would not leave his cage. They finally gave it to me. While they were looking, the clerk said: «Here are the rest of his things, you’re welcome!» in a snarky tone. (I always leave extra food in case my flight would be delayed. It never comes back w/​him. Who are they giving it to? I suspect they throw it out so you don’t know the dog didn’t eat as not to crap where he sleeps.) I’m welcome? They tried to push me out the door 10 min. before offering them. If I hadn’t fussed I wasn’t entitled to his food? The clerk w/​the attitude had the nerve to say «you signed a waiver that said you wouldn’t get his stuff back». I said «no, I signed a waiver that I MAY not get his stuff back; that should be the odd occasion, not EVERY time over 10 yrs. She said «well, I’m sorry, we’re watching too many dogs»? Really? I am supposed to be o.k. w/​my dog crapping in his «bed» or not at all as supervision because you’re under-​staffed? I have fairly low standards w/​boarding facilities; I know they hire teenagers for next to nothing: feed the dog, leave him clean water, let him out 2x/​day to relieve himself, call me if he gets sick: fair for $ 30+ per day. A week after taking the dog and blanket home, I found out what the fuss was when I opened the neatly folded blanket… and found dried PUKE inside.(See «Photos»)Though I tell them to call me if there is any change in his behavior — day or night, they never called to tell me he was sick. I’ve also watched (this and other times) while the clerk who was understaffed w/​200 dogs told someone on the phone «he’s doing great» w/​out even radio-​ing someone to check on the dog the caller was inquiring about. ALSO, they made me get the dog a Bordatella shot the time before I boarded him last. (I don’t over-​vaccinate my dog w/​shots for cough; save the extras for Lyme.) When I called to reserve this time, they told me he needed a Bordatella shot. I said he got it a month ago: there! «We’ll need that record wherever he got it», she said & proceeded to argue w/​me that he got it there. He did, for $ 80! My vet had just seen him but they charged me for another annual exam bec. they hadn’t. What? Long & short, like I told them: if I wanted my dog to crap and pee (muchless throw-​up) where he slept or refuse eating as not to, and/​or have to see the vet, I would spare myself the $ 30/​day, muchless the EXTRA $ to let him out (its even more extra for «playtime» if you want them to pet him), leave him at the house unattended and wash my own linen when I returned. I’m a better dog owner than that. I will NOT be back. That he vomited & they did not call then tried to hide it alone is inexcusable.

When my Older Dog; Popeye got sick I took him to Noahs Ark because my daughter used to take her dog; Chi Chi there.
I ended up having to have Popeye put to sleep… but I must say that every staff member; especially Kristen and Lisa went out of their way to insure MY comfort. I cannot say enough about the way they treated us during a very ugly, difficult time.
Noahs Ark has a fan for life in me !!!1

They lowered the price for the DIY doggy wash for the second time. Bravo!

This review is for grooming services, particularly from Christy. She has been grooming our princess Koffee for a couple years now and her work is aalways impeccable. I like that the grooming area looks very clean and is completely open for pet owners to see what goes on. Christy has always been very sweet with our dog and I always feel like I’m leaving her with a trusted friend when I drop her off for grooming. She has never nicked or cut our dog’s skin and always dresses her with the prettiest bows and bandannas. I like that the grooming services seem personalized but don’t take too long and they even sometimes offer fun complimentary services like color highlights such as purple streaks for Ravens season! I know exactly how I want my dog cut when I take her for her appointments based on seasons, holidays, and special occasions and they have always executed my wishes flawlessly even taking special care not to cut a nail she broke badly until it grew back properly. I see some people drop their dogs off with no idea what they want or instructions for the groomer and then complain when they don’t like a style of cut. If you can describe what you like for your animal clearly & concisely, Christy can make it happen and they are reasonably priced… hands down best groomers we’ve experienced. One suggestion I’d like to see implemented is calls or emails for appointment reminders and a computerized appointment system that would allow for appointment confirmation search by name :)

I could not say enough that I really enjoyed the experience while I was at Noah’s. Dr. Bonistalli was fabulous! She went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and all of my questions were answered. I would recommend her for all of your pets needs

I will not give any stars for the haircut my dog received. I took my schnauzer in there recently. He went in looking like a shaggy schnauzer with hair mats. He came back looking like he got a buzz cut. He was cut the same length around his body and legs-​sort of a one length fits all deal. His «mustache» was trimmed back quite far. We’ve gone to several groomers in a few states around the US but found this particular haircut not good. Sadly, it was on my dogs birthday too.
I think what irritated me more than anything was I was asked to pay before even seeing my dog. Then when he was handed to me the employees disappeared.
We have made an appointment with our old groomer 30mins away to see if that can salvage my little guy’s haircut.
I don’t recommend this place for grooming.

Noah’s Ark is one of the very few groomers that consistently groom our golden-​chow and take care of him as if he was their own.
We’ve used the vet service when his a shots were out of date and wanted to get him groomed without having the travel to our vet In Mt. Carmel.
Would highly recommend. Great prices and friendly people who enjoy their jobs.

Penny Bright LOVES boarding and play days at Noah’s Ark. We recently moved back to the area and being able to board here again is one of the best parts of being back!
The groomers are also awesome!

Whenever I have to leave town, Noah’s Ark is the only place that I will call to board my 90 pound Plott Hound mix Killian. I have been boarding Killian there for the past 2 years and the staff always seems to be excited to see her as well. Dog’s don’t lie and I can tell that Killian loves the staff there as well.
When Killian is staying there for more than an overnight stay, I get her a bath and get her nails done. The groomers have yet to let me down. Killian comes back smooth, smelling good, nails trimmed, and most importantly… smiling!
The staff is very accommodating, the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Noah’s Ark and I look forward to working with them in the future.

My boyfriend brought our cat Fred (girl!) in here when she somehow injured her tongue. Poor lady. They diagnosed it as a chemical or electrical burn. Wah! We have no idea how that happened but nonetheless, Noah’s Ark helped us and took good care of Fred. They showed my boyfriend how to administer a syringe of meds in her mouth. The bill was not crazy either. A funny little thing they do that I thought was cute was take the animals face picture for their file and it comes printed out on your paperwork. Would definitely go back.
–Edit: I also brought our new cat Flash (4^th!) here to be spayed. The vet with the shirt dark hair, woman in her 50’s I think, was very nice and knowledgeable. They were able to keep her overnight (doctor was scheduling surgery for the next day) and did a good job with the surgery. Flash was back to herself in no time. My only small complaint was the vet tech didn’t let me know I would have more charges the next day for pickup. I thought the $ 68 I paid for a physical exam was it. But it was still another additional $ 113 for the spay.

My wife and I take our English Springer Spaniel puppy, Dallas, to puppy training class at Noah’s Ark. The trainer, Denise is amazing! She is wonderful with the dogs. She is very patient and loves what she does. Class starts at 7 and we have never left before 830. She is passionate, dedicated, and we’ve already recommended friends of ours with puppies to go to her as well. The staff at the front desk is very pleasant, always smiling and they love pups!

We brought our dog kennah (black pit terrier mix 50.6lbs) here 2 times. One for a skin allergy and the second for a groundhog encounter. The staff are very nice and made her feel at home and loved. The doctors are very thorough and nice as well. Not too expensive for what you get at a visit/​check up. So the care and the price you can’t beat. They even called me a day after to see how Kennah was doing. Highly recommend!

Today was my first time visiting Noah’s Ark vet. Office was very clean and everyone was very helpful. I has my son and my cat crate and they came out and carried the crate in for me. The exam room was bright and had lots of space. The treated my boys so gently and made them feel at ease (well at ease as much as they can). Great place for sure.

Large, clean, well-​run facility. I’ve used the grooming center every couple of weeks for about 4 years for my pug and my chihuahua. They’re reasonably priced and provide excellent service. Boarding has always been available when our family travels have required it, and my dogs always seem happy and well treated.
I also use the veterinary services for regular health maintenance. They’re caring, professional, and well-​informed. All questions are answered with concern and respect.
