Maritime Autowash II

Don’t waste your time! After paying 24.99 my car interior wasn’t clean. Instead the guys working weren’t. They were telling jokes and playing around. I had to ask them to wipe the foot wells and door wells if my black interior car. The rugs were still dusty and the mats were wet and still dirty. They are so busy up selling you for more visits, they don’t manage your current visit. I will never return.

Went there today (3÷1÷16) and realized why I don’t go there. The only reason I went is cause I have a gift card. Well as you can tell by the pictures I’ve provided this isn’t the first time this has happened. They don’t seem to clean the inside of cars very well. Hate going to this garbage of a place!

I got the Full Service #2 car wash and when I got home I had to finish washing my car. When the original owners had it not problem the new owners do not seem to care. If you want just the right and left side cleaned then go but the middle of backseat, dashboard, etc. never touch. Would have went back but running late and figured I would do a better job. For the price they want do not go better car washes around and better price.

You no longer get what you pay for. I canceled, and 3 friends have canceled too. Maritime switched owners this year to MR car wash. I was paying for the M6 full service. After management changed hands and fired all the good employees, who barely spoke English, I gave them a few months to get better with the new employees. They haven’t improved at all and management doesn’t seem to care. Now it’s a challenge just to get the new employees to even see the car is still dirty. They ask if I’m satisfied, and when I point out they haven’t cleaned the Windows, dried the floor mats they soaked, cleaned the mirrors, cleaned the dash, cleaned the bugs, they pat it down and ask if I’m good, again. As if they just plain can’t see anything any customer points out. I watch as other customers complain, and just give up and drive away. For the past 13 visits, I have ha d to grab the rag out of their hand and wipe the dirt off myself, 5 times I grabbed a spray bottle and cleaned the Windows myself, because they made them so dirty I couldn’t see. I believe in recycling water, but not spraying dirty water and grime from the cars in front of me all on my car, change the water filters guys!

Pricey for a car wash/​vacuum. I paid $ 29.95 for the «M6». The back of the car was still dirty after the car wash and the windshield had a lof of streaks on the inside. I can do better at the local carwash where for $ 10 I can get a decent wash and DIY vacuuming.

Worst car wash in Maryland. Girls that work there may make worth $ 30. They don’t even touch the interior. If you want a decent car wash go to Laurel MD or Georgia Ave Silver Spring just south of Beltway. This place is horrible.

So I roll in with my car, not knowing what to expect, and the attendants just kind of stand around smiling. I ask them what to do, and they say leave the car here and go inside. I do this, thinking, ok, I’ll just ask the people inside about the available wash options. When I get inside, the cashier asks what service I ordered. I tell her I didn’t order anything yet. She looks dumbfounded for a few seconds, and then asks again if I got the $ 23 service or the $ 29 dollar service. I repeat that I have not ordered anything. She says, oh, ok, they will automatically give you the $ 29 service. I ask her if the $ 23 service includes exterior and interior. She says no (which turns out to be completely false, see below). But my car had not been cleaned in awhile, so I go ahead and pay for it. When the car is finished, I ask the attendant which level of service they performed. The attendant says that everybody pretty much gets the same service, they don’t do anything extra for people who pay more.
When I got home, annoyed, I checked the website to see what $ 29 dollars was supposed to get me. It lists the following, none of which I actually got:
Wax
Tire Shine
Wheel cleaner
UV protectant
Undercarriage rinse
Odor neutralizer
…and more. As it turns out, there is a regular exterior AND interior wash option for $ 17.95, including a simple wash, vacuum, wipe, which is exactly what I got. The cashier lied, so I essentially paid double. Thanks for the rip off, Maritime.

I used to come here all the time and got great service. Today I went for the first time in about two months and asked for the m6. I go in to pay and the guy gave me a receipt with the m2, so I asked the cashier to change it to the m6. I pay for the m6 and she says she’ll tell them to switch it. Long story short, the car was still dirty when it was done 5 minutes later, and the dash and center console hadn’t been wiped down at all. Horrible job. Never going back.

This place has went down hill quickly over the last 1.5 months or so. New management + new crew have resulted in shorter lines (clearly people are canceling VIP memberships), longer wait time and a total lack of trust. As Cathy below, I am pretty sure I had a pair of expensive sunglasses stolen from my vehicle. I always leave in the same spot in my car. Went to put on about a week after having my car washed and they weren’t there.

New management got rid of all the employees on the vacuums & hand dryers. BAD IDEA! «LEGAL» good help is apparently hard to find.

Recently sold and had a complete turnover in staff. Time will tell if service degrades. For now it is just slower.

My boyfriend took my car over to this place today (3÷28÷15) and after spending $ 30 he inspected the car and the undercarriage had not been done… nor did they wipe down the wheels or fully vacuum the interior… because he got indignant they called the police on him… in the end he had to wipe it down himself.
I am in the car now and the windows are cloudy and the interior sucks. I will never go back to this place and do not recommend this car wash at all.
If I could give no stars I would because that is what they deserve.
****REVIEW UPDATE****
On 7.18.2015 I went back to get my FREE makeup car wash and although the manager that I spoke to is no longer with the organization, the new company honored what happened. I will say that they missed a few spots on the floor near the door but other than that its been 4 days and my tires still look great! OH and it rained later in the day that I got my car washed and my car still looks great. The scent used inside was the best smell outside of the new car smell that my car has ever had. So I am changing my review to reflect 3 stars because no ones perfect!!!

RIP OFF!
I paid almost $ 300 to have my van «super cleaned» and waxed. I also had the seats steam cleaned. I was told that my van would look like new. I asked them to take out the middle row seats so that they could clean under them better. I even removed the center console so they could easily clean under it then just pop it back into place afterwards.
When I got the car back, there was still debris under the seats along with puddles of dirty water where the seats latch into the floor. They just put the center console back without even cleaning under it. the rear view mirror had fingerprints on it and the rear glass wasn’t cleaned.
I took it back and the manager said that it wasn’t cleaned to his satisfaction either so he sent it back to get cleaned again. When I arrived to pick it up, the manager said that they couldn’t clean it properly because it was too cold outside and their chemicals were freezing. I inspected it and there was still trash under the seats. How hard is it to vacuum up a straw wrapper and a piece of candy that was still in it’s wrapper? He said to bring it back when it gets warmer.
It is three weeks after I took it to get detailed and I washed the van myself. The wax job didn’t even hold up! There is absolutely no water beading anywhere on the van. My truck, which I washed at the same time is still beading and I waxed it last fall. I wasn’t going to leave a negative review until this happened. This was the last straw.
This place might be good for a basic car wash but don’t waste your money on any of the extras. Go to a professional car detailer.

Watch the guys at this place. They sometimes charge you more without telling you. I always ask for M2 which cleans the car inside and out but they often put M4 ($ 4 more) on the ticket without saying anything. So always check your ticket before leaving your car. Also several times they have charged me $ 5 more because my car was «dirty» which is the lamest thing ever. In some cases the dirt was road salt or in fall a few leaves. So watch for hidden charges and upsells. I think I managed to get through here once paying the basic $ 17.95.

If i could give zero stars I would…
I came here to get my car washed the day before my wedding. When the car came out there were stains on my seats and a snap in piece missing from the front of my car. The guy that was working was very nice, they washed my seats and the stains came out however they couldn’t look for the piece to my car since the wash was working on others. They wrote it up and I had to get to my rehearsal. Later that day I got a call the piece was found — YAY! told them i would get it once i was back from my honeymoon…
And then… all of a sudden no one knew where the piece to my car was… fine they would buy one and install it… well, I got my car washed September 18, 2014, sent info about my car October 13^th and here we are December 20^th and still no part for my car.
At first Shane was very accommodating telling me it would be about a week or two. That turned into another week. Then he went ghost. Finally he responded again the week of thanksgiving saying he was going to have someone bring it to him and i could pick it up the following friday — well — friday came and i got an email stating the person hadn’t dropped it off yet.
Then I call again the following week and he says it’s getting painted and he will have it for me that friday… I’M SORRY WHAT!!! YOU TOLD ME YOU HAD IT READY WEEKS AGO!!!
I go in Friday and shane is no where to be found, no one knows where the piece is and he has yet to answer my call or text.
It’s a simple little piece to a car, not anything crazy over priced.
I will never go here again and I will absolutely never let anyone I know go here. Whoever the owner is should really re-​evaluate their staff, specifically Shane, his customer service is an all time low, I wasn’t asking for special treatment or a free wash or anything, all i wanted was the piece to my car.
I wasn’t even going to write a review because i really didn’t care enough to as long as my car was fixed.

If I could give negative stars I would. My grandmother brought her car here to get it detailed ($ 91 later) and when she got it back they had RUINED her car. They used oil that got in the computer system and completely broke it costing her $ 5700 to replace. Additionally, when she got the car back, they hadn’t even vacuumed under the rugs and there were crumbs still in the seats. Just horrible. Avoid this place at all costs.

Had a membership here for about a year, the first few times I was extremely impressed! The car came out beautiful, completely dry, vacuumed, tires shined, windows clear as can be. Next few times I went same deal perfection, that’s when I decided on the membership. That’s when everything went to 3 stars.
Went and I had water spots all on my plastic trim, and water dripping down my windows as I drove, now this wouldn’t normally bother me but a car wash is $ 49.95!!!
The next time I went I asked if they could dry my plastic first due to it getting weird streaks, the worker ensured me they would and all would be well. But was once again disappointed, vacuum was half done, windows were streaky and they never put tire shine on… And it took almost 55 mins for me to get my car back. Which would have be understandable if everything would have been completed.
Many situations happened like this time and time again, and I kept giving them chances cause they were friendly and had good customer service which is the only reason I’am giving 3 stars.
I ended up getting a new car which is black and decided to cancel my membership, I was close to canceling before but I would definitely never take a black car there… Swirl swirls swirls no way, hand washing for here on out.

Lack of attention to detail for the price. Lots of tricky up charges. Things overlooked. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come back. Staff not knowledgable about their own processes.

Not sure about the negative reviews of this place. For the service they offer, they do a very good job and prices are decent especially if you have the monthly. I have the monthly VIP so, I’m in 2 – 3 times a week to keep things clean. They’ve taken wonderful care of my Acura TL and I often get comments about how good it looks. It’d be nice if the VIP included some special things every few months or so (hand wax, etc), but I’m not complaining.
I’ve never done the advanced hand services, the prices seem expensive but reasonable for a true detailing.
I haven’t found the wash extras they offer to really be worth it… my wheels end up just as clean with or without the «wheel cleaning». I will get the Rain-​X treatment here and there if I’m feeling too lazy to do it at home myself. :)
The waiting area has computers, Internet, TV and magazines, and generally a good music selection playing. The counter girls are always friendly, and generally a good sight…
I’ve been a member for almost two years, and always been very happy with the services provided.

Unethical/​Probably illegal business practices
When I arrived, and was asked what I wanted, I indicated that I just wanted a basic interior/​exterior cleaning. Asked then if I wanted special wheel shine and after wax. I said no. I was given a receipt and went inside to pay. I noticed that I had been charged for the more expensive service that included the features I was asked about and declined. The clerk at the desk modified the charge.
The important thing is that this has happened the past two times I have been there. To knowingly charge a customer for services decline is an unethical business practice and is probably illegal. It is obviously intended to charge for service not wanted in hope the customer will not notice or protest.
I will never go again even though it is very close to my home.
