When we were visiting Amish town, we asked the locals which restaurant they recommend and they recommended Mrs. yoder’s Kitchen as their favorite. They were absolutely right on with their recommendation. The food was absolutely delicious! The place is very clean and the atmosphere is peaceful with great service. We couldn’t help notice that many locals hose to eat there-which is a good sign since they know where the best food is in the areA.

This place is an excellent choice of a restaurant if you like buffets and love homemade Sunday dinner type comfort food like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and pot roast among many others. When you first walk in there is a good chance that there will be a wait for a table since this place is really popular. However, don’t let that deter you from eating here as the restaurant is really good sized with plenty of tables and a very efficient seating system. The seating turn around is very fast with a table opening up every few minutes. Just walk up to the person at the host station and tell them your name and how many people in your party. I had three people in my party and the restaurant was filled to capacity with several groups ahead of me when I first arrived and I only waited 10 minutes maximum for a table. Now on to the food. They have an amazing array of choices. My personal favorites were the fried chicken, the BBQ pork ribs(delicious, tender, and perfectly flavorful), mashed potatoes, and the clam chowder. The BBQ pork ribs were so tender and perfectly cooked I could have dined on those alone for hours. The BBQ sauce was just sweet and tangy enough. The fried chicken was just the right amount of crispy. The clam chowder was to die for, so creamy amd flavorful. They also have a good sized salad bar with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. There are several desserts too. The rhubarb jello was my favorite. They bill themselves as making everything homemade and the quality of the food shows it. Atmosphere here is pretty good and the restaurant is very clean and welcoming. Perhaps the best thing about this restaurant is that it seems to be popular among the local Amish population as there were many of them here dining. It was a very nice and memorable experience to eat a delicious meal amongst Amish locals in the heart of the world’s largest Amish country. Price can’t be beat at $ 11.99 you get a large selection of all you can eat delicious homemade food.

Come for the fried chicken. It is seriously amazing. We got the buffet. It was $ 12.49, included a soup, a salad bar, fried chicken, ham, a meatloaf, fresh bread and lots of sides. Everything was good. I really enjoyed the chicken noodles. I liked this place better than Der Dutchman, but the menus are similar. In my opinion, however, Yoder’s fried chicken is far superior. They have a carry out special 12 pieces of chicken, potato wedges and coleslaw for $ 20.99. That’s a great deal.

Excited to try a new restaurant in Amish Country. Very disappointed. Had the dinner buffet & actually left hungry. Who has ever left Amish Country without their belly full?! The entrees were fried chicken(all dark meat), pot roast(dry), pork chops(only thing I ate), & mashed potatoes(lumpy). The salad bar was decent but I prefer to have eggs which were not an option. We sat for 15 mins with no waitress & no drinks. I had to get up & ask if we could just get a plate & eat! Do not recommend.

Great restaurant in Amish country with a buffet. We were there for Saturday lunch, and they feature their buffet on Saturdays. There was a great salad bar spread in addition to the hot food choices. Under adventurous foods to try… Hubby liked the mustard egg but passed on the red beet egg due to an unknown origin hatred of beets. I would go back for the fried chicken, the homemade stuffing, and the bread alone. Seating is plentiful and we didn’t have to wait too long for a table. There is a gift shop to browse whole waiting. I liked that several Amish families were eating there as well, indicating that it was a local favorite. In fact we parked right across from several horse and buggies waiting for their owners. There is a menu you can order off of, but after seeing the buffet, we thought«why bother!» Servers were kind and quick. And the prices were great for all we got. The lunch buffet was about 12.50 per person. Overall I really enjoyed this place and would definitely go back. Suggestions for improvement: We bought some of their homemade pickles from the gift shop, but unless I missed it, it would be nice to have them added to their salad bar, so we could taste the different varieties and see what we liked best. While I loved seeing how busy this place was(telling me it was a well appreciated restaurant), they could use more waiting room and/or seating for those waiting for a table. It was very crowded. Finally, the ladies bathroom could have used a little more attention, since it was a high-traffic area.

Today was my 2nd time at Mrs Yoder’s Kitchen. Again I had the buffet. Love the chicken and mashed potatoes with noodles. I suggest breast. Salad bar is good too with lots of choices. I like the broccoli salad and strawberry-rhubarb jello. A 5 for me is a «this food is to die for». This place is good, not great so a 3 from me. Always busy and you will get plenty to eat for about 12 $.

My wife & I stopped here after driving through Amish Country. A neighbor had mentioned that it was a nice place so we decided to stop. We got there at a good time because they were not busy. We were seated right away & the waitress explained what was on the menu. I had the buffet which included broasted chicken, meatloaf, noodles, mashed potato’s & a salad bar for $ 11.99. My wife ordered the chicken & she was able to go to the salad bar as one of her side dishes. They also have pie’s & cakes for dessert. We were quite pleased & left with our bellies full. There was a waiting period for people as we were leaving. We plan to return.

Our party of eight dined at Mrs. Yoder’s last week for lunch. Like most of the patrons, we all went through the buffet. This restaurant is known for its fried chicken and I understand why — it’s delicious. Good, home-cooked, comfort foods abound at Mrs. Yoder’s. The best restaurant in Amish Country. If you stop by on Monday, be sure to sample the tomato basil soup. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I didn’t have dessert, but several people in our party said the home made peach pie was delicious. I will definitely go back the next time I’m in the area.

Took my husband here for breakfast when we were taking a day trip in the area, maybe about a year ago. We were looking for some good old-fashioned homemade biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and other food we had were fine, but I would swear the gravy tasted like it came out of a can(tasted just like Libby’s to us). Not sure why a restaurant going for a reputation of «homemade» would choose to serve canned sausage gravy on their yummy biscuits. Making at least fairly decent sausage gravy from scratch is not really that hard. Service was good and the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and like I said, the other food was good. I guess I’m going with just two stars out of sheer disappointment, because we had such high expectations of getting delicious, homemade gravy. I would say if they ditched the canned gravy for homemade, this place would have potential of getting four or five stars from me.

My family and I love this place. At first glance it’s just another Holmes-county Ohio«Amish» cuisine restaurant. but they’re a notch above many similar choices. The food tastes less institutional(i.e. more«homemade») which provides the illusion of a kitchen staffed by my grandma, your grandma, and other grandmas all cooking«farmer» breakfasts old school. I enjoy that our family of four frequently shares the dining room with large(20+) Amish groups all seated at long tables together. For rural Ohio it’s a nice cultural experience for our children(and our daughter loves seeing the horse-drawn buggies coming and going on our drive down). I withhold five star ratings for that mythical«perfect» restaurant that I’ve yet to find. That said, my four stars here represent a top choice in my books and we’ll be back time and again.

While staying in Amish country, we thought we should stop somewhere to get a hearty lunch. We both got the buffet option. I loaded up on salad — nothing to write home about there, just a typical salad bar. However, the fried chicken was AMAZING, if a little bit salty. I am not a huge fried chicken person, so finding fried chicken I love is a feat. Definitely saw a few tables with Amish families dining, which as the other reviewers mentioned, made me think this is definitely a local’s favorite. My fiancé and I loved the peanut butter spread — now I wish we had bought some!

Definitely better than the Berlin Farmstead if you’re in the Berlin area looking for some good ol’ Amish food. Not as nice of a building, but the food is definitely better. Standard Amish buffet food applies and it’s super tasty. Broasted chicken, the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had, and some slightly subpar noodles are the main events. Add in roast beef that’s a notch above and a good salad bar and you’ve got a recipe for success. Would definitely stop here again if I was in the area.

Mrs. Yoder really knows her way around a kitchen. This is not like the typical tourist trap Amish restaurants you find in Amish country. Everything on the menu is made from scratch and you can taste the quality and freshness in everything. The menu has all the comfort food staples. I recommend the buffet with salad bar, it has allot of the same entrée items on the menu and is a great way to sample a little bit of everything. They have great homemade pies and deserts. I recommend the date cake it’s a moist cake topped with caramel sauce and fresh whipped cream. Wednesday for lunch is a great time to go if you want see the Amish as Wednesday is sale day at the livestock auction. Try to be there by 11:00 because it will be a busy lunch due to the auction. We’ve always gotten great service, very quick and helpful. I rate this a 5 star restaurant because there isn’t anything that I think needs to be improved upon.

Drove past this place the night before we went and noticed quite a few buggies here, so the next night we stopped in. It was busy(Saturday night at 6) but we were seated immediately. It is larger than it looks from outside, so it wasn’t quite packed. Didn’t know there was a buffet; that seemed to be the draw, and we went for it too. Lots of Amish in here, customers and staff. And plenty of good food. If you’ve been to Der Dutchman, it’s similar fare but better. Fried chicken, roast beef, meatloaf, assorted sides, and a big salad bar. Everything fresh and tasty. I went up several times. Prices are reasonable. Service is great. We’d definitely go back.

Quite the popular place. It was very busy in the early afternoon. Although there was a crowded lobby and a wait for the table, seating seemed to go fairly quick. Nothing really fancy about the restaurant, just plain, simple and good. Tables are a bit close together. Good home cook styled food. Its not a large menu and the main event seemed to be more about the buffet. There was a good size salad bar with many different options. Fresh baked bread, either white or wheat. The buffet offered fried chicken, meatloaf and pot roast the day we visited. I particularly enjoyed the mashed potato’s topped with chicken & noodles. Other available side options was corn, green bean casserole and stuffing. There were a couple soups available, too. The food was fairly traditional without a lot of seasoning; simple, tasty and good.
