Worst ribs my wife and I have ever had. Package rolls that were dried out. The ribs were microwaved hot and had no flavor. The sauce is nothing to brag about either. Place was empty when we got there on a Saturday night at 10 till 6 pm. We now know why. Go else where unless you just enjoy bad pork and like throwing it out.

Great BBQ sandwich. Very filling and cooked to perfection. Get the BBQ sandwich special. Comes with fries and a drink!

Good, simple, Georgia BBQ. Adequate amount of smoke on the ribs. Thin, vinegary sauce with a subtle kick. Perfect coleslaw(which marries perfectly with that sauce, soaking into a bun along with the pulled pork sandwich). The Baked beans are sweet, tangy, and loaded with meat. Some of the best sweet tea you’ll find in the South.

I’ve been eating at Old Clintons for years. This location is fairly new but it’s still the same great pulled pork. Slaw is good. Stew is good. Can’t go wrong. I buy a few lbs of pulled pork everytime I’m in town.

Famous BBQ right here in Lake Country. Two suggestions: their pork rinds & lemonade. You’re welcome.

BBQ was good. No complaints there. It was smoked, pretty well. The sauce was a great vinegar based sauce with a little spice which was nice. The fried pickles were pretty bad, but they’re a bbq place so that’s cool. Here’s why I gave them two stars: some prick employee started talking crap about a customer that had just walked out the door. No, he wasn’t in the back where no one could hear him, he was directly behind the ordering counter. What the heck are you thinking? Especially while me another couple were sitting at the front waiting for our food! Sure, the customer might have parked like a douche but that doesn’t give you any grounds as an employee of a business to say the things you said. If I was in charge at that place, I’d make that little turd ferguson pick the lint out of the customers butt crack.

I came here twice so far. Once for ribs– didn’t care for them. They tasted dried out, chewy. The other time I went through the drive through for some shredded pork BBQ. I would get that again in a heartbeat. Good stuff, they had a great sauce with it.

I wish I had read some other reviews before eating here but it was right next to my hotel, I was starving, and it was bbq. Unfortunately, Old Clinton fell way short of meeting my expectations so I’ll make this short. First, I love all bbq – texas, kansas city, south carolina mustard-based, nc vinegar-based, etc. I just need for the meat(I had chopped pork) to be tender, flavorful and smoky. The meat here was fairly tender… that’s about as good as it got for me. The baked beans were not sweet enough or smoky enough for my tastebuds and the brunswick stew – I’m so sorry – but it was disgusting to me. The prices were also high for the portions. I feel bad about writing a negative review but hope it will possibly give the cooks something to think about since there were other negative reviews.

Not so great. The Brunswick Stew wasn’t adequately seasoned and the chicken had no smoke in it. The pork sandwich was served with no plate so I ate it over the tray so I wouldn’t drip all over the table.

Good Chopped pork sandwich. A little messy but in my book that’s a good thing. Slaw goes well with the pork but the stew wasn’t the best I have ever had.

Too many folks try to sound like Guy Fieri or Adam Richman when it comes to describing BBQ. With that being said, here’s my take: Not every experience will be the magical«sweep you off your feet experience». Why? Because Old Clinton BBQ just isn’t that. Every time I’ve been in either the Milledgeville or Gray location, the staff is friendly, kind, and courteous… Something that most other restaurants lack nowadays. I grew up on Old Clinton from my grandmother bringing it to my parents house when travelling from Milledgeville to Macon or vice versa. Having grown up with Old Clinton, I’ve never experienced anything less than a delicious taste. I am picky about coleslaw, as is everyone, but I’ve found that Old Clinton meets my standards. All in all, go to Old Clinton if you want BBQ, not a trip to Disney World

Pulled into the Milledgeville location in the middle of a long drive. Had eaten at the Gray location; this one didn’t strike me as being of the same caliber. Counter staff was just sorta there. It wasn’t busy, but they didn’t care to give expansive answers to my questions. Pretty much just yes, no, it comes with this. I found the Brunswick stew to be blah. The pulled pork was tasty, and I think there were pickles in the cole slaw. Posted signs warned against stealing the sauces from the tables. Likely won’t stop by again.

Old Clinton Bar-B-Q isn’t what I would consider to be real southern bbq. I’ve never been to the famous location in Old Clinton(Gray), but have been to this location in Milledgeville several times over the past few years. The service here is ok, just a bunch of young kids trying to make a buck. The food isn’t all that great. The pork has always been rather dry, chopped a little too fine, and the sauce has a very vinegar tasting base to it; I prefer a smokey flavor when ordering BBQ. The Brunswick stew here is horrible, taste like it is Hormel’s canned Brunswick stew; so I’m not sure they actually make this from scratch. And the prices for Milledgeville are pretty steep for what you get. The location and the building here is nice; easy to get in and out of. The service at the drive-thru has always been pretty friendly, but can be slow at times. Old Clinton is alright if you are looking for some Q and not wanting to drive a little further to get some BBQ from Paradise BBQ down the street.

This barbecue joint knows what they’re doing. You can drive-thru, carry out or order at the counter and sit down. The portions are really generous for the price. Other reviewers have complained about the sauce, but they stick with their recipe and I appreciate that. They don’t drench the meat with the sauce when they serve it & they always give you some on the side so you can add as much as you’d like. If you’re looking for a thick and sweet sauce, go try any grocery store. This is the real thing. It works great on the chicken and the pork sandwich. The beans and slaw were good sides. I’m going to have to try the ribs sometime soon. But I’m definitely going to make this a regular spot.

Wandered in here while on business jaunt. I loved it! Super clean, friendly people(«what cani doya for sir»?) and great BBQ. I had the BBQ combo plate with a tea and it was around 8 bucks which aint bad(at least for Atlanta prices). I agree with the reviewer below, the sauce was a bit tangy, but I added hot fire to me and burned the tanginess out. recommend

Yummy, tender pulled pork sandwiches, good slaw(«freezer» style as we call it in the midwest, with lots of veggies chopped very fine) and sweet tea, ok potato salad. My lunchmate liked his brunswick stew, though it tasted more like pozole to me– a lot of sweetness from onion and corn. I agree that they could offer an alternative sauce if you do not like it thin and tangy. Lucky for me that I do. A good place to visit after Andalusia– it’s right across the street. Much cleaner and a little less friendly than I’d imagined Red Sammy’s, which is probably for the best.

I have been twice and the only complaint i have is about the barbecue sauce i think they could offer maybe a thicker sweeter sauce as well. I did like the amount of food you get for the price and also the variety of sides i wasnt crazy about the brunswick stew it was a little too thick but the fries, baked beans, potato salad, and i highly recommend the jalepeno poppers.

Old Clinton has been making barbeque longer than I’ve been alive. They’re well into their 50th year, though I’m guessing the Milledgeville location is much more recent. I came in with high expectations based on word of mouth. Alas, Old Clinton let me down. The problem here is the pork. The chopped pork is overwhelmed with the overly tangy sauce that should have been an option in one of their little plastic squeeze bottles. I can get into tangy, but I prefer moderate doses, and when the sauce is strong enough to turn your tongue sideways, maybe it is too tangy? Here, the pork comes already tangulated and it hurts what looked to be fresh pork. The stew was good, typical of this part of middle Georgia. Sides are limited to the usual suspects and I went with cole slaw that was far from the kind you’d write home about. Service was nice and the place was clean. I wanted to like it, but Old Clinton didn’t pass my taste test. I may yet try the original location. After all, with 50 years making barbeque, maybe I just got a bad batch.
