It feels really kind of morbid to write a review about a cemetery, but Memory Hill is a cemetery that is filled full of history; some good and some bad. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the historic district of Milledgeville. The cemetery itself is really quite peaceful and gets many tourists here due to it’s rich history. Those buried here include American Revolution, Civil War, and WWI/WWII vets as well as other wars; also graves of slaves from the dark period in Milledgeville’s history, a couple of «witches», a train robber, a few writers, politicians, etc .It is just full of history. Contact the dept of tourism when you are in town for a ride on the trolley and guided tour.
