I’m a big fan of Hamptons in general, just not this one and today was the last straw. Got in late, up early and went to take a shower. Didn’t realize until I was in the shower that an open shampoo container and left over soap were still in the shower from the last guest. Then realized there was still a leftover towel still hanging from the last guest — clearly the bathroom had not been cleaned from the last guest. How gross. Complained to the front desk, supposedly the assistant manager, who said she’d have manager call me when he came in at 8. By 11:30, no call. I called back and desk clerk said the manager had just gotten in 30 minutes ago and I should«give him time to settle in». Really? The manager called me back in about 30 minutes(settled in, I guess) and simply said«what’s the matter» and I told him I wanted to use Hampton’s 100% satisfaction guarantee refund. He said he’d give me a comp room on my next stay and I explained I’d never stay there again. Amazingly, he then started berating me for not being nicer to his staff. Other than telling the clerk«screw you» when he said the manager was settling in, there was no confrontation. The manager was more interested in lecturing me than apologizing for not getting the room cleaned or making this right. This is not a particularly clean, nice Hampton and needs work. I’d stay across the street at the Marriott branded hotel — and I’m Honors Diamond. Just not a good property. My complaint is now at the corporate level.

I was on a drive from North Carolina to Chicago and stopped here on the way to get some sleep. The quick rundown: –The room I was in was nice and look recently renovated –The hotel itself is still older in the halls/public areas –Every time a door closes all the doors in the whole hall rattle –The breakfast was tasty and had a waffle maker –The location is super easy for gas and freeway access –It has a small gym and a small pool as well Note low numbered rooms(301 – 310) are near the front and high numbers(330) are near the back for parking purposes. I’d ask for far to stay away from the road in the morning and avoid the noise. For 89 bucks a night it is hard to complain, it’s a totally passable hotel.

Nice staff, clean hotel directly across from a Tanger outlet mall(where you can find exciting values marked up 200% before being drastically slashed up to 50%) But, this isn’t about the outlet mall, it’s about where to stay ½ way between the Mid-South and a trip home to New York. I believe this is the spot, almost to the inch according to GPS. I like Hilton hotels. On each visit I was«upgraded» to a hot tub room, ooh what a treat! When I can barely get over the fact I am sleeping on a pillow that a stranger used a few hours before me, the last thing I want is to sit in an in-room hot tub used for whatever! This hotel is clean, service is very friendly and helpful. Only tip is to avoid rooms close to the elevator machine room as it is a bit noisy. Approved!

This is a decent, older style Hampton. It’s three levels and fairly small, but does have a nice indoor pool. The carpet in my room was funky stuff, but looked clean. Critically, the bed and bathroom were spotless. This place will work. Lady at the front desk was fast, efficient, and professional. Well done. This location is surrounded by restaurants, mostly fast food plus a few sit-downs, and the outlet mall is right across the street. Bonus — There is an open electrical outlet next to the bed, so I can charge my iPhone/alarm clock!!!
