Great place! The fried ice cream was the highlight of our meal and I highly recommend it. Staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, a perfect place for lunch!

The food were terrible and we ordered grilled chicken one and got one with non-grilled soaked in the sauce. Real bad one! Will not come back. Caused us some bad headaches and nausea!

From the moment we sat down the service was atrocious. To start, the waitress got my drink order wrong; no big deal. Then the server goes and pours water into my Sprite before asking and the subsequently spills water all over the table. He comes back 10 minutes later with a cup filled to the brim with ice containing ~30% Sprite. Then he zones out for 30 seconds as he’s handing me the glass. He’s literally just staring out the window with both of us holding the cup! Then proceeds to pull it away and set it down, spilling Sprite on our food in the process. Honestly wish I could give negative stars.

Mexican can be a simple thing to make but Tingas puts there own twist on there dishes to make people excited about the food. There burritos are giant and can really feed 2 people. There quesadillas are delicious they use quality white meat chicken. Every table gets chips and Salsa. Tingas is also a BYOB. They have great appetizers some Mexican some not and their deserts are amazing! They always have music playing which give it a nice atmosphere while eating. If your in Millburn or Westfield. I high recommend visiting either location both are great and both have outside seating.

Servers were great. Responsive, prompt, and polite. Venue was colorful, casual, and accommodating to a family of four(including 2 young kids). The food, however, was very mediocre. They initially serve you chips and salsa. The salsa was very generic-tasting, almost like the supermarket brand of Chi-Chi’s. The guacamole was better. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken fajitas wrap — for an extra $ 1, you can get peppers and onions. Typically, fajitas come with peppers and onions, but ok. I asked for the spiciest sauce they had, and they recommended the Spicy Sofrito Sauce. The chicken in the wrap was like jerk chicken, which was fine. I typically expect strips of chicken with fajitas. The chicken was very, very salty. There were hardly any onions and peppers in the wrap. Next to the wrap was a tiny scoop of shredded lettuce with bits of tomatoes, presumably for the wrap. And the Sofrito Sauce was barely spicy and not that delicious. My husband got the salmon salad and was disappointed with that as well. Again, the service was good but the food really missed the mark.

Held an «after hours» party here. Food was amazing, as was the process to arrange the party. So helpful, professional and friendly. Thoroughly recommend, big shout out to Cassie for being an amazing host.

Consistently fresh. Nice people working there. It’s our«what should we get for dinner» standby.

WORSTMEXICANFOOD I EVERPAIDFOR. the food was SOGGY and lacked a fresh taste. everything was canned and there was zero flavor. to make things worse, there was no salt or pepper to help. trash service from the waiting staff and the water tastes straight from the sewer! I had to leave and purchase elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, ever!

Had the shrimp quesadilla. Felt it was okay… nothing special. The quesadilla just had cheese and shrimp inside and nothing else. There weren’t any sides provided which made the meal less exciting. You expect Mexican to have some sort of kick… not this meal.

Fantastic experience. The service is so wonderful and not once have a had a bad waiter or waitress. The best nights to come in are Sunday and Monday. There is such a great, chill vibe and the food is just amazing. Not only are they a Mexican restaurant, but they have really tasty bbq. Totally a fan of Tinga!

It’s the only game in town as far as mexican goes, but they are pretty low on flavor. Seasoning and salt must be in short supply here. Chili is absolutely inedible. Not a place I’m make a special trip to, especially when a restaurant can’t even top a chain like chipotle.

Just not good. Food was not cooked to order. Taco shell was soggy and stale at the same time. Waiter was odd.

Price Gouging on New Years Day at its finest! We ordered $ 63 of food, with tax included. The final cost was $ 10 more than the website had advertised on their menu. When we asked the guy, he told us that they upped the prices. They would not have told us this if we didn’t ask, and did not indicate this at all when giving the total to us. In my opinion, the food was mediocre at best– I don’t even know if my burrito had beef in it. In my opinion the dishonesty and disvalue for the customer, and the food quality is not worth the cost.

Picked up dinner from Tinga Taqueria of Millburn tonight. They completely screwed up my order and couldn’t have cared less when I called back to tell them. The Manager Carl was very flippant and unapologetic. They charged me for items that were not in my bag. So they have my money and I only have part of a meal. Not cool. Terrible customer service!

My cuz goes here constantly. She loves it. So I finally had an oppty to meet up with her and we went here. Her son ordered shrimp quesadilla. Lots of shrimp and good size even for a kid menu. My daughter had shrimp avocado salad with what must have been close to 2 whole avocados. She said it was absolutely delicious. My cousin has chicken tacos with bbq sauce and I had a bite quite delicious. Hubby had chicken tinga burrito. Extremely large and he said just ok. I had steak tacos and well just ok sums that up. The tacos are soft taco with steak in the bottom. very very little steak. Covered in a ton Of lettuce and some tomato salsa. and then inside a hard shell taco. Makes eating a lot easier. Frankly just ok. Service was really good. Folks are great. They make virgin cocktails and you can byob and add to it.

After a not-so-satisfying dinner at a sushi restaurant, we went to Tinga for another entrée. I’ve passed by this place many times, looked sort of cool but never walked in until last night. Laid back, indie café looking Mexican joint. I ordered two tacos, rice and beans. The only real issue was the meat, too sweet. I asked the server if they put Mexican cinnamon or sugar in the seasoning, he asked the kitchen and they did use cinnamon. i know some regions in Mexico do this but I personally think it adds nothing and takes away from a good savory taco. He offered to take it off the menu, and since that was all I ordered, I could walk away. But I said to charge me because that’s the way the house makes it and as a diner I should take the hit. The taco itself was fine. However, as a suggestion to the owner/chef, you should describe the taco as being«sweetened with cinnamon» or something like that on the menu. Sweet taco meat is a departure from the norm and if the purpose of the description is to describe, then this is an important note. Mind you, it wasn’t overbearing, just not to my liking. Maybe chef Rick Bayless, the king of fine Mexican cooking in the US, would disagree. If they ever offer a non sweet version, I’ll definitely go back.

Anytime I’m in the mood for Mexican I try to make it over to Tenga. And as much as I want to try something new I could never resist the Picadillo burrito. I believe they add cinnamon and peas to their meat which really makes them stand out and gives their ground beef a flavor I haven’t really experienced in other Mexican restaurants. The place is small which is great because everyone, down to the manager runs food, drinks and everyone is ALWAYS friendly.(Sometimes to a fault) They are byob and have a mango and lime margaritas machine. So if you are of age, bringing a small bottle of tequila is ideal. I’ve heard great things about other meal options they offer but I just can’t mess with a good thing.

Good Mexican food with great service. Food is typical Mexican fare. Chips are brought to table when you sit. Menu has lots of choices but no need to choose anything but their burrito’s. All are big and good. Pay extra for their delicious guac. The server we had the last time we went was fantastic! Funny and friendly. It’s a BYOB and be forewarned, lots of children fill this place up with their parents so it can get loud. Only item I would improve is the churros. They were ok. Street parking and their are a couple of lots that are a short walk away. ENJOY!

ATTENTIONSINGLE/DIVORCED WOMEN: Wednesday nights at Tinga are for you! My lovely companion and I noticed a plethora of men, none of whom were wearing wedding rings dining at Tinga last night with their children. As any of us who have been on the divorce boat know, Wednesday night is daddy night and it would appear that all of Millburn’s Wednesday night daddys go to Tinga. Anyway, why wouldn’t they? I have been hearing about Tinga’s various location from several friends with varying degrees of enthusiasm; all quite positive. So last night we decided to give them a whirl. The place is veeeeery casual and very relaxed. Staff, while attentive, is not at all overbearing. We ordered beef fajitas which were delicious. Meat was on the dry side which may not be everyone’s preference but it is mine. Rice was scrumptious, tortillas were epic although, being on the frigging low carb thing meant just a taste of each. Chips and salsa were… well chips and salsa. Yummy, fresh and delicious. Choices in Mexican restaurants are generally geographically dictated. There really are fewer of them than just about every other type of eating establishment. I can’t really think of too many towns with more than one of them. Luckily, people in Millburn and the surrounding vicinity can choose to go to Tinga. Casual, inexpensive and delicious. The big 3 to me. Dos thumbs up.
