BESTCHINESEOUTSIDEOFNYC!!! We tried all of the local places in Millburn and the surrounding towns when we moved here 3 years ago. Nothing even came close to good nyc Chinese. We have wasted money and actually threw out meals from a few places that were just disgusting. A year ago we decided to try one last place and are so glad that we did. It was Ms Lins in Millburn — we have never again wasted any food or money. From real shrimp to white meat good quality chicken and fresh veggies — their food is reliably healthy and good quality. If I could give more then 5 stars I would. Dont hesitate to try them — it is great food.

If you’re coming in from the city for a show at Paper Mill, this place provides a great pre-theater lunch or dinner. Stellar chicken fried rice at low prices. OR grab takeout and eat in the lovely park across the way!

The only reason I gave 1 star is because I have to in order to post a review. This was truly a terrible experience. I have had a lot of not so good Chinese food, but this was by far the worst. I ordered for delivery and the guy called me from«outside» and asked me to come meet him. I stood outside in the rain for 5 minutes before he actually got out of his car. Then he didn’t have change and had to go back to his car. After we finally settled things, he started walking off with my food! Then there was the food. I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is not. I ordered the mapo tofu, vegetable wonton soup, sesame noodles, and beef and spicy garlic sauce. I took one bite of the tofu and it went in the garbage. It was completely unbearable and very very poor quality tofu. It is called«vegetable mapo tofu» and I didn’t see one vegetable. I then tried the cold sesame noodles. This is a staple in my household. They were unsettlingly sweet and I could only manage a few bites and put the rest back. The vegetable wonton soup is concerning, since the broth is yellow and I don’t trust that it’s not in a chicken broth. I’m not risking that. I did cut into one of the wontons and it was only a bit of lettuce and a tiny shred of carrot. There were also only 6 wonton on the whole quart. The beef looks okay, but I can’t say anything for the taste. I don’t expect much when I order Chinese food, but this was $ 35 wasted. Complete crap. I should’ve let the delivery guy walk off with it. He would’ve been doing me a favor.

I’ve ordered from this place a gazillion times but went into the place for the first time last night. Clean, family friendly and decent service. The food is very American-Chinese but that’s not such a bad thing. I sometimes get this mad craving for boneless pork ribs(with that totally processed duck sauce) and nothing else will quite satisfy like a nice big order. Just like a Big Mac attack, from time to time. You know what I mean? When we do delivery, they are the fastest I’ve ever seen, which is very convenient. But the last time we had delivery, it was a bad experience. When the guy showed up, I realized I didn’t have enough money to give a proper tip. I only had 2 bucks extra. I asked if he could take a credit card instead so I could leave a decent tip. He said no. So, I gave him the 2 bucks and said I’ll take care of him the next time, since we order there so much. Well, he got pissy and threw the tip back to me and walked away. Not being the most patient or PC kind of guy, I was pretty insulted and started to yell at him, calling him an idiot and a few other things. I immediately called the restaurant and told the owner what happened. He told me that he was going to fire the guy. Well, I didn’t want that, just a dressing down and a free egg roll next time would have done it. Not sure if the guy was actually fired but I haven’t seen him back since. Hmmmm…

If I wanted cardboard I would have walked around back to the dumpster I didn’t need to pay 13 $ for a lunch special. Got the sesame chicken delivered on Labor Day so clearly they were not absurdly busy to the point where they couldn’t make a decent meal. Portion was tiny only reason I give it any stars is because it was packed nicely but the chicken tasted like absolute garbage for lack of better word and the rice had no flavor whatsoever. Highly disappointed.

2.5 stars. BLAND. My family likes it because the food is really fresh, but I begrudgingly come to family dinners here because the food sooooo lacks flavor. Family favorites are the duck, salt and pepper shrimp, and house fried rice. Soups are the thing I find to be best out of the lot because I can add all types of sauces to make it better. We’ve been going here since Ling Ling days and I think it got even blander(!!!) once it became Ms. Lin’s.

We ate here for the first time last week and were pleasantly surprised by the food options(lots of healthy selections!), the prices, and how quickly the food came out. We will definitely be coming again.

I LOVED the food, it was amazing! If you are a fish lover i recommend the Ginger fish. It was amazing, the ginger really make the taste! I rated this a four because my daughter and i thought it was a bit boring. They should have some music playing to really make the place fun and friendly. BTW. You can see the kitchen, some people like it and some people do not. My daughter says«It would look better with the kitchen not showing» I thought it was fine though. Just to say, the food was great!

The food tastes good and the service is great. But two out of the five dishes we ordered were disappointing. The beef with broccoli and chicken with broccoli were both mostly broccoli. Like 70% broccoli.

Ms. Lin’s was actually a PLEASANT surprise we stumbled upon the other night when wanting to try something new for dinner. It’s not become a possible go-to for the area for us. We’d checked the review on Unilocal out, and decided to give it a WHIRL. We were not let down at all… My wife got the h and sour soup, which was fantastic. It was the right consistency and tasted awesome. A nice kick, followed by a nice sour yet sweet after taste. Delicious. I got the beef lo mein, which was great. Noodles were fresh, tasty, and mixed perfectly with the beef, scallions, and onions. Hot and a great quantity at the large size. My wife got the pork version in small, and that was also really good with the same results. We did delivery, and it came relatively quickly(under the 45 minutes they told us). They’re in Chatham and we live in Summit, so 30 minutes to make all the food and get it to us after dinner was pretty good. Ms. Lin’s is definitely a great place to hit your ethnic vibes and get a good dish!

DONOTEATHEREIFYOUAREGLUTENFREE!!! The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is impeccable, but if you are gluten free — STAYAWAY!!! I was really disappointed, after having enjoyed a DELICIOUS dinner, that I was violently ill from ingesting gluten. I called to complain, and they apologized and said they will be sending my parents a gift card — that’s nice, but I will never be coming back to eat here after this horrible experience.

We usually get take-out from Ms. Lin, but have eaten in as well. The food and service are great, and even the people who answer the phone for take-out are spot-on, efficient, and really know the menu and can answer any questions. My favorite is the crispy duck, but I also like the house special fish, although its sauce is sometimes a bit too sweet and syrupy.

A few years ago I would have given it 4 stars. The last two or 3 times I have been in there. The wait staff seems disorganized. The woman behind the register overwhelmed. I watched a family wait a really really long time to be served. The food was better a few years ago too. My last three meals 2 were good, one was bland, and I did not care for the quality of the chicken. Since it is really HITORMISS these days I’ll give it a 2 and hope for improvement. It is a shame because it is a nice storefront in a great location.

We’ve been ordering from here for years(back when it was Ling Lings), and I can say, at least lately(this fall) the food has been top notch. Not greasy or weird. A simple clean taste to the dishes. Always prompt.
