If I could give this zero stars I would. I know it’s Charlie browns and my expectations are very low. But this was one of the top five worst meal I’ve ever had my life. Both food and service. For brunch I ordered the stuffed French toast. The platter came out and it was pretty under cooked on top. I figured it was edible. So I cut a piece off and I put it in my mouth and it tasted like charcoal. I flip the French toast over, and it is entirely burnt black. Apparently the chef flipped it over thinking no one would notice… Unbelievable. Black no exaggeration. It was not incredibly busy but every time I tried to make eye contact with the server to come over she avoided us. Half hour later everyone else is done. She comes over and asks if I would like to wrap up my French toast and take it home. I showed it to her and she was like oh why didn’t you say something. I explained to her I would’ve if she had ever checked to see how our food was. Anyhow she superficially apologize and offered to take eight dollars off of the check. Manager never came over to apologize, nothing. I literally had nothing to eat while I was there. As I walked out the manager was at the door and never said a word. I would never go back here or to another Charlie Brown’s again.

I had an hour or so to kill at lunchtime. I stopped in on a quiet Saturday at the bar. Two other customers. The bartender was spending time in conversation, when she did come, after a long while, she asked if I wanted a menu. No eye contact. Bad english. Bad attitude. This place has really gone downhill. Might they wonder why customers won’t drop by at lunchtime in a busy, beautiful town? If the strategy is to shave a few cents an hour off the wage rate by not having experienced help, I can imagine what they do with the food they serve. Spend your hard-earned money some place where they care. This place is not a contender as a place that wants your return business. p. s. lots of tvs, all with soccer on them — Mets and Yankees playing, but not at this place.

Not child friendly. Our waitress raised her voice to my 7 year because my daughter could not hear the ice cream choices over the 9TV’s, the tables filled with babling 60 year olds and an assortment of other noises. I have not had a bad waitress in a very long time and I was shocked to how rude and unfriendly this waitress was. Totally turned me to CB altogether — not sure I’ll go back.

Came here for dinner the other night and it was surprisingly pretty packed! Our server was really nice and friendly. The menu had a great array of options. I got the steak tips over garlic mashed potatoes. Yum! The prices are pretty fair for a steakhouse. They do have plenty of other options, if you aren’t a steak eater. I had a free Unilocal offer from my check in, our waitress honored it. When it came time to pay our check, their servers were down and we had to wait about 20 – 30 minutes to finally leave. Our server had to hand write everything down and she accidentally forgot to give us the free appetitzer from Unilocal. We paid fast and as soon as we checked the receipt we realized it. The waitress was super sweet about it, we weren’t mad at her she made a mistake. It happens! The manager, or I guess her supervisor? was really rude when we asked about it. She seemed annoyed at the server and seemed annoyed that I had a free Unilocal offer. Since we paid with cash, she was speaking to the server as if she was supposed to take it out of her tips. We didn’t want to do that so we asked for the credit to be in a gift card and she let us do it. I would go back, the food was good and every other employee seemed happy and friendly.

My dad, sister, and I went to Charlie Brown on New Years Eve. You do not even have to have a reservation! We each ordered a dish with the salad bar. The salad bar has so many different varieties of food. So many that you could have a meal. For the main dish I had a garlic shrimp and the garlic tasted amazing with the shrimp. My sister had a shrimp stuffed with crab ball, she said she didn’t like it but I thought it tasted really good. My dad on the other hand actually had a steak, he said the steak was grilled to perfection. For the side dishes I had seasoned rice, my sister had sweet potato fries, and my dad had the garlic green beans. Everyone said it was delicious. We did not have the dessert in the restaurant. It was a bit pricy. The three of us were $ 75. They also had really comfy seats, considering the fact that we were in a booth. The food portions are just right. All of us were full in the end. The waiters and waitresses were really nice and delivered your food really quickly. Overall it was an amazing experience!

Have been to this location a bunch of times over the years, but my last visit was disappointing. Not only did the menu change a bit, but the prices went up for an inferior product. The Charlie Brown steak was always my go to; you’d get a decent sized steak cooked to order. Well, apparently they have gotten cheaper with the steak, it was not visually as good as it used to be, nor cooked to my specifications. Was disappointed, especially since the price went up. Service is still good, and beer still cold, but don’t think I’ll be going back there again. Don’t know what happened here, but they should revert back to their old cuts of steak.

Came here for lunch. They have lunch deals, but are a bit pricey. The french onion soup was very salty, a little too much cheese, but still yummy. The coconut shrimp was crisp, hot, paired with a gooey orange sauce and everything you’d expect from coconut shrimp The prime rib was disappointing. I usually love their prime rib at dinner –very tender, and usually perfectly medium rare. I think the lunch portions are leftover from the night before. Does not compare at all –much dryer and stringy, and def more well done than medium rare. But the reason why I come here is because of their salad bar. They have so many choices, from the regular basics, to liver/pâté. The honey lime sauce is the best Then they have a million toppings –bacon bits, tortilla pieces, crispy noodles, croutons. There was also a sign in front of the salad bar saying which ingredients are from local farmers. Their salad bar is the best thing on the menu!

Love Charlie Browns. Shame the one in matawan closed years ago. There salad bar is included in the meal. All farm fresh items. Any time in in the area, I always try to stop in. I usually go there any time I go to paper mill playhouse. The also do gluten free meals. It on there menu. Had full meal and drink for under 19.00. In and out in less than half hour.

I love the Charley Browns Salad Bar. I could make a meal out of this on it’s own, but this night I ordered the Prime Rib. Our waiter hardly spoke broken English. I don’t think he understood anything we asked him, because he just kept nodding his head, as if to say yes??? Everything we ordered from the menu, we had to point to the item on the menu, he justhad no clue, but he was trying to fake it. Anyway, my Prime Rib came out and it was Perfectly cooked and it was delicious! When we asked for the check, he asked us for our coupons and apparently all the tables around were using coupons, so we asked him how to get coupons, and all he did was say yes??? I think if we had a waiter that understood English, this would be a 5 star review, because the Salad Bar was a 5 and the Prime Rib was a 5, but our waiter was totally frustrating!

I was here a few thurs. ago for all you can eat ribs. After ordering drinks we were informed they ran out of ribs. While the manager have us other entrees at the same price, that is not the point. Getting up and leaving really wasn’t an option. Show me the ribs and I will return. Why would I go and roll the dice again. This was a restaurant bait and switch. We should have been informed either before being seated or before ordering drinks.

Do not come here! I have found 2 hairs in my food there and the waitress did not seem to care at all. It is also extremely slow service.

I have come here many times over the years and they have good steaks, barbecue ribs. The service is good. I would give the overall restaurant a 3 but the salad bar is definitely a 4 plus. Has all the basics plus some nice extras. Get free firecracker shrimp when you check in on Unilocal. We had the prime rib and barbecue ribs. the ribs were tender and cooked well the prime rib was ordered medium rare and was a little closer to medium. overall a good spot for Millburn. 3.5 rating.

2 Stars because they were slow. I ordered my food and it was awhile until the waiter came back because he thought I was going to the salad bar. If you short on time Don’t go to this place. P. S. The food was still good

First time eating at Charlie Browns. The steak was tender and good although we both thought it was more medium-rare than the medium we had both ordered. As for the sides, my boyfriend ordered the«Buffalo Mac and Cheese» and when it came out it turned out to be Kraft box Mac and cheese with bacon crumbled on top. My green bean side was clearly canned beans with some garlic. Not the best food or environment out of other chain restaurants I’ve been to and I doubt any other restaurant would ever serve Boxed Mac and Cheese as a side…

We were running late to see a show at Paper Mill last Thursday and I don’t know how she did it but the bartender(a really friendly young lady) made sure we were fed and out the door in time for the curtain. My burger and my friends quesadilla were delicious. Very happy with the experience.

Came here with minimal expectations the meals & servers were honestly good. UNTIL I FOUND a baby roach in my salad. The woman who wasn’t our waitress brought our entrees to the table and we told her about the roach we found and she seemed very concerned and said«I’m gonna leave those right here and get the manager for you.» Exactly less than a minute after that our waiter, Eric, comes over and says«was there a problem I saw you point to the salad when she brought your food.» So we told him and he took the salad plates away immediately, just nods, and didn’t say anything. He comes back to our table many times after that as if nothing happened. Poor customer service! The manager never came and our waiter never apologized. He just brought us our bill. P.s the salad was from the salad bar that EVERY single customer in there probably ate from.

My friends and I decided to choose Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse in Millburn tonight and this was our general consensus: PROS — Jukebox — Salad Bar(My friend who paid for it was satisfied) — Friendly service — The restaurant honored their deal of receiving the Firecracker shrimp appetizer for free by checking into the restaurant — Free Wi-Fi — Bar area CONS — It was admittedly chilly in the lounge area where we ate — My friends mentioned they wished the burger had more fries on the side — Food presentation lacked THEFOOD The mushroom and swiss burger I ordered was good but nothing special. I thought the portion size was satisfactory and I was full by the end of the meal. One of my friends ordered the cod and I admittedly wasn’t a big fan of the presentation. The sauce appeared to be lopsided to one side of the cod and was not very appealing to the eyes. However, my friend had no issues with the flavor so that’s a plus. If anything, it’s just a suggestion for future reference. Besides that, I thought the Firecracker shrimp definitely had a kick of flavor and was pretty good. FINALTHOUGHTS I thought Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse was a decent restaurant that I wouldn’t mind visiting again in the future. Would I rush back to visit again? Probably not. I believe if this restaurant pays a little more attention to detail on the food and improve quality control, there is potential in the future to reach a 4 star rating.

I have great memories of growing up and enjoying dinners with the family at the great restaurant that was Charlie Brown’s — such a fun place! I was excited to go there with my girlfriend the other day… but was extremely, extremely disappointed and unsatisfied. I have no complaints about the server — she was great and worked hard to remedy our issues. We had a shrimp appetizer that was pretty good… but it went down from there. My girlfriend wouldn’t finish her food because it was just tasteless and unappealing — and I had to send my steak back because it was so disgusting. Her drink was pretty good, but mine was just alright — nothing special and nothing I really wanted to keep drinking. I don’t know if Charlie Brown’s went down hill, or I never realized how bad it was…
