I am a mom of an almost 6 year old little girl. My little girl is quite athletic, but she always felt a bit awkward when it came to dancing at a wedding, a party or with friends. We signed her up for ballet classes at her gymnastics school 2 years ago and she really enjoyed her classes and teacher. However, when her ballet teacher moved to Auburn, we were forced to try and find another teacher our daughter clicked with. We sampled 5 Bay Area Dance Schools and not one dance school or teacher compared to West Coast Dance Academy and Miss Angela. We started two classes at West Coast Dance Academy in September. We started with a Combo(ballet/tap/jazz) class as well as a Hip Hop class. Angela has transformed our once«awkward» dancer into a confident little girl who loves to dance at home or any event with music. My husband took her to a father/daughter dance this past weekend and danced her heart away for two hours. If it wasn’t for Miss Angela and West Coast Dance Academy, we would have not found where we want our little girl to attend all her dance classes. Our little girl has strengthened her ballet skills and has really started to build on her tap technique. Jazz does not come naturally, but it has helped her improve her musicality. Lastly, her hip hop class has built her confidence and comfort to dance in front of others without a care in the world. She is learning moves that will make her comfortable to dance with her friends at school and not be a «wall flower». One thing that really stood out with Miss Angela from the start is that after each class, she has the kids learn a brief routine. In each class(ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop) my daughter has learned a new routine or built on an existing routine in each class which has helped her build on her skills. Since we have been at WCDA, we have referred 5 people and will gladly continue to refer more. Angela has a «god given» gift to be a dancer and a teacher. She is patient, but firm. She doesn’t allow the kids in her class to goof around and maximizes every minute of the class for her students to learn new skills. Miss Angela is serious, but never mean and we consider her a dear friend for how she has impacted our little girl’s life. If you would like specific details of why I would only send my daughter and son to West Coast Dance Academy, please feel free to call me at 650−302−7395. Thank you, Jen
