The Image Flow

I just finished a Night Photography class at The Image Flow. The teacher was Hendrik Paul, a very talented photographic artist. We met first for a 2 hour lecture, had 2 separate photo shoots and got to critique each others photos last night. The teacher and course was extraordinary and as a result I learned a new art form with my camera. I look forward to other classes! I also had private lessons in Lightroom with Nathan. Technology is NOT my thing and he successfully helped with organizing the disorganization I had created! My lessons with him have enabled me to create better images and understanding the powerful tools within Lightroom. This is a first rate company with professionals that are truly there to empower us to be better photographers. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!

Great photography instruction on a wide range of topics relating to photography. Individual sessions are very useful as well. Excellent quality printing with help in handling questions about sizing, paper quality, etc. A wonderful resource for our community.

I took a Photo Essentials class with The Image Flow. It was an excellent class that offered a perfect balance between the artistic and the technical sides of photography. Stuart and Matt are great teachers and are committed to helping people become better photographers. The class is very well organized and a lot of fun. I highly recommend it!
A pleasant surprise in taking the class was discovering all the Image Flow has to offer. It has a gallery, a photography lecture series, a shooting studio, a lab, and a high quality printing service. They have created a really nice community around all things photography!

As a burgeoning photographer, The Image Flow has been central to my success in the past two years. I have taken many of the superb, professional classes, shown my work in the gallery and have had all my photographs printed here exclusively. I would not have achieved all that I have in such a short period of time without the excellent instruction by Matt on Lightroom and Photoshop skills, as well as the supportive teaching and mentoring by Stuart from growing my portfolio and critiquing works in progress, to learning new camera and lighting skills. The friendly atmosphere, the exquisite print quality, the many opportunities to expand my knowledge of photography through classes and lectures keeps me coming back.
The Image Flow is one of Mill Valley’s greatest community assets, and a growing community collective and meeting spot for local photographers, artists, teachers and students. I highly recommend checking out all that The Image Flow has to offer and visiting their galley during Marin Open Studios.

We rented image flow’s space for a wedding rehearsal dinner for thirty people. With their photo gallery, the setting was beautiful. Our guests could mingle with each other looking at the art. The large photo area was used for the rehearsal and photos. Stewart, Jackie and Matt were very helpful. Jackie is a wonderful chef and can really make great items, from tapas to full on dinners. Thanks for helping create a wonderful evening. Also, easy to get to with lots of free parking! Great value.

I simply wandered in with a National Archives photo I wanted enlarged, not even sure if they dealt with individuals. To my pleasant surprise they took lots of time with my photo and delivered a stunning reproduction in a week. A great asset for our town.

I got to know the guys at ImageFlow when they became a pick up/​drop off location for borrowlenses, a lens rental company. Stuart Schwartz and Matt are both extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to photography. I’ve been an amateur photographer for 40 years. In a couple of hours Stuart gave me a completely different outlook on my work. His one-​on-​one sessions are fantastic and I can’t wait to take his photo course.
Also, they encourage folks to get their photos off of their computer and onto the wall. What a concept???

Just took their Photoshop Essentials class and was impressed after the very first meeting.
It’s a seven week class and a bit on the pricey side. I’d been looking for a class to learn more about my camera and photography in general. Their class description was the closest I had come to finding what I was looking for.
After the first class, I felt like I had already gotten my money’s worth! Stuart and Matt are very knowledgeable, patient, informative and helpful.
There is instruction on using your camera, lighting, weekly assignments, using editing software in addition to viewing and discussing the class’ weekly pictures.
The class size is not too big and not too small. It’s just the right size for individual help while also having a wide enough variety of style, opinons and photography experience.
I was VERY happy I chose to attend and highly recommend them for classes and all their other services! You won’t be disappointed!

I worked with Stuart Schwartz and Jeff Young recently on a project for the not-​for-​profit organization where I work, and they are the best. Jeff managed to take excellent photos despite the notoriously poor lighting in our Auditorium. Even though he was doing the photography pro bono, the time he committed to the project and the quality of his photos would be worthy of a top-​dollar photographer. He was very friendly and accommodating – even though the subjects could be challenging to corral and capture in the optimally flattering way. I would highly recommend the Image Flow!
A very reputable source has also told me that their Photoshop services are excellent.
