Strawberry Chevron Car Wash

This is the best car wash I know of. I drive over the bridge from SF for it. It’s like a detail for the cost of a pricey wash. This place is literally the bomb.

One star off because of the hard sell of extra service. Other than that, very good place to get your car washed and cleaned.

I have been coming here for a couple of years and it has been okay but today was really bad. The console on the rear seat was not touched and was dirty. Some sort of sticky substance on a door was left alone and the paint was scraped on my rear bumper.
Just saying that at the very least one needs to do an inspection of your car before driving off.

I’ve come here before and every time I do I feel ripped off. They over charge and under deliver. For $ 30 I think I should at least get a fragrance. Due to time restrains I didn’t go to my usual spot. Thirty dollars gets me a hand wash, fragrance and my back mat washed and cleaned off at the Shell station in Sausalito. Never again will I come here.

Avoid if you can, on top of that the gas prices are heavily loaded to give the impression you are getting a big discount for buying a ripoff car wash. One time learning for me.

This place is hilarious.
I was going to have my car washed at another place in SF but apparently they took the day off to save water. Isn’t everyone just going to get their car washed the next day or somewhere else? Anyway, I found this one on Google Maps and decided to give it a try.
The first thing you’ll notice is an army of migrant workers ferociously vacuuming and polishing all the cars. Henry Ford would be proud of this assembly line. I’d say there were no less than two dozen cars being cycled through at a rate of a car per five minutes. Off to the side there is a little pagoda with all the patrons lounging in chairs like generals in the back of the battlefield. Literally everyone I saw sitting under the cabana had bleached blonde hair. Most of them had a coach bag or a small dog by their side. All of the cars going through the wash looked super clean and none of them really needed a wash.
I mean look at the review posted just before mine: «I’ve been coming to this Chevron for almost 2 years, 5 nights a week on my way home from work spending about 20.00 per night.» What is this woman doing with her car that she needs to have it washed five days a week? She needs to call the Wolf.
Then some guy in a slick suit showed up with his new Ferrari. Apparently he had no reservations about taking his fine Italian automobile through the automatic car wash. Rad.
At the end of the wash a detailer drives the car about 30 feet over to the patrician patrons and while exiting the vehicle pretends to do some final touches with a rag. It’s a lot like getting pepper or parmesan cheese at a fancy restaurant, you’re not going to get anything out of it but the gesture means something. Then, with everyone watching, the customer walks up to the car and there is that awkward tipping moment. See, there’s a tip car out by the cabana but nobody wants to look cheap so they make sure to hand it directly to the washer and in plain view of all the other patrons.
For $ 25 it’s quite a show and my car came out looking much cleaner.

So I’ve been coming to this Chevron for almost 2 years, 5 nights a week on my way home from work spending about 20.00 per night and they have this deal where if you buy 3 like items you get the 4^th one free. I’m a pretzel junkie but I like to mix them up. This has never been a problem until today where Muhammad informs me via his no personality, rude female clerk that they have to be the exact same item. Contrary to the signs they have posted saying «3 like items» they are all pretzels and they are all the same price. Needless to say I won’t be coming back here.

I just bought a brand new car 2 weeks ago so I notice every scratch. After getting upsold by this place I got not only my first but also my second scratch on the car. They even managed to scratch the window. DO NOT go here.

Perfectly fine place to get your car washed for under $ 30. However, I must agree with other reviews, these guys need to tone down the upsell. I feel like they’re trying to sell me a damn time-​share or something.
Let me paint a quick picture for you. I arrive at the station and roll down my window. The guy asks me what I want. I tell him that I’ll just have the Basic Wash (which covers exterior and interior cleaning). But before I can open my car door, he bombards me with all the other more expensive services for like $ 20 — $ 30 extra. I politely decline. But then he continues to point out the blemishes and scratches on my vehicle, and tell me how my car would look better if I enlisted more of their cleaning/​waxing services. Ok, now it’s just starting to get ridiculous. This guy is now just peer-​pressuring me in to spending more money by making me feel that I’m a bad car owner. Look, buddy — No means No. I drive a pretty basic Toyota Yaris. I don’t drive a Mercedes or fancy sports car. Just accept my order and give me my damn receipt.
Once this annoying procedure is done, I finally get out of my car and pay my bill inside the gas station. For what it’s worth, they have a sunny outdoor waiting area with lawn chairs and umbrellas. It’s a nice place to sit while you wait for your vehicle to be finished.
At the end of the whole 20-​minute process, I do drive off the lot with an immaculate car (so no complaints on that front). However, I do sincerely hope the business owners read these reviews and train their staff to ease up on their aggressive sales approach. It’s very uninviting.

Very poor.
Deluxe wash left stain on bonnet and roof, unclean inside and trunk unvaccummed.
They did it again and car still dirty. 40min, $ 35 bucks not happy.
Told me the stains are left my redwoods and their cleaning isnt good enough to take care of that.

I ended up getting more in damage than the wash was worth. I decided to do the works plus. After I got my car back, was a hole in my carpet, and a scratch in my tint. For the most expensive regular wash, I am really not sure if this a good deal. The carpet dried and it looks splotchy.
They will pressure you to upgrade your wash, but it may end up costing you more in damage.
I ended up having to buy new floor mats, and have to get my tint replaced on one window.

Ok maybe I spoke too soon in my last review. The times I have been back since, the upselling has really gotten bad and to the point that I am uncomfortable bringing my car there anymore. When I say no, I mean no. I don’t want have to say no a half a dozen times when I don’t want anything but a basic wash. It is quite frustrating. Also, the last time I brought my car there, they knocked the electronic mirror off it’s holder. Luckily I could fix it. Also, I noticed there was a scratch on the passenger side door of my brand new car that I brought there. Of course no way to prove it was them who did it but unless the dirt was covering it up, it wasn’t there when I brought it in. So my 5 star review is dropping one star for the upselling, and one star for damaging my car (the mirror) since I don’t know if the scratch was them or not.
They do a good cleaning job but I am not coming back here again. The upselling is just overboard. Too bad because I thought I found my new car wash.

This gas station takes your money because he can. It’s one owner and I live next to it and over the years found I don’t get what I pay for unlike shell and others… please check your tanks…

So what does a full-​service Brushless Car Wash look like in Marin County? This place. $ 23 for the most basic of washes, $ 30 if you want your interior vacuumed. Wow. What I would give for a coin-​op car wash where I could do it myself for a third of the price.
The Great:
+ Friendly staff outside.
The Average:
o The staff inside. The manager guy can be a bit rude.
o The car is clean and they do a good job on the interior, but still… $ 30. Ouch.
The Poor:
— In and out in 10 minutes? Good luck. I’d say it’s closer to 15 – 20 all said and done.
— Just too damn expensive. But what other options are there? Not many.
I keep coming back, but my car gets quite dirty in between washes because I just can’t help but feel like I’m being taken advantage of.

Just stopped off for a car wash refused to pay $ 35, plus a tip, for something that I can get done at the other mill valley car wash for $ 20 plus tip!!! A big tip too! This place is a rip off and they just lost $ 25.00 because of their greediness.

I’m sitting here at the Strawberry Chevron car wash waiting area. It’s convenient, on my way to work. The big issue is they spend 15 minutes trying to upsell me. I drove up thinking I’d spend maybe 25 bucks on a car wash, and before you know it, they’re trying to talk me into a $ 329 detailing.
It really reached the point of harassment, I’m definitely never returning here again. I should’ve looked at the other reviews already posted.

Overpriced for a basic car wash.
I stopped by on my way to work to get my car washed and for 22.99, I got a soap and water. Not only that but after i got the car washed, one of the guys comes over and presents me with a letter from the owner that they will not be washing jeep grand cherokee anymore because of some accidents that occurred. First I drive a jeep wrangler-​different car and second, I would have appreciated knowing that before they took my money. Never going back there. for 25 bucks i could have gone to the car wash shop by my parents where a car wash, vacum and armor all cost 25 bucks. Shame on me.

The best 15-​minute car wash you can get for $ 25. Plus, get a free «The Works» ($ 29 value) wash after your first wash! I usually wash and detail the car myself (’cause I’m picky and don’t always trust people to get the level of detail that I want), but when you’re on a time-​crunch or just a need a clean, vacuumed, mostly detailed car, Strawberry is the way to go.
*Note, that’s 15-​minute carwash. It won’t be perfect, but it will damn well look good.

They’ve got just about everything here that you could ever want done to your car. There’s a whole menu of selections from your basic wash, to a $ 50 some dollar detail, to several hundred dollar services that include clay, wax, and even steam cleaning.
and all this professional grade stuff that you could want done. I like that there are options, but they really try to push the packages they’ve got to get you to go to a higher service. From what I know from people who do professional car detailing, prices are actually fairly reasonable for these services. They did a good job with the basics too and I think you may get a bit of a discount on fuel if you do a wash too.
