After the amazing time my son Sean had at Camp Doodle I feel I needed to share his wonderful experience with the world. My wife and I have sent our son there for three years in a row and each year has seemed better than the previous. What initially stood out to us were the staff’s creative and warm way with Sean. The smile on Sean’s face when we picked him up from camp made our day. At dinner, all he could talk about where the friends that he had made and the amazing things that he had done that day. The past year especially stood out to Sean as his favorite with some fun new activities as I guess the program had changed from the previous year but whatever they did at Camp Doodle is working. Please keep up the good work and thank you for all the wonderful memories.

Fun safe camp Safe check-in and out systems Good staffing ratios Elder staff present in adequate numbers to help younger staff Children given help with snacks, lunch, toileting and clothing needs Administration responsive and collaborative with parents and knows where each child is at any time. A bit high on the sugar content but its what the children do at home the rest of the year that matters.

I was a little apprehensive about dropping our shy 5-year-old off at this camp but she ended up having a great time. The atmosphere is fun, laid-back, and yet organized and structured. The staffers use tons of creativity in everything they do and that sets the tone for an environment where kids have the opportunity to do a ton of stuff, or simply play and have free time, just the way the summer should be. Highly recommend and will have our kids come back next year. Also love the convenience and the way you can drop in, or sign up for a week at a time. Nice job Doodles!

When it comes to summer day camps, I look no further than David and his outstanding staff @ Camp Doodles. Big thanks for always welcoming us… even if only for our«drop — in» days.

My seven year old son loved Camp Doodles. He loved the counselors, the weekly themes and the field trips. They are organized and help make things flow smoothly. My five year old son went to camp doodles for his first-ever camp experience. He liked it too. The only reason i gave it a four and not a five is because it does not have a swimming facility and it is on a school campus. They do have a water slide each week that my kids loved. They said they’d be happy to arrange the logistics of my kids taking swimming lessons across the street at Strawberry Recreation Center, but I did not go that route. Overall, I think the camp is great.

Each spring a small ‘telephone book’ of summer camps arrive. As an adult, I salivate at the possibilities of riding horses, making films, perfecting a pitch or being a rock star. Our 7-year-old son has been attending camp doodles since kindergarten. This is his choice. It is surprising to us, his parents, that this little athlete would rather continue with a summer program not sport based. It was our first summer that I recognized what makes Camp Doodles special. The people. Yes, there are theme weeks, arts and crafts, field trips, movie nights, singing, dancing, baking, face painting, choice time, bike and scooter days, ice cream sno cones doodle juice and all of the additional summer time activities. Day one at summer camp can at times resemble first day of kindergarten. There are tears on cheeks, faces hiding with fear and parents filled with trepidation. At the end of first day, it is the parent crying. «I can not get my child to leave!!» Each and every child organically will attach to a counselor. The hugs and giggles, the encouragement and praise shared with this person are the reasons the camper will return. And, it is the reason the counselor will also return, year after year. The end of each day is shared with a photo slide show. The montage of images speaks for itself. The joy captured throughout the day in photographs is remarkable. Viewing this end of day ritual is a snapshot of your Childs experience. On the screen, you see your child and every camper, exuberant, engaged and curious. Part of a group, attempting new games and most important, happy. Each day, all summer long, the images of campers faces stands testament to the magic of camp doodles. Yes, some camps have horses, some have trampolines, but only camp doodles has doodles love.(AKA: David and Veronica)

I have never attended a day at Camp Doodles but I promise when it comes time, I will take my son there for sure(he’s 3 now). I know the founders of the camp personally(for about 20 years) and I couldn’t think of anyone else I’d rather leave my son with — besides their mother! But seriously, the graphics and logos have been spot on since day 1.

My 10 year-old son has been going to Camp Doodles for four summers now. He is still excited to attend. Each morning he lets me know it’s, «time to go, Mom. I don’t want to be late.» The staff is amazing and I feel like there is a real connection between them and my son. The counselors are warm and friendly and always go out of their way to say«hi» when they see us. Camp Doodles is a fun, relaxed place where kids can do everything or just«be». It caters to kids of all ages with different activities available to make sure everyone is happy. Weekly field trips only add to the excitement! David and Veronica, the«head honchos» of Camp Doodles are two of the kindest, most down-to-earth people I have had the pleasure to meet. I know my son is cared for and couldn’t be in better hands(other than my own, of course!)

I feel so lucky to have experienced the greatness that Camp Doodles offers so many children every summer. I have worked at several camps in my years as a camp staff member, but I never found an environment that felt more like a family vacation. The staff training was incredibly grueling but proved to be so worth it as David and Veronica had promised. By the time camp had started I was CPR and First Aid certified, knew a book of 50 camp songs & games by heart and had learned so much about creating a positive environment for each of our different campers. I often have stopped by during my vacations the last few summers to partake in dunk tanks, snow cones and the wonderful camaraderie that still is the Camp Doodles way. 8 years ago I was there when the camp started and half of my closest friends are still people I met working there. This weekend I will be going to a one time Doodles campers Bar Mitzvah! Camp Doodles has succeeded at creating not only a really fun summer day camp, but a place where children and staff can meet new friends and truly be themselves.

We(ok — my daughter) has experienced a wide variety of camps in Marin(Slide Ranch, Audobon, Coastal Camp, EdventureMore, Steve & Kate’s, etc) but she likes none of them as much as Camp Doodles. I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first. A camp where they… play? Where is the environmental education? What is the curriculum? Will they milk goats? Turns out, what makes kids most happy are the same activities we loved as kids: tie-dying, bicycle obstacle courses, ice cream field trips, slides shows and entertaining camp songs. It doesnt hurt that the counselors are fabulous! This year is our second year at Doodles and I have now noticed some of the subtle reasons why Doodles is great: an honor system for lunch payments, speedy responses to emails and phone msgs and 50% off camp fees for teachers’ kids. I’m not a teacher, but I can certainly appreciate all that teachers do — and I really appreciate that camps like Doodles rewards teachers with tuition breaks. Keep up the great work, Doodles! We’ll be seeing you next summer, too!

I agree with Adryenn 100% DOODLESFORADULTS! I used to teach swim lessons and a lot of the kids would go to Camp Doodles and it was all they would talk about! Absolutely loved it! They are a safe, and very fun camp which has been in business for a long time, and I am sure, a long time to come. Once I have some kids, they will be Doodlers!

Doodles rules! This is my older daughters third summer there and she LOVES it! She talks about it all year long and counts the days until Camp Doodles begins! She has made some great friendships there. The activities they have a great and all the counselors are REALLY into it. My younger daughter is there for the first time this summer. Tho she loves whatever her older sister loves… she too has gotten really into it on her own! Oh yeah, and David and Veronica who run the whole thing are awesome! Check it out… you’ll find yourself humming the kooky Doodles songs your kids bring home before you know it! — R.

I wish Camp Doodles was for adults! I want to have this much fun everyday! My son comes home happy and exhausted(just the way I like him!). He could only handle 3 hours of preschool, but after 7 hours of camp doodles, he doesn’t want to come home! Every week is another theme, and every day is a mix of structured play and free choice time. Because they take over the entire Strawberry Point School, they have room to stretch out and have quiet play, art, nature hikes, relay races, hoola hoops(I picked one up and was super excited that I could still do it), and pretty much anything your camper can imagine. By the end of the first week, my son was a master at camp songs and leading the counselors in a round of «Boom Chicka Boom»(he’s only 5). What do I think is the best part of Camp Doodles? The staff is nearly 50⁄50 men and women. Campers benefit from having super cool, big hearted older boys around, as well as the usual lovable girls. I have found the other campers to be a wonderful mix of ethnicities, economic backgrounds, and energy levels yet, they all gel perfectly and create a camp where every kid is a star!
