On a Saturday morning I took my wife and youngest daughter out to breakfast, on our way to a morning of hiking. Mountain Edge is a rustic-looking café on the south side of the main highway. The inside is small but comfortable, with maybe 8 tables and a nice collection of historic photos and country artifacts lining the walls. My wife and I ordered a Santa Fe Chicken omelette(with hash browns and a biscuit) and a half order of biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were fluffy and the sausage gravy had a good amount of sausage. The omelette was flavorful with sour cream, peppers and well-seasoned chicken that was spicy but not overwhelmingly so. The portion size of the omelette meal, as usual in modern American restaurants, was at least adequate for 1& ½ adults, so with the half-order biscuit and gravy(a good deal @ $ 3.95), this was just right for two. The service was fast and our waitress was friendly and did a good job of being attentive despite a fairly steady breakfast crowd. We would happily return.

Yeah… not so much, at least for breakfast. $ 40 for mediocre. If we had it to do over again we would have travelled further for better.
