You don’t have to necessarily be a Mililani resident to walk into this facility to grab a Starbucks-based drink or attend an event hosted here(although there is a sign-in at the front area and it’s technically a «perk» of living in the area and paying dues). I definitely make it a point to stop here while jogging from my house up the main Meheula Parkway. When I round the corner at Mililani Ike Elementary, I know my trek is at a half-way point and can take a quick break before turning back. There’s a parking lot out front and a pool with several permanent pavilions/seating areas to host BBQ gatherings. For facility rentals, see details and forms on the site here: . Note, the coffee shop is not a Starbucks retail location, but the drinks are said to be slightly discounted. See more here on the Mililani Town Association(MTA) site: . Quite possibly my fav Rec Center in Mililani. :)

My family and I love this place. It has a heated pool that really feels great to be in during those cold days. They even put a hot tub that has changing colors. Sometimes the hot tub can get full and over crowded. I wish that they did not close half of the pool for laps in the evening. There are many more families that like to recreational swim over those that want to swim laps. They have a full indoor basketball/volleyball court. It’s usually kinda busy in the evenings not too sure about the day times. There’s a mini Starbucks here and who doesn’t like to drink Starbucks. It’s about the same price as the normal Starbucks. An Internet café with entertainment TV is on the inside by the office. You can play a game of ping pong on the table too. A play area for little and not so little kids is on the side of the Rec center. It’s great for keeping the kids entertained. If you like to bbq there’s pavilions that you can rent for 50 for four hours. There are even days that it’s free for first come first serve. This rec area is also home to eat the street on occasions. Come early because it gets packed. No parking really but you can park on the street in the residential area.

I honestly have mixed feelings about this rec center. It’s the newest with an Internet café that sells Starbucks beverages. There’s an indoor basketball court, gazebos with grills to rent, a really nice playground that my daughter loves and along with the regular pool they have a kiddie pool. MTA also has a business office here which is open 7 days a week! With all of that being said, here’s my reason for only 3 stars: We go to this specific Rec center because the pool is said to be heated. We have come here numerous times and it was heated only ONCE. My husband and I take our 2 year old to Leahi swim school so we come here to practice. Those who are taking or previously took their child there for lessons know that their pool is heated. It’s so much easier for a young toddler like that to get into the pool. We even went on a cloudy day a couple of times and there were people asking the life guards why the pool wasn’t heated. The life guards response was«…because it’s hot…» Really? Because 5 minutes later that same lifeguard put his jacket on. My daughter and I froze and we ended up leaving 15 minutes later. Such a waste of time. I don’t know who is in charge of heating the pool up, but it should be done everyday regardless because there are people that actually come here to swim in warm water! Another thing, when my husband and I first went to this business office to get our ID cards, the employee told us to hold on a bit because she was checking her email using the computers outside of the office area. Then has the nerve to tell us when she finally gets a chance to jump on a computer someone shows up. I’m not sure if she realized what she said to us was wrong, so she started being really nice. Overall, I do love this place, lots of parking too! But, if you’re going to say that the pool is heated, it should be heated. We shouldn’t have to guess, make the trip there only to have to leave a short while after. Every parent knows it takes a lot of time just to leave the house if you have a baby or toddler. It takes me longer to get everything ready then the amount of time we spend at that pool. I could have taken her elsewhere. One more thing, the pool restroom: 1 bathroom stall, 1 shower and NO changing room.

Mililani recreational center 7 is definitely a hangout spot to consider. They have a gym, Internet café and a mini starbucks here along with the obvious pool. I’ll break this down into categories for organization. Internet/Entertainment room. This room is great, a place you might find me on a hot weekend just relaxing. They have leather couches that recline and numerous computer stations(Linux software). There is also a ping-pong table in here that is very popular. A very large flat panel TV occupies the main wall and there are even boardgames for the kids. Starbucks outlet This doesn’t have a full Starbucks menu obviously but it has enough for a relaxing afternoon at the pool, the service here is great too, they have some snacks and if they don’t have what you like they can break large bills for you so you can use the vending machines across from them. Pool The pool.. .I mean.. .it’s a pool, a hole in the ground with water in it but it’s a good hole in the ground with water in it. The pool is more of a lap pool design that is shallow at both ends but deeper in the middle and is very easily handicap accessable via a ramp along one side. Party area The outdoor party area looks great and includes a playground surrounded by a vast grassy field, I’m told the equipment can get very hot in peak sunlight hours though so make sure you do the hand test before letting your kids play on it. Showers and Bathrooms Aside from the newly modified facilities at Rec.2 I’d rate these the best kept of the Rec. centers. Gym A standard wooden floored basketball court, not much to say about that.

I fell in love with the rec center… even though I’m not a Mililani resident. I came here for the first time as a craft vendor for one of their fairs. The grounds are super nice and amazingly clean. I felt that it was a great«homey» environment for kids and a great place to spend the day with your family. I really like that MTA has a lot of community events that brings people together. I don’t reside in a neighborhood that does this, so I was really surprised by the facilities as well as the festivities. I’ll be back for the mothers day fair as well so I’m looking forward to checking out rec center 5 this time!

Love this location. Sometimes very busy and lap lanes are full(only 2) so a little wait. Son loves the little pool. There’s a basketball court and a nice jungle gym. Fun for the whole family.
