Best croissants. Best artisan quality bread around. Ambiance is what you’d expect at a small beautiful rustic bakery. No pretense. We are so fortunate to have such a high end bakery in town that services the Mont Vernon, Amherst & Milford clientele. It’s busy because it is all about q u a l i t y and excellence. Even the coffee is fabulous. Staff is friendly and excited about their products. And, did I mention the eclairs? Sublime.

Real bread, made fresh each day. If you are used to paying $ 2.50 on a loaf of crappy processed American loaves, you need to try the real stuff! New recipes all the time to go along with old favorites. Coffee, limited pastries. Needs clearer pricing, though. The cinnamon swirl bread is amazing!

Small place with varying types of bread. No prices on anything. Aromas as soon as you walk in. Loaf of bread was $ 6(twice the price it should be). The outside was hard and crusty. Inside moist and light. Very good. The selection was small.

This place has amazing stuff — breads, baked goods, sweet treats… I agree with another reviewer who said that once you go here you keep coming back. I make excuses to go to Milford so I can stop by to get some mini cupcakes and a loaf or two of bread. They’re very pricy, but now that I’ve been here I ignore the other bakeries in the area. And they have organic stuff — you can’t find that anywhere else!

First off I have to say, the bread and rolls were delicious. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is that NOTHING in the store is priced. Even things that had a ½ price sticker on them weren’t priced. I had no idea how much anything was, and until I brought my purchase to the counter, no one offered to help me with anything. There’s a sign on the counter stating a $ 5 minimum on credit card purchases(which m/c and visa don’t allow). So since I wasn’t sure how much I was spending(I needed dinner rolls), I added a loaf of bread to the mix… again, it was all delicious… but $ 15 for 12 rolls and a loaf of bread?!? I guess I should stick to making my own.

OMG I am giving it 5 starts because I could not find 8! DELICIOUS bread, cupcakes, sweets, — and you MUST try the Summit Boost!!! AMAZING stuff, don’t miss the pecan sticky rolls! Unfortunately I live 2 miles away, which means way more hours in the gym for me! LOL

For special occassions I’ll make the trip out to Milford for their artisanal breads. Their breads have substance, reminds me of the European style baked goods. My favorite is the rustic olive loaf – crusty on the outside and chewy goodness on the inside.

Go here NOW! This bakery makes the best artisan bread around, and their scones and cupcakes are unbelievable. Everything is a bit pricey, but it’s worth it!

Amazing! Fresh,(and I mean fresh) breads, rolls, croissants and other sweet and tasty treats are made and baked right before your eyes. I call them articulate Artisans. Pleasant conversation accompanies all the wonderful breads from around the world! If you appreciate Old World goodness you must stop in for your own experience!

Too many Americans don’t know what«real bread» is. That Wonder Bread pre-sliced and sugary stuff? Phooey. You haven’t had a real meal until you’ve enjoyed hand-made awesomeness, and The Good Loaf is a fantastic place to begin your dive into higher-quality victuals. I was introduced to Lynda by my grandmother, who’s been a loyal customer even before Lynda opened the shop, and was baking her breads in her own home and selling them to stores. Now with her own business place, her customer base is booming. I was in there when she first opened the current store, when she was just trying out her monster oven and learning all the neat things it could do. Now it’s like an assembly line in there, with the amount of goodies she and her staff put out on any given day. You can always expect something new here. Lynda likes to change it up when she makes her breads — each loaf and batch is just a little different; maybe a different cheese used, or a slightly different spice… it’s all about experimentation, which is what gives her bakery such personality. One of my top favorite breads of hers is the cheese loaf. It’s the perfect thing to pair with prosciutto and maybe some cucumber for a lovely lunch. You never know what cheese she’ll use in the next batch too, which kinda makes it interesting. :) Oh, and if you’ve never had anise seeds before(they’ve got a flavor kinda like licorice), definitely give one of her anise loaves a shot. If I had any suggestions for the place, it’d be to put up signs on her baskets with the names and ingredients of her baked goods(she also makes pastries). But I guess when you change up your ingredients so often, a static list doesn’t make much sense. Still, she’s happy to tell you what’s in stuff if you just ask. The quality is well worth the price.
