Stop & Shop

Exactly like every other stop and shop on the face of the earth nothing special nothing expected

There are two Stop & Shops in the Milford area. This one is the one on Bridgeport Ave which is not newly renovated like the one near the Connecticut Post mall. This location is a bit outdated and could use some tender loving care. I live right between both Stop & Shop locations and I would much rather shop at the one by the mall.
When I was shopping here I noticed they were running low on a couple of things I was looking for. I’m not sure when all the product arrives to the store but I went on a Sunday morning and I thought the store would be a little more stocked up.
They do have the fuel pumps as others have mentioned and it is conveniently located. This location just didn’t «wooo» me.

Ho hum. An average Stop and Shop here.
Kind of old décor with a produce selection that I just average. They did not have jalapeños! What gives???
pluses are the gas station and location across from the CT Post mall. Otherwise, it pales on comparison to my favorite Stop and Shop on Bridgeport Ave in Milford (more modern and they always have jalapeños).
But the exit 40 location is better than the Stratford Stop and Shop near exit 33 which is tiny and has the worst produce selection in the region.

I go to this store to do my weekly shopping. I think it offers a great variety of food and the store is clean. A very big fan of having discount on gas!

This store has a terrible produce section, generally containing items they shouldn’t sell — if the produce is that crummy, please just put a sign out saying you don’t have it or mark it way down. The prices are higher than other area stores, for example, I wanted cardamon, it was $ 15 here and $ 10 at the local Shop Rite (needless to say I bought it for $ 3.50 at an Indian grocery instead). The self-​checkout lines always have incredibly dirty scanners, they have someone working the area so I don’t know why they couldn’t wipe it off in between customers because the scanners don’t work properly when dirty. I had an issue where the scanner kept telling me to remove items, hen the light to get help was going off and the girl informed me that it was because there were too many items at the bottom of the belt so I needed to bag some — there were only 5 cans of cat food down there — ummmm I’m thinking the belt was working properly and she should inform her supervisor instead of speaking to me like I am stupid. The last time I was in there I again had issues with their dirty dysfunctional check out and stood there waiting while two people in purple shirts (supervisors) blabbed away to each other, ignoring me completely though they were right near me and distracting the employee that was supposed to be helping with self-​checkout. There were people waiting at all self-​checkouts, they had ONE regular line open with a number of people waiting and yet these people were just standing around. I am thoroughly unimpressed with the staff here (except for the lovely guy who works the customer service desk, he is good). I won’t be back in here, I’d rather drive further to a different store.

It’s hard to find good snow crab legs that aren’t halfway dead in the window. I never had a problem getting good quality here! The store is very clean and the staff are very friendly. Never had a problem with price points here either. They are pretty good with tagging items on sale and having plenty on the shelf to out last the sale. Kudos

An expansive Stop & Shop, complete with all different types of things one needs and can’t find at the smaller supermarkets. From food to toiletries to fireworks, they’re here.
Also, they have a beer aisle, something hard to find in New England supermarkets (and impossible in MA unless you find one of the 3 branches of a chain in MA that has them). So bully to them for that.
