Oh man. The cappuccino gelato. Probably the best I’ve had in a while. I’m never disappointed at this place. It’s walk-up, so don’t go in the rain. Ice cream is for sunny nights anyway. The sizing is typical nonsensical creamery — one scoop, then kids, then small, medium, etc. One scoop is perfect for after dinner. The only thing better in the area is probably Wentworth’s in Hamden. This is right on par with Ashley’s in NH.

The flavor of the ice cream is pretty good but it always seems to have some freezer burn or ice on it(not sure exactly what it is). Good location next to a marina with a nice view to enjoy. Also it’s cash only but there are ATMs close by.

Another Milford ice cream stop that serves Bucks… the catch at Scoopy Doo’s is their location. The landscaping is nice and it is right by the water. Wonderful place for a date or just to let your kids run off the sugar. They also have dog treats!

This place is very cute, both the building and the shady seating area. I was shocked at the portion size though. The«kid small» i got for my daughter is what I would consider a medium and my «small» was more like a large. I guess some people call that a plus but if I order a small I really only want a small, and I don’t want to give my kid two huge scoops of ice cream either. The service was also very slow. As I ordered each cup the girl would disappear into the back for what seemed like forever before finally returning with it. I prefer a shop where the ice cream is in front of me and I can see them scoop it(and don’t have to wait forever). The actual ice cream was mostly good — we thought 2 out of 3 of the flavors we ordered were excellent(the strawberry was mediocre). Also a bit dismayed that there was no bathroom — we had to go poking around in the marina building when my preschooler had to go, since there’s nothing else around(there was a bathroom in there but we felt weird using it). Long story short, we could come back, but only if we already happened to be in downtown Milford.

In celebration of National Ice Cream Day my girl and I decided to head to Scoopy Doos. They offer many options but all the hand written menus are a bit over whelming. But on the other hand our ice cream was good and the location is great. By the way we had the Doo Drop, it is black raspberry ice with fudge swirl and chocolate flex, yummy

This place is definitely not closed. I was just there today and both the service and ice cream were amazing!

Great ice cream. The staff are fast and very friendly. The portions are excellent. Its located downtown and around the marina. So it offers a nice spot in a safe area to sit. I often drive further down the road to the beach and eat my ice cream there and catch a pretty sunset. The street can get loud at night with the bar crowd making their way to the multitude of establishments. This is a nice town and often these people are just loud but friendly. **Parking can be a pain with the bar crowd stealing spots. Hopefully management can get some signs for reserving spots for only Scoopy Doo costumers. It would improve the experience.

Come for ice cream and bring your whole family. It’s a very cute ice cream place in a small house. They have all the main flavors and some interesting ones to boot. I tried the blood orange and passion fruit sorbet and I loved the passion fruit but the blood orange was way too bitter for my taste.

The kids beg to go to Scoopy Doos! We make an evening of it and walk along the harbor! Check it out

I had just moved to Milford, CT and discovered this tucked away gem. Scoopy’s offers a variety of flavors in ice cream, sorbets, and gelatos. They have your traditional favorites like chocolate, vanilla, and butter pecan as well as the not so traditional for the more adventorous types! They ranged from ginger to roasted almond to house favorites like the swamp(cookies and cream ice cream with malthed milk balls mixed in) and quick sand(vanilla ice cream with caramel and butterfinger). It’s a cute little place right on the water, so you can grab your 2 scoop ice cream for about $ 3.50 and grab a seat and boat watch. Don’t forget this place is CASHONLY!!!

Great ice cream & gelato! Interesting flavors and the basics too. Great courtyard and seating area. There was even a band playing(since this was our first time not sure if this is a regular thing or not). Perfect on a summer evening.

Very good ice cream shop for downtown Milford, convenient for after lunch/dinner nearby. They have a wide variety of ice cream flavors and toppings which make it worth several visits. It’s right next to a marina with plenty of chairs and benches so you can watch the ducks and ships float by. Personally, I prefer the Sundae House not too far away(about a mile down the road) if you’re mobile. Great if you’re near the green space though.

This place is awesome! I had the Quicksand(Vanilla ice cream, caramel and Butterfinger swirls) on a sugar cone and it was AMAZING! Not too sweet and had a hint of saltiness. Plus it was less than $ 4 for 2 huge scoops.

Scoopy Doo’s is one of those places that makes you wish Connecticut had only one season, SUMMER!!! Located in Milford harbor you and your ice cream can sit on a bench overlooking the water and watch the boats come and go.

While I agree that the ice cream is enjoyable, and I love the marshmallow at the bottom of the cone, this place would not be my first choice. The bugs alone will leave you with twenty plus bug bites before you even order. Not to mention the questionable acts of the employees that occur behind the brick walls. I much prefer Cone Zone, since there is more variety.

Little challenging to find unless you know Milford well. Ice cream quality and price is best deal in Milford. Sundaes on new haven ave is probably better quality, but you need to take a 2nd mortgage out to afford it.

This place deserves almost full acknowledgment just by the name! Okey, I don’t give them 5 stars because they don’t have dark chocolate and they seem to carry the same flavors every year. Where’s the creativity! Anyway, the do have a big array of flavors and gelattos. So everyone will find something. I wholeheartedly recommend theirs as the best banana ice cream in New England. Then…the place… what is there to be said. Within the Milford Marina, it is dreamy and tranquil as Tim Burton could ‘ve thought of. Nice walk. Only open during boating season: May through Halloween.

Scoopy Doo’s is a good place to get ice cream. To start they have a large assortment of Buck’s ice cream, with a few flavors of gelato and sorbet thrown into the mix. It’s not homemade, but Buck’s is still the good stuff. As a bonus, they a special dog-sized ice cream cup for around 50 cents. Thankfully, the human portions are reasonably priced as well. Scoopy Doo’s is situated right next to a marina, which provides for nice views, plenty of seating and a pleasant atomosphere. At a lot of ice cream places, there’s only a parking lot to sit in, which is fine for some circumstances. But there are times when you don’t just want to drown your sorrows in sugar and diary before your 4:15 with your therapist to discuss your depression over you lactose intolerance and adult-onset diabetes. Here, you could sit for a little while and just enjoy being outside and not feel rushed as though someone needs your seat. That’s probably the way getting ice cream should be.
