Pickles is a Milford, CT staple and has been around for as long as I can remember. Growing up in the area, I have always been a loyal fan of this establishment. Although it doesn’t look like much from out outside(looks like a small red house with a parking lot), the food inside is fantastic and they serve Boar’s Head meats. I usually order the buffalo chicken sandwich but on a wrap instead. The chicken is fried, but there isn’t too much breading on it so it still has a great taste. Their buffalo sauce is also awesome — Perfect amount of spice to it. If you go before 11 am, you can get their breakfast sandwiches which are also amazing and some of the cheapest in the area. I believe they are about 3 dollars each. The bacon is always crispy and they are ready for you usually in about 10 minutes. There is a 5 dollar minimum for cards so if you are just getting a breakfast sandwich, bring some cash. There is outdoor seating in the back but it doesn’t have any views, so if you want to sit outside after picking up Pickles, you can go right across the street to Eisenhower Park and enjoy your lunch. Don’t go here for ambiance, go to get some great sandwiches.

If you want a decent sized sandwich on a fresh roll with thinly sliced mountains of cold cuts… This is your spot. So friggin’ good.

This Dan V. clown would probably have a heart attack if he ever walked into a bodega deli in NYC. What a dumb dumb! THISPLACEISTHEBOMBDOTCOM!!! Best sandwiches in Milford. Who cares about atmosphere? It’s a deli, get your sandwich and get out! Psh. I bet Dan V takes a shower if he even looks at a dive bar. He probably has a butler and maids throughout his 14 room mansion. I bet he even owns a gold encrusted bidet. Anyway, this deli is amazing, don’t let this 2 star reviewing no-nothing dongbag change your opinion. Get the turkey.

I’ve been going here for years, their chicken cheddar club is excellent. The place doesn’t look like much, but the sandwiches and soups are good. Other than that, they don’t have much of a selection of chips or drinks

We came into town for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We were out and about exploring the area on Wednesday afternoon when we came across Pickles Deli. My husband and I split a Turkey and asiago cheese special. It was HEAVEN! I have never in my life tasted anything so delicious. To top it off the service was kind and pleasant. Thank You so much. We will be back every time we are in town =). Must Try!!!

Pure brilliance in its simplicity, Pickles is so straightforward that if you get something you don’t like then you’ve probably got poor taste in sandwiches.

I often wonder how to sound fair when I’m writing a review for a place that I never want to come back to… ever. The food: I got myself a sandwich here yesterday, and it was typical Boar’s head. The ingredients were good and I didn’t feel like they cheaped out with the amount of meat. The place: What a rickety shack. I realize it’s a town relic, but there’s proper puddles on the front porch. The light inside is terrible and there is no atmosphere to speak of, other than it being really cold. There’s no stock to speak of. They have a really minimal selection of cookies chips soda and Snapple. There are 10 total packs of cigarettes on the wall. The service: It was pretty clear that nobody in this place wanted to be there. Nobody smiled or asked how we were doing. There were four employees and two customers but it took nearly 10 minutes to make our two turkey sandwiches. After the reasonably polite young man took our orders, another seemingly competent young man proceeded to assist him in the preparation. Everything was fine, but some really miserable old lady came out of the back to interfere and confuse the perfectly capable young men, further delaying the process. Other: While we were waiting at the register, an employee or relative or something came in, made himself a sandwich behind the counter, and left. After we finally escaped from the store, we ate in the car(no seating of course) and observed the old woman feeding two feral cats out back. I’m done. I hope never to go back. If the objectives of a deli are convenience and good food, they get about 0.75÷2.

This your typical ‘country style’ deli. It is small and thus, easy to miss while driving by, but be on the lookout! With its generous sized sandwiches, phenomenal prices, very friendly staff and delicious, fresh cold/hot meats, Pickles Deli is a great spot to hit on your lunch break if you’re ever in the area. The selections are typical of a deli, along with specialty sandwiches and a variety of sides/salads to choose from. Every sandwich comes with a free pickle as well! I’ve gotten the chicken cutlet with LT& mayo; simple, but yummy nonetheless. I also enjoy their roast beef because it is perfectly rare(for my taste) and juicy! I always get my sandwiches on their Portuguese rolls; so good!!! I was a little disappointed with the buffalo pasta salad last time. It definitely had a nice kick to it but it was a little heavy on the blue cheese, which made it a little too tangy and I couldn’t finish it. Still, the prices are unbeatable for the portions you receive, and my favorite part about this place is the consistency of its sandwiches. They are always made how I want them, always neat, and always enough. Give this place a try :-)

The first review, bonus! I moved to the area last year for grad school, and my roommates from Milford told me about Pickles when I wanted to find a solid local deli. I come here at least once a week for a grinder and have yet to disappointed. It is a bare-bones kind of place, no seating, no real flare. but it honestly doesn’t matter. They are the perfect deli: good bread, good roast beef, quick service, and a free pickle with every sandwich. Done. Everyone needs a place like this for a solid, appropriately priced grinder. This is my go-to deli, thank god for Pickles, otherwise my soul would be lost!
