BEST pizza in the area hands down! Crispy, italian, this rivals Pepe’s from way back in the day i swear on my Italian Gambino grandmother and i mean it! You feeding some finicky old time Italians in town to visit you– you bring em this pizza! They’ll rave! I’d give more stars if there were more to give, great job papa’s!!!

I’d give them 6 stars if I could! The absolute best pizza in milford. To bad they don’t deliver, they would make a killing! Call early on Friday, there could be some wait. Very friendly ppl.

Fantastic pizza with crunchy, chewy crust and amazing home made flavor, like how any good New Haven style pizza should be. My friends and I came here as part of a pizza crawl and Russ made us feel at home. It was the best start to a wonderful trip and he embodies what people from Connecticut are: Warm, humble, hard working, and damn proud of their fantastic pizza. Thanks Russ. Everybody should try this pizza.

Best pizza hole in the wall in my new town. No nonsense place to pick up a pie. A delicious, delicious pie.

I used to like Papas but I realized tonight they suck!!! After years of going there they close an hour and a half early because they are out of dough?!? What kind of ghetto pizza place can’t have enough dough on hand? Imagine a burger joint being out of buns? A bar being out of booze? Archie Moores out of wings? That never happens!!! But Papas out of dough! You suck! Lost my business for good!

So I tried once and couldn’t get a pie. But I ordered the bacon and garlic pizza. Delicious.

I used to live in NYC, home to the best pizza in the whole of existence. That warped my perspective on pizza — which is a nice way of saying my years there transformed me into a pizza snob. I therefore must state my allegiance: Patsy’s Pizza on 116th and 1st Ave. — NOT one of the other franchises bearing the same name. The one up there in Harlem is the*real* Patsy’s. Now comes the important bit. Papa’s pizza is the closest thing I can get to Patsy’s without actually going to Harlem. There are lots of good Pizza’s in CT(some famous in their own right), but not a one of ‘em is able to pull off a real New York style thin crust pizza. Not a one of ‘em except Papa’s. Other awesome facts: 1.) If they say 15 minutes, it’s 15 minutes, if they say 45, it’s 45.(why is this so hard for other pizza places?) 2.) The staff is AWESOME. They’re friendly and they believe in the golden rule of business, «the customer is always right» Only thing to watch out for is that in the summer don’t wait until just before closing time to get your pie because this place is so good, that yeah, sometimes, they run out of their made on site pizza dough.

I have been eating there for over 10 yrs. They have the best pizza ever. I order mine cooked a bit less so it’s less burnt on the edges and with extra sauce which is my favorite part! You won’t be disappointed if you eat there!

The best place to get pizza in Milford and one of my favorite places in general. Their pizza is excellent but so are their calzone’s and grinders. The owner’s, Russ and Rob, are great guys who make you feel welcome in their shop. Papa’s is a fantastic Newhaven Style pizza place with great service. Give one of their specialty pizzas a try.

BESTPIZZAINMILFORD! Have been eating here since we moved around the corner 17 years ago. Their prices are fair and I don’t feel they are too expensive. Their specialty pies are fantastic as is their plain cheese… just the perfect balance of thin crispy crust, sauce and salty cheese. Also try their baked ziti… Russ’s tomato sauce is hands down my favorite. I could eat a whole loaf of Italian bread and a dish of his sauce alone! And if you’re craving Pizza on a Monday when they’re closed… no worries as Papas Pizza II is open! You’ll never have to worry about not getting your Papas fix! The only«con» is they don’t deliver.

Me and my fiancé ordered pizza from here. This is possibly THE best pizza you can get outside of new haven! Maybe even better! Me being new to the area I heard about this place from a friend and I was pleasantly surprised! The crust is so good! Sauce is nice and sweet as sauce should be. Toppings are fresh! This will definitely be our go to Pizza place! 5 stars!

It’s a little expensive, but it’s worth it. I got a specialty pizza with shrimp on it — and they did not skimp on the shrimp. Most places either cut the shrimp in half, or only put a handful. But these guys covered the pizza in it. It was awesome. The cheese was perfect too, maybe a little salty, but overall I’d recommend to anyone looking for a good pizza. FYI no seating, takeout only.

I will pay for food if its worth it. This place is a cool hole in the wall take out joint with a great reputation in its town and the whole area BUT for me it was to expensive and lots of hype. Doesn’t mean it’s not good maybe it’s just not for me but I appreciate what they do.

Bar none, the best New Haven-style pie in Milford(and maybe CT). I love this kind of pizza, and there’s enough toppings to choose from to make any pizza fan happy. No delivery, but well worth the drive. Check their website for coupons, too; usually a Mon-Wed special.

I am specifically comparing this to Villa Pizza in Stratford, CT for The Pie we like: Thin, no sauce, vegges, cooked well, no egg in dough, not greasy, and fresh ingredients. They were on the verge of beating our favorite except for one big thing. It was greasy! We we’re enjoying each slice, but every time we took one we were thought«oh man, this is not good, really good but… Too much grease… what a shame.» So if you don’t mind grease then I think you will be pressed to find better in the area. Otherwise, just go to Villa Pizza in Stratford. This justifies the«Meh, I’ve had better»

To start, yes Papa’s Pizza absolutely lives up to the hype of its reputation. Having just moved to Milford, basically down the street from the place, I HAD to try it. We ordered a large meatball and it was amazing! Seems a little pricier than some other places in town but it’s totally worth it since you get a great quality pie. It’s exactly like traditional New Haven style thin crust pizza which I grew up eating so I’d say I can be a rather harsh pizza critic. I hope to try some of their specialty pizzas in the future which all sound delicious. The wait on the weekend is usually super long(we waited 45 min-1hr) so definitely call well in advance of when you want the food. Papa’s proves that you don’t have to be in New Haven to get great brick oven pizza!
