Jerry’s Bait & Tackle

Much different experience from the first couple times. Very friendly, very helpful. Impressed by Jerry and his staff. Glad I tried it out again.

Great shop. Been going here since he was at the old shop in skate palace. Im here twice a week for shiners and icefishing gear and always has the needed essentials. Bought an eskimo auger here aswell and it was a great purchase.

I drive an hour to go see Jerry, and why? Because he’s that good.
It’s a pretty simple fact that the sporting edition big box stores are looking for one thing — Money. Spend an afternoon with Jerry and Rick and it becomes obvious that they’re in it for the love of the sport.
I was given a bow by a co-​worker, it was old and needed a lot of help. The big box store near where i live told me that it was a waste and i should just buy one of their expensive bows and be done with it. Jerry, on the other hand, i walked in with my decades old bow and within 30 minutes he had turned it back into a viscous target hunter.
After a while i bought a brand new Hoyt Charger from Jerry and more or less have since retired my old bow. The difference is that i would much rather support a guy that was willing to work with what i had first, rather than the big stores that tried to milk my wallet the moment i walked through the door.
Now just to add a bit about the shop environment. I would go here even if i wasn’t a hunter. Walking in is like going to hang out with a bunch of old friends. Everyone is telling their stories, laughing, and joking. You’ve got guys walking in with giant fish that they just pulled, all so they can show off their catch. It’s a great place to be.
Bottom line — Jerry’s is a store, but its also an experience you wont forget. Check it out!

Jerry knows his stuff. he has a great selection of hoyt bows. if you buy a bow there you get one year of free lane time in the archery range upstairs. whether its a rod or a bow, he’ll set you up great.
