Have been going here for a year, the food is always delicious and I’ve never had bad customer service! My family was in town last summer from New York state and enjoyed the food so much, my dad still talks about it! Their daily specials are a great value and very tasty!

OK so this place was recommended to me by a friend and wanting to do something different we decided to go and after checking Unilocal reviews it sounded really great and was excited to try it went with the three meat combo after reading that it was a lot of food so that we could split it big mistake first off only three of the meats were even available and none were the ones we wanted so that aside when the food cane I actually had to ask the waitress if that was everything because the portions of meat and the sides were so abismally small that I thought there was no way this could be everything but after checking she came back to assure me that was everything the meat we did try was good in taste but for almost 40 bucks we both left still hungry and we wiped the plate clean honestly I just installed this app to post a review because I was that dissatisfied with the portions and the service the girl behind the counter was really impersonal and offered next to no help after leaving us standing at the counter for almost ten minutes before greeting us and asking if we wanted to order while she putted around the empty lobby with her broom all in all I won’t be back even though the food we did get tasted good I expect more than a pinch of French fries and a spoon full of potatoes salad in a 25 $ combo plate just really disappointed with the whole experience

Honestly, I am borderline done with this place. It’s too bad the food is so darn good because their customer service is the worst. Had to wait on hold for seven minutes for a take-out order today. Make sure you don’t ask them to include barbecue sauce in your order, they’ll just tell you to get it yourself. Also, make sure not to sign up for their rewards program because if the employee doesn’t know how to work the machine then you’re just crap out of luck. Never mind the hundreds of dollars you’ve spent with their business. Maybe one day I’ll come back, until then, sayonara Carnivores!

I arrived on a Monday afternoon around 1 pm with high hopes. No rush to go back but would return to try again. The smell of BBQ meat as you open the door was intoxicating! So far so good. Unfortunately for me the food didn’t deliver the same feeling. I see a lot of good 5 star reviews. I either caught them(Carnivores) on bad day or there is people out there who don’t know what good BBQ is. Maybe it’s me? IMO the food I got was ok. I got the St. Louis ribs and the collard greens. Not bad but not stellar either. Disappointed. There is no real BBQ competitor in the Milford area so for now if you want BBQ you will have to settle for mediocrity. Ambience was ok, service was friendly but didn’t really listen to what I wanted to order. Take out order consisted of a rack and a half of ribs and a pint of collard greens. 48 dollars. The Ribs were bland. The exterior of the meat was chewy with an overlooked quality to it. The interior of the meat was tender and juicy but bland. Copious amounts of sauce was needed which I hate to do. I want to taste the smokey flavor and spice bouquet of the meat. The Collard greens were bland as well but ok once salt was added. They were also on the dry side which seems to fly in the face of reason.

This place has a rustic/divey ambiance. They seem very patriotic the have an awesome wooden flag on the wall and multiple military flags. Food is amazing I ordered a 3meat and two side meal. It was about 25 $ and it’s easily two meals an I’m a big guy so it’s definitely worth it. The pinion rings are light and well seasoned and still have some bite to them unlike the heavily battered mush rings at other places. The fried Mac and cheese is to die for! The meats are all very juicy and flavour packed. The only thing I diddnt like here was the corn bread it was very dense and dry. But they still get five stars for there awesome BBQ. Give this place a shot if you like good food and good prices.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for the longest. I finally had the chance to try it last night. Definitely a waste of money, I’m glad i ordered a small! I ordered the burnt end to try it with my bf. Both of us couldn’t even finish it, it was that bad. The meat was very dry and dark, looks like it was dipped in bbq sauce that’s all. Sadly, it looked more like something where I would feed it to my dog. In the end, we took a few bites and threw it away and ordered some pizza instead.

Good tasting barbecue & sides! I got the burnt ends & brisket with smoked beans and cole slaw(both made in house). Mouthwatering & tender! They serve four different sauces! A sweeter KC-style, spicy, North Carolina mustard, South Carolina vinegar. The service was really friendly(Sue is great!). If you are in the area and jonesing for some smoked meaty goodness, this is the place to come!

I don’t know if the quality was down because it was a Sunday night or what but we were not impressed. The meat was decent(they were out of my favorite burnt ends) but the sides were awful. The Mac and cheese looked like easy Mac, the cornbread was stale and the coleslaw was sour. I paid 16 dollars for two meats and two sides and was still hungry. The portion sizes are pathetic. I won’t be going back here. Commonwealth BBQ in Wrentham is much better.

When they first opened i was very excited. Until we ordered. Alot of the meats were very dry and tasted old or burnt. I had got the jalapeño corn poppers which is normally really good but i got a really burnt and awful batch. I called to tell them and said that it was the batch they got and weren’t making more nor did they know if the next day they would have a new batch. I was very upset. The prices are high and the portions are small. The corn bread is dry old n cold. But the house bbq sauce is amazing and my favorite. The chicken however is delicious.

We bought — full rack of ribs with one side and corn bread $ 26 — large brisket(bulked smoked meat) $ 24 — ½ chicken with one side and corn bread $ 11 The chicken and ribs were too dry. Parts of the ribs were practically meat jerky. The brisket is hardly bulk meat. For $ 24 is comes with only 7 slices. Only good for 2 people. They said it’s enough for 4 people. 1 ¾ slices per person? $ 3.43 per slice? The sides comes in tiny cup. The same cup size when you get free samples at Costo or BJ’s. The small sides at KFC is about twice larger than these. The corn bread needs more leavening. It’s hard, solid and not much flavor.

Where do I start… my bf and I were visiting the area for a few days and were very excited to see a BBQ joint with such positive reviews in mass! We ordered the 4 meat combo with 2 sides. double brisket, burnt ends, and quarter chicken. Brisket was so dry I smothered it in their fake version of southen sauce. burnt ends were literally the scraps they would chuck but thought maybe they could get a few bucks. chicken moist but no flavor. Rice and Mac n chz for sides. where are they? Oh there they are, under my tiny piece of chicken. a small scoop for each of us… and yuck! How long did that sit out?! Ok ok we got cornbread. thank goodness. NOT! Hard as a rock! Like a cement sponge! I bounced it off the countertop. So bottom line and 40 bucks later and were ready to hit up wendys. Keep driving to myrtle beach

What a awesome bbq place. The ribs were so large and meaty. We both could not finish are ½ rack. We tried each of rhe sauces. I have to say the spicey bbq was sweet and species at the same. We live in upstate ny but will diffently will return.

First of all, I am from the South, and if we drive past a BBQ restaurant, I have to stop. I’m also the type of cook that taught myself how to cook by taste, so I can pick out flavors in food. Makes it hard to go out to eat, but I’m always down to try someone else’s cooking. So we happen upon this place after leaving Milford hungry on a Sunday afternoon. Sure, there are plenty of places to eat, but the ones we’d decided on were either crazy busy or closed. I was ready to resign, but the clouds parted, birds were singing, and here was a BBQ joint. We parked and went in, giddy and hungry. The first thing I noticed is that you smell nothing from the outside of the building. Not normal for BBQ, you should smell some hickory outside, but you know, it’s Sunday. We go in, and I’ll be honest – the smell of smoke hits you. It’s really strong. The guy working the counter was obviously not happy to be at work – customer service certainly isn’t his strong point. We decide to split a three-meat meal, with pulled pork, brisket, and turkey with cole slaw, collards, and a side of fried mac & cheese. We sit down and get some of their sauces – Carolina Vinegar sauce for me, Spicy sauce, and house BBQ. Noticeably missing is a mustard sauce. The sauces were awful. The vinegar sauce tasted like some Ken’s Italian salad dressing with extra vinegar. There was no tomato base in it, and it was very oily. The spicy sauce tasted like ketchup with a ton of cayenne added. The house sauce tasted more like a can of tomato paste with vinegar and probably some sort of seasonings, but it was awful. I thought maybe it’d be better on the food. Our food arrived, and the $ 3 bit of fried mac & cheese was about a 4″ square. While the idea was good, and the breading was crunchy, the actual mac & cheese tasted like a box of imitation Velveeta. I dig in to the collards, which were freshly made. Again, no seasoning. After adding salt & pepper, they were better. The cole slaw was abysmal. Perhaps they need to use some of the vinegar in the Carolina sauce, but the cole slaw just needed more help than I could give at the table. The pulled pork was mediocre. Anyone could shove a pork butt in a smoker and get the exact same results. The brisket was well-seasoned on the outside, but again, lackluster. The turkey was incredibly bland. I actually think it wasn’t smoked, I feel like it was oven baked with liquid smoke. You couldn’t even taste the smoke in the turkey, nor was there any smoke rings. Then there was the«cornbread.» Now, I’m not a huge fan of cornbread, but I’ve made it from scratch a few times. This stuff? It was like a Jiffy mix gone bad. I’m not sure exactly what was added to it, but the slice of cornbread weighed about a pound, and it was like a thick sponge. Bottom line – this totally misses the mark, and frankly, as a girl from the South who’s crazy about food, this place doesn’t deserve the right to be called a BBQ restaurant. I left pissed off that we spent $ 32 on a terrible meal. As we pulled out, I even drove around by the back because I wanted to check if they actually had a smoker out back.(There was a shed with stacked wood, but if that was the smoker, it was not on at the time.) The food isn’t homemade, it’s all food service products – there are no additions. The sauces were an afterthought, and likely not cooked, just mixed together. For crying out loud, even the addition of salt and pepper would be welcome. I think the owners watched too many episodes of Pitmasters and thought they could open up their own place. Steer clear of this place, sadly.

While I’m a firm believer that there is no such thing as bad bbq, this place definitely could use improvement considering the prices and portions. The sides, especially the onion rings, are better than the sandwiches. The old Smokehouse sandwiches were much better.

It seems that great BBQ places are disappearing across New England. But this one gives me the impression that it’s here at stay. It façade is small so it can be tough to see. GPS sent me in a circle. Not a big deal tho. I walk in and 3 very happy African guys are RAVING about the place. They were so happy they made me happy. And very excited to try the food. I ordered a 2×2 combo. Brisket and Porketta with Pit Beans and Cole Slaw. The Smithers ring on the Brisket was deep and dark fading to pink. The Porketta was falling apart tender and fueled with garlic. Really amazing. Cole slaw shredded and well seasoned. Pit beans silky and delicious. I took ribs to go. Slow smoked. Powerful. Fall off the bone. Really great. The corn bread was moist and tasty. The staff was friendly and informative. They deliver(catering) anywhere in New England. I will be returning!

Solid BBQ in Milford, MA? Yeah, thought it was hard to believe at first too. But hey, I’ve been wrong plenty of times before, so I thought it was worth a gamble. Luckily, it paid off in full. Carnivores is an unassuming little storefront near the local bowling spot, removed slightly from the main Milford dining seen on the part of Main Street closest to the highway. They’ve got a great selection of meats, both to-order and raw to cook yourself. Ever tried Tri-Tip or Burnt Ends? Well, now you’ve got a great opportunity to do so, and I’d highly recommend either.(Tip: A sandwich with Burnt Ends, Guac, and Pit Roasted Beans is hard to beat). Carnivores also has the standards like pulled pork and chicken, feel-good Mac N Cheese, a few homemade sauces, and a bevy of sides available to choose from(collard greens for the win!). The one downside is the price; a typical lunch will run you $ 10 – 12. Not horrible for a quality product, but that’s definitely holding me back from being a true-blooded regular, at least for lunch. But yeah, add this place to your MetroWest list of places to visit, because Carnivores does a good job at brining that down-home southern flavor to the frigid Northeast. Go and get you some.

Went for lunch here a couple of times. The pulled pork was bad, very dry and sauce less. They had a couple sauces on the side but they were all very watery and too sweet. The south west salad, fried pickles, and burnt ends(because it’s actually cooked in the sauce) are great. I wish they had an appetizer sampler and that fries came with the sandwich, the prices are higher than I usually want to pay for only a sandwich. It would be worth the price if it came with a side of fries. The fries are also good. All that said I still come here when I want bbq.

First off this place smells like meat heaven! We tried a bunch of things since we live a few towns away and I know I wouldn’t typically drive this far for BBQ. We got the cheese curd appetizer, pretty much tasted like fried mozzarella but a little lighter, they were good and the dipping sauce was good(not food I’d typically eat though) I just never had cheese curds before and wanted to try them. We had the 4 meat combo with the pulled pork –good, the brisket was nice and smokey, the pork ribs-again nice smoke but no sauce on them and while I do prefer a drier bbq a little sauce or sauce on the side would have made it better IMO, the best of the four meats were the burnt ends-those were fantastic and needed nothing. The cornbread could use some help, it was very bland, in fact I’ve never had a more bland cornbread. Had the fried mac and cheese, it was decent, and the collard greens were ok. There are a few booths if you want to eat there and they have sodas. Almost forgot the big winner here was the store smoked pig ear for the dog!

************ BBQ ********* BBQ ****** BBQ ******* We were looking for local BBQ and turned to Unilocal and found Carnivores, grabbed the teenager and jumped in the family truckster. The first thing you’ll notice is this BBQ joint is next to a packie, that a plus. The second thing is the great smell that hits you when you walk in the joint. Since it’s new you won’t get that«we’ve been around forever feel» but their is some character, and four tables. The menu is simple, appetizers, sandwiches, smoked meats by the ¼ pound, combinations with side, and bulk smoke meats. The smoked meats are dry rubbed and sauced when served. Carnivores has all the typical smoked meats, with the one exception mentioned by other Unilocalers’ of the Tri-Tips, if you’ve never tried em’ it’s worth the 4 bucks. OK to the meal… The fams’ got two Burnt Ends sandwiches, a Tri-Tip sandwich and a Deconstructed Wedge Salad. Unfortunately the the Burnt Ends were the end of the supply, so the were not perfect. The chunks were large 1 inch squares, very chewy, however on the the up side there was a really nice smoky flavor, and they were still juicy, so we chocked it up the end of the supply. On the bright side, they have fantastic bread for their sandwiches. The Tri-Tip sandwich was excellent, smoky, tender, however it would have been nice if they had grilled the Tri-Tips in the BBQ sauce before serving to create the Tri-Tip glaze. The fams’ eating team used the Deconstructed Wedge as a foil for a BBQ lettuce wrap, you ‘ll get onions, bacon, blue cheese crumble and diced tomatoes, just add smoked meats. Overall Carnivores is off to a great start, Four Stars, if they keep up the consistency, and maintain standards they should be a great local BBQ joint. ************ BBQ ********* BBQ ****** BBQ *******
