I have avoided Bob Evans for about ten years, because the quality was just not there(I was once served FROZEN home fries. That is, the ice was still on them.) Yesterday, we gave them another try and were favorably impressed: service was excellent and every bit of food was delicious. Today I read they’re closing 27 locations because«Cracker Barrel has a lunch and dinner allure» as well as breakfast. NOTSOMUCH. The real reason people have been avoiding Bob Evans is because, for years, the quality was poor. The shame of it is, the recent meal I had there was really A-OK. Too little, too late, I guess.

I placed a carryout order. The young man working the register was new, so I was patient with him. He did make a mistake and charged me for 6 rolls instead of 3, but the problem was quickly corrected. He did a good job. My food came out in a timely manner and tasted great when I got home. Great customer service at this location!

Just what it should be. Normal food, nice waitress fast service. Wife had a 6 pm breakfast and I had chicken dinner. Nothing was off key or odd.

Bob Evans always had really good food and service. But both have gone downhill fast at this location lately. The next time Bob Evans pops into my head for dinner, I’ll probably think twice and go elsewhere.

I don’t know what’s going on with this Bob Evans lately. I’ve eaten there twice in the last month and all the servers act as if they hate their jobs. The first trip I ordered raspberry sweet tea and they were featuring strawberry tea. I took a sip of my raspberry and it tasted off. I asked the server if it was raspberry, and explained it didn’t taste right. She told me «well that’s where I got it from. I don’t know what to tell you!» She acted as if I was inconveniencing her by asking for a plain one. I was there again over the weekend and our server brought us water without even asking for our drink orders, brought our food, then proceeded to roll silverware at the counter for twenty minutes. Never checked on our food once, nor did she ever bring us refills. When I asked for a tea to go at the register, a manager asked an employee to get it for him, and she said, «I DON’T WAANNAAAHHHH». Next time I’ll go to Cracker Barrel instead.

Hey, I love Bob Evans… and always have(except during their«Bobburrito» phase– you win some, you lose some, right?). Lately, they’re updated their look for a calmer, country bistro feel instead of the aggressive roosters and red-checked vibe. It actually does make the place more inviting and pleasant. This particular location is, of course, busy on Sundays, but the service is usually quite friendly. And I recommend trying a banana nut bread instead of toast with your breakfast.
