The restaurant appears to be shut down, it hasn’t opened for months but like other posts reported the service went way down after the lose of the chef. The food started out amazing, but the last time I was there all I heard was the sound of microwave doors slamming and the beeps of frozen food being heated. The food went from great to as bad as it could possibly be. I am not sure what happened but I feel bad for the women who ran this restaurant.

Unilocal reviews of the food are mostly very positive. This reviewer does not disagree with others about the food, though I’ve only visited once and limited myself to the dumplings, which I’d give a B+. This review is about everything BUT the food. Eating at the Beijing Dumpling House was easily the most bizarre restaurant experience I’ve ever had in the US or maybe a dozen other countries. Why? First, there was its appearance. * The rather small restaurant sports 7 different kinds of tables, populated with 5 different kinds of chairs. The table in the private room was outfitted with 3 different kinds of chairs! * Most tables but one were bare, devoid of any place settings; 2 had napkin dispensers; oddly, the lone table near the front door was covered with a pink(!) plastic«tablecloth». * A side table in the private room was equipped with a number of books, most on food or wine, but none concerned Chinese cuisine. One of the books was The Life and Political Memoirs of Speaker Tip O’Neill! * The floor was of off-white tiles and very dirty; a rubber-bottomed short-napped carpet was filthy. Then there was the service. * I had to ask for a menu. * I selected a bottle of beer from the self-service cooler. The waitress busied herself busing other tables, so I had to ask her to open the beer. * She failed to provide a glass, so I had to ask for one. * The glass she brought was dirty, so I had to ask for another. * When my meal arrived, there was no napkin, so I had to ask for one. I had to make 5 requests for things that should have been provided automatically. The owner apologized that the waitress was«temporarily helping out». But that’s not an acceptable excuse — foisting a clueless substitute on customers is inexcusable. To add to all this weirdness, * The owner happened to mention that the restaurant would soon be closed for 2 months(for personal reasons — she was traveling to China). * The two diners at the next table were silently staring at their smartphone screens. Go figure.

Food was decent, but atmosphere was in need of a TLC.

The main chef quitted his job, thus, Not very good food, lack of service, dishonest owner! Long story short, they served us frozen soup dumplings(we got the same kind at our local supermarket) instead of homemade dumplings, lied to us about our seafood soup dumplings which clearly had no seafood in it whatsoever and charged us $ 1.39 more for the same kind of frozen pork dumplings!!! The owner didn’t even serve us ANYWATER!!! DONOTGOTHERE! unless you want to pay for frozen dumplings where you can buy them yourself at your local Asian supermarket. PS. The owner told us the main chef is taking a «vacation». Oh right, the chef already left his job according to your other waitress.

I went to Beijing Dumpling House after reading all the positive reviews. I definitely expected more. I’d suggest only getting the dumplings if you are coming here. Other dishes’ portions were very small and it definitely was overpriced for the quality that you were getting. I’ll repeat again. The dumplings were delicious. Just don’t get anything else. And dumplings are slightly overpriced too.

In short: The quality of food is very good. The portions of food could be bigger for the price. The employees are very rude. Order takeout if possible due to the overwhelming foul odor of the kitchen.

The food was excellent. Pork soup dumplings, 3 delights dumplings, beijing hamburger, spring rolls & fried rice all super yummy. The woman who greeted us was inviting & gracious. She offered us suggestions. She thanked us for coming and asked us if we would be back. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dumplings. The interior is nothing fancy but very clean.

The menu is too basic for what you might want or expect from a local hole in the wall specialty food place. More so, the service by a well meaning but utterly clueless non Asian woman ruined any chance at a good experience. She had to be asked by us, and the owner, to bring things like say… Plates and oh… Napkins and what bout say… Water. Really a mess. She also didn’t know the menu at all even though there were about 12 things on it. Strange ambiance, super thrown together tables, plates and silverware. Off smell in the kitchen. Food was a 2.5 ish… Really too bad. Would have been great if this place was good.

Wonderful Northern style Chinese food! Good Chinese restaurants are hard to find outside of the Boston area, and Northern style food is even more rare. The owner was so friendly and made great suggestions. We went on a Sunday afternoon after some mountain biking nearby. We started with fresh, hot, soy milk, along with some home made pastries. Then we tried a few different types of dumplings and some beef noodle soup. VERY good! The dumplings were served with homemade Mala(the northern style chili sauce). One thing worth mentioning, this is Northern style, the owner is from Beijing, and the cook is from the North East. This isn’t Dim Sum. When we were there, we noticed a few tables that seemed to be confusing this with Cantonese food. I can’t wait to go back!

I’ve eaten at Beijing Dumpling House 3 times. Everytime the food was fantastic. The food is very traditional, I enjoyed their Beijing beef noodles(北京牛肉面), any dumplings I have ordered, as well as their fried dumplings(生煎包). The first time I went the service seemed typical of a Chinese restaraunt, not much interaction. The second and third time I went, the service was great! The owner is from China and was very nice to chat with. She even offered me off the menu, cold dishes from the weekend. Mmm delicious!

Excellent food considering it’s Milford. We had the braised pork(pork belly) rice plate, pork buns, steamed soup dumplings, and pork rib noodles plate. I’m giving it 4 stars because the portions are small. The rice plate was pathetic with only 4 – 5 small prices of pork belly. Charge me more, but don’t give me a small plate!

Authentic Chinese food in Milford? How’d we get so lucky? Lady who runs it is straight from China, it just opened so give them a little slack. Quality of food is through the roof and coming from a guy who frequents Asia quite a bit, don’t expect the service that we Americans have come to demand. It will take them time to acclimate to the service we have come to expect. Apart from that, the food is ridiculously delicious, from the noodle soups to dumplings. This food is as authentic as it gets!

Food quality is high. That’s as far as I can go. Possibly the rudest service I have ever experienced. The woman who seems to be the owner was extremely rushed and rude to us, throwing plates down and scoffing at any requests we made. The«tea» we had to ask for tasted like hot water with a drop of soy sauce for color. Suggestion for owner; Stay in the kitchen and hire a personable waitron, one who greets customers with a smile and doesn’t make them feel like they aren’t welcome in your establishment.

We visited yesterday and were very pleased with the quality of the food. Dim sum that rivals the best of China Town. Loved the steamed buns with soup and pork inside each. Can’t wait to return. Telling all my friends about this wonderful place.

This place is incredible! I stopped in here on a whim and I couldn’t have been more suprised. The food here is homemade fresh, authentic Chinese cuisine. Everything I ate was divine. I had a silly grin on my face while I was eating, I was truly in dumpling heaven. The owner of the restaurant greeted us she was very kind and they offered us complimentary hot tea! Not only is the food here delicious, but it is so affordable! I was shocked when the bill came to see how little it cost. It make you think thay every other American Chinese restaurant is totally ripping you off! This is the place… Hands down.

When I first found this place thanks to Unilocal hot new business section. Steamed soup dumpling in the Metrowest area this was very exciting. To find these types of dim sum you need to go into a busy city area and fight traffic and parking. But after the first poke and sipping the soup I knew this was a gem. I got the crab and pork dumplings and the original pork ones both very good. I also got the fried dough sticks and scallion pancakes and the soy bean milk freshly made. There will definitely be a revisit to this place to try the other dumplings. For those not looking to fight the city hassle come here. The price and quality and pure yummmm factor I give 5 stars.

Authentic Beijing cuisine that’s hard to find in the Boston area. Soup dumpling with crab and pork is heavenly. So as other steam dumplings and noodle soup. Also serve Beijing breakfast on weekends. Will definitely become a regular!

Friendly service, clean dining, limited menu. Food is home cooking and not the typical Chinese take out. My family and I had ordered their wonton soup, spring rolls, rice with chicken and mushroom, rice with ribs. Our only complaint is the meat dishes are salty. On tops of it all, each rice dish has lots of the flavoring sauce which makes the meal loaded with msg. I try to eat more of the white rice and less meat to even out the salty taste. We are giving 2 stars because the appetizers taste ok. Nothing that wow my family but tastes average as we have tasted better Beijing cooking.

4 stars for uniqueness in Milford and for price/value. Had the pork dumplings w/Napa cabbage — $ 5.95 for 10, and also tried 3 rice plates — Bejing style red braised pork with rice, Chicken w/mushroom with rice(both were $ 7.50) and then the steamed sweet sticky rice with fruit and nuts($ 5.45). The chicken and pork rice dishes tasted like it had the same sauce, just different meats(pork was fatty pork). The sticky rice was really interesting and different. Dumplings — I appreciated the homemade skin. I am interested in trying this place again, but would try other dishes next time(the flavors I had were a bit mild for me personally). Owner is very friendly. Chef previously worked in NYC. Street parking only.
