I hadn’t been here in a few years, but this evening, the watercolor workshop I’ve been taking all week met here. It kinda made me wonder why I’d stayed away for so long — the property is really beautiful and has a variety of things to do. There’s a nature center with a bunch of displays of both live and dead animals(taxidermy), and it’s air conditioned with a small meeting space. And indoor plumbing. Outside, there’s the old mill, which they run once in a while but not regularly. There are trails that cover a variety of terrain, including a nice sturdy boardwalk that the Boy Scouts built and maintain. We spent most of our time at a circle of benches built out of logs, not far from the nature center. I know they have at least one festival per year, and I think the guy who oversees the place also does guided nature walks, or at least he did a few years ago when I went there more regularly.
