Scottwood Bed & Breakfast

What a wonderful experience! Tim and Annette are truly gracious hosts. The room was awesome and the breakfast was delicious. I can’t say enough about this place. If we’re ever back in the area again we will definitely have Scottwood on the list!

Well, I was excited after looking at the website to stay at this lovely home. Unfortunately, I sent an e-​mail request, waited a couple days and heard nothing. Then, my husband called and left a message, heard nothing. I emailed again and heard nothing… how can you stay open if no one is able to book accommodations? Very confused and disappointed. We will take our money and stay in Paris, KY instead.

I was fortunate to stay at this B&B with my family. I wish that it woukd be possible to give the hosts Annette and Tim a 10 star rating. The beauty, elegance and comfort of their 18^th century home was only surpassed by their gracious hosting. If you have ever wondered what it is like to live in a colonial home, this is a perfect place to come to.

I had one bad experience dealing with the proprietress of this bed-​and-​breakfast — I didn’t actually stay at the inn, so I can’t review the actual services/​accommodations. However, I spoke with her in July 2013 concerning my tiny wedding that I was hoping to have at a scenic Kentucky establishment close to my parents’ house (and by tiny, I mean 10 people total).
The innkeeper was friendly enough on the phone, said they could accommodate my wedding plans that I explained in detail to her, and suggested that I email her and set up an appointment to come look at the premises — when they returned a week from 4^th of July (they would be away on vacation). During the time frame she instructed, I left her three voice messages + an email and NEVER heard a response back from her.
Poor, poor customer service and NOT hospitable at all. If she didn’t wish to undertake a wedding ceremony — small or not — then she simply needed to state so on the phone and not waste my time and cause me undue stress.
However, I will be celebrating my wedding at another GORGEOUS bed-​and-​breakfast inn in The Bluegrass State this coming Saturday, and that proprietress has been a DREAM to work with: classy, organized, providing lists of approved wedding vendors, responsive, etc.
I will be updating with a review of that B&B — after the honeymoon :)

Tim and Annette are excellent hosts… I stayed upstairs in the Shaker suite… so nice. I was on visit with my family. I toured the historical and bourbon distilleries nearby while my family attended boring horse events. Tim is a great conversationalist and Annette makes a mean breakfast with her warm personality. Very pretty location along a creek. Highly recommended… I will stay here again.
