White Castle

Food is typical fast food, edible but nothing to write home about. Drive through is always terribly slow. Their shakes are delicious and the drink sizes are really big compared to other fast food chains.
The biggest killer for me at this location is definitely how slow the drive through line is.

Not the cleanest place on either side of the counter. Employees snapping on each other, Kind of disorganized. When you pay for an online order and they give a time to pick it up, it should be ready when you get there, not just about to be cooked.

I have been away from the Chicagoland area way too long so my first stop after arriving in on the late night flight was this White Castle (I should have gone to the one near Midway airport but the service is typically snail slow there).
I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and a regular French fry via the drive-​thru. I pull up to the window, I was greeted by a friendly cashier, I paid for my food and then I was waiting… and waiting… and waiting. He came back to the window & asked me to pull forward (for 2 cheeseburgers and a fry?) & offered me a free drink (which I declined). I pull forward, he eventually walks up to my car and offers this apology: «I’m so sorry about that but someone gave a fake twenty dollar bill so everyone is going crazy in there BUT I gave you a larger fry instead of the small». I don’t need more fries and I’m certain that my waste doesn’t appreciate extra fries either; all I care about is freshand tasty food! Of course I didn’t say this to him but I was thinking it as I smiled and said «Oh, no it’s okay thanks so much!»
Although, I was waiting, I wasn’t annoyed until I pulled off, opened the bag to bite one of my cheeseburgers that was old & cold! The fries were fresh but my burgers were a disappointment. What a waste of my time & money! I ended up throwing most of it out.

Fast service by a friendly staff that will apologize if the weight was too lo but it’s not bad.

Service is usually pretty quick. I come here on lunch a lot, and I love that I can get my food and keep it moving!
Their coffee is usually pretty fresh, big in my book.

It takes a lot to get me to want to eat White Castle in the first place but this location has a special place in my heart. Every time it’s like I step back in time and expect to see one of my friends puking in the parking lot from one too many. The point is, that this is *WHAT YOU CRAVE* in the middle of the night after partying too much. The service is great and hey now WC accepts online food orders so that in your drunkness you can send your most sober friend to pick up exactly what you want. Oh if only life were this easy when I was a teenager!

The burgers are still great. I could eat a cave case full. The fries are pretty good and the onion rings are over the top. But the service was very slow. Even though there was one other person in the joint. The soda machine had 2 of the choices empty and the root beer kept shooting out air? The place was dirty and I would imagine if the employees didn’t care, why should I?
