I live in North Carolina, visit Texas on a regular basis an love a good Barbecue! When I’m in Richmond VA, I cannot leave without taking some brisket home for future enjoyment. You can’t go wrong with this selection if you love a brisket that’s tender, succulent flavored. You owe it to yourself to try Q’s brisket!

We have been to another location of Q’s and decided to pop in to get dinner a couple of weeks ago. All I can tell you is that with a couple of hours, I became violently ill and spent the next 24 hours in bed(in between running to the bathroom) with what would appear to be food poisoning. This was the only thing I had eaten that evening. I suspect it might have been the hot pineapple side dish, but I can’t be sure. The owner and/or manager needs to pay more attention to safe food handling practices. Let the buyer beware if you go into this location.

No military discount and the founder served in the Marines. Sides are extremely small, come on, it’s not as if a few ounces more will affect the bottom line(I watch Restaurant Impossible and learned how dishes are priced). Can you put one of the TV’s on a regular channel for those of us that aren’t jocks? My kid had one of the dessert chocolate cakes and it was a ripoff! She didn’t like it and I tasted it, it’s was a dry generic cake with pudding!

Q Barbeque has found the perfect balance between franchise restaurant comfort and great barbeque. The food has always been solid, reliable and tasty. The service is good and friendly. when we moved here two years ago this was where we went for that first meal. Got take out and sat among the boxes trying the different sauces on different meats. Is the absolute BEST barbeque? Maybe not, although that really depends on what your standards are. Is it extremely good? Yep.

I’ve gone to Q for years for the barbecue, which is very good. But their new fried chicken is THESTUFF. Wow! Perfectly fried and seasoned and they make it to order. I only wish they had mashed potatoes. Great, great stuff.

Had the brisket sandwich… brisket was moist with lots of smokey flavor… slaw on sandwich was pretty good as well… took a bite of my wife’s pork sandwich… meat was moist but a little light on flavor… mac n cheese was alright and fries were pretty standard… good place and will stop by next time I’m in richmond.

My son never mentioned being a fan of BBQ until he started going here. When I ask him now where he wants to go when in the area of Q barbeque he always picks here. It is very clean, fast service, excellent food!

Update! Since my last review I am happy, happy, so very happy to say that we now have a Q BBQ close to us! We go there often! Best barbecue around and the sides and portions… And the price is nothing short of Hog Heaven!

Amazing BBQ for a QSR. Not many places can pull this off. Ribs are awesome followed by Q Wings, chicken, pork, and finally brisket. Brisket is chopped only, over sauced and tastes like roast. Even still is pretty darn good. Best restaurant BBQ. Head and shoulders above Famous Daves, Dickeys, and Lucilles. They are all semi-pro

It’s barbecue-flavored barbecue. The service is about what one expects given the style of restaurant– pleasant but not exciting, and the food is much the same. There is nothing wrong with anything, it’s all perfectly acceptable [reliably so], but I feel like Richmond and the surrounding area requires that one step things up a notch, and it doesn’t, quite.

I am full and satisfied with the meal that I had here. My husband is a big guy and he ordered the ½ rack of ribs and didn’t even finish all his food. The corn bread is delish as well.

I visited this restaurant today in search of some good barbecue. I spent $ 25 for the half rack of ribs meal and pulled pork sandwich meal(meal includes two sides). The ribs were decent but not the fall of the bone kind I was hoping they’d be. The portions of the sides are really small and not fulfilling. This place is ok at best. I will stick to my normal place, Mission BBQ on glenside for quality and delicious BBQ.

For what it is, it’s pretty darn good. I got a 2 meat plate with one side(because really, it’s about the BBQ, not the sides). I got brisket and pulled pork and greens as my side. It was served with a cornbread muffin and I got unsweetened tea to drink. The pulled pork didn’t blow my dress up. It was a tiny bit dry, but it wasn’t as warm as the brisket so I’m guessing I got a serving from an older batch. I added some of their ‘hot’ sauce to help it, and inhaled it. So definitely still pretty good. As a side note, I could use a little more heat in the hot sauce. The brisket, which YES, is chopped/pulled not sliced, was pretty phenomenal. I ate it as it was. Perfect amount of smoke flavor, not overly dry for the most part, good flavor of actual meat. Neither meat was overly smokey, or smoked to the point of being dry. Neither was overly fatty or greasy, either, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. The greens were delightful. Cooked enough but not flaccid(ugh). Lots of good flavor, not too much liquid. The cornbread tasted like real cornbread, not boxed mix. The tea was also delicious. Real brewed tea, not that bug juice powdered nonsense. Ultimately, I’ll be back. Probably at a busier time than 4pm, when they move through product faster and I can get fresher stuff.

We have been to this restaurant several times before. We even had bought a large pan of the brisket for a catered party we had. To be honest we were very disappointed with the brisket. It was dry and did not taste like smoked brisket but more like it was made In a crock pot. The restaurant gets good reviews and the competition bbq team seems to do very well but im not conviced. It seems that the focus is in the bbq competition and not in this restaurant. I have had the ribs and still not impressed. I keep trying the bbq in hopes that I had a bad batch the time before. I really do love the smoked chicken wings and chunky blue cheese. Today my son and I visited for lunch. We ordered a chicken, brisket and pork bbq sandwich. We were informed by the staff that the chicken sandwich was made with thigh meat(love dark meat). We also asked for the brisket sliced and found that we could only have it chopped. The chicken sandwich was decent, the sweet sauce was too sweet for me. We opened the brisket sandwich and tried the brisket to see if the flavor could stand alone. Surprising, I had two pieces of the bark. For the first time eating here the brisket was very good. I enjoyed the sandwich. The Cole slaw was good also. The pork was«meh». I don’t care for the potato rolls as sandwich bread. I know they last foreever but the taste of the bbq gets drowned out and tastes mushy. The food here was edible but nothing to write home about. The staff isnt very friendly and seems like they are always ready to go home. If your in the Midlothian area I highly recommend the chicken wings but go somewhere else for BBQ. I am willing to try the bbq again if they decide to change it up a bit.

Gotta give them 5 stars, simply because they had the best pulled chicken I’ve ever had. Unlike most BBQ joints whose pulled chicken suffers from a certain dryness, especially compared to pulled pork, Q is the first BBQ I’ve ever tasted where the slow cooked pulled chicken was actually juicer than their pork. Aside from that, every other element of the meal was BBQ perfection. The sauces were delicious. The sides were some of the best sides I’ve had anywhere. I’m not even a fan of collared greens and I came back for more and more at Q. The beans, slaw, and mac and cheese were all equally delicious. Apparently my love isn’t alone, as I’m told the pitmasters at Q are TV celebrities and have the wall of awards to back it up. If they keep cooking BBQ like this, I believe it.

Arguably one of the best BBQ joints in town. Fast, friendly service at a decent price. Reasonably portioned sides and plenty of meats to savor, not just your typical ribs and pork. Their sauces are excellent, too; my favorite being a tie between the sweet and the hot zing. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area.

If you want BBQ in midlothian go to Qs! They barbecue is quite delish. My family and I got BBQ to-go one Sunday night. It was fast, reasonable and tasted great! A pound comes in a very small container but it’s a lot more food than you think. The BBQ also comes with a little bit of sauce already on it, which I like. The hot BBQ sauce was my families favorite, not too spicy, but just spicy enough. The plain BBQ sauce was way too sweet for my taste. Sides: We only ordered coleslaw as well which tasted like normal coleslaw. The rest of the sides seemed pretty expensive for what you get, we just heated up our own baked beans to save some money. I was surprised at the limited amount of sides though. I like when restaurants have cool options, but over Q was pretty standard. I think I’ll stick to just getting Q BBQ for a to-go easy meal instead of dining in. They have a few different bottled beers but nothing too exciting.

Q Barbeque is tops in my book… the restaurant is decked out in trophies from all the competitions they’ve won around the country. My favorite is the chicken barbeque, with sides of hush puppies and macaroni and cheese. The employees are always police and the food has always been cooked to perfection for me.
