Contacted the restaurant for a private party. Spoke with an arrogant male who isn’t aware he simply pays employees to toss dough into pizzas. Acted as if I wanted to rent out the White House for a night. Wanted $ 60 per person not including alcohol. Yes, I have eaten here. Food was on par with the manager’s attitude towards me. Will not return

I came to this pricey suburban soccer mom hotspot with my Mom and sister for dinner. Despite being just one of two parties in the restaurant, we were seated by a teenage hostess in the back corner and promptly ignored by the waitress for 15 minutes before leaving without even being served water — all while she served and bantered with the other group. Guess we didn’t fit whatever profile this place wants their clientele to fit. For real Italian you are better off going into the city to a place like Mamma Zu’s. I never got to try the food but judging by the pictures here, it looks about as good as Olive Garden.

Such an awesome neighborhood spot. We grab pizza here all the time, it’s always delicious, grab some bread dipping sauce for the crust! The baby arugula salad is also one of my faves, the dressing is amazing! Lucky to have a place like this so close. Don’t forget about half price pizza night!

Had the pizza, very bland, we added graded cheese and garlic, the dough was like chewing on cardboard

Every dish is solid. Quality food and strong service. Been there many times and never disappointed. Fair pricing with good size portions.

I really want to like this place. But every time I go I’m disappointed in the food. Whether the pizza or other menu items I just never find something I would order again. I would probably give it 2 stars for food but the rating is better because of the great location, a nice little bar, and a great atmosphere. Nothing wrong with the staff either — I just wish the food was better.

This is a great location in the middle of all these luxurious neighborhoods, which is beautiful outside and very cozy on the inside. A lovely place to eat. I had trouble with the menu, due to how it looked and was put together, along with the food descriptions. The tapas menu just seamed like bland selections. Nothing really grabbed me, from the menu. It made me feel like they were going to slop your dinner together and serve it. Thus, I get the impression they do not take pride in making their dinners for their customers. The salads was good. The calamari was the worst I have ever had. The pizza was only so so. The official bartender did not know how to make drinks. I should have ordered pasta and wine, but pasta dishes were crammed at the top of the menu. I want this restaurant to survive. I hate to bash a family run business, but they need to fix the menu and its descriptions. Everyone please go and order a salad and pasta or maybe veal, then post your review. I will go again, in the future, one last time. Oh, and get rid of that tacky«VT» sign. It does not go with the ambiance of this restaurant.

Went to Richmond VA for a conference for work. We came here with a group of 15, and we had reservation. We knew that it would get crowded if we didn’t make one. We ordered appetizers. The olives were delicious. The meat samples were awesome. The calamari was a delight. Everything was good. We then ordered our main dishes. I ordered a grilled Chicken Mediterranean Salad. The chicken was tender, crispy, and perfectly marinated the Greek dressing. It wasn’t overly dressed up with salad dressing but perfectly covered in it. Loved it. The pizza was good too. Very good toppings, fresh toppings, good pizza overall. Didn’t have any plans with it. It’s expensive but the quality of the pizza was well worth the chain pizza places. You can actually see the fresh ingredients and taste them too. Rating: Food: 4 Price: 4(For the quality and quantity, they were well worth it) Ambience: 5 Service: 5 Overall: 5 Great place. Coming back here if I’m in VA again.

Tried it again 23 minutes to get a glass of water. That was the final trip. Lucky to get one star.

Couldn’t be more disappointed with this place. Had heard such rave reviews, but everything we ate was subpar. I ordered the balsamic chicken with red peppers that came with potatoes and green beans. Everything was clearly reheated. The potatoes tasted like microwaved french fries. The chicken might as well have been sitting in a Ukrops hot bar. A glass of house wine ran me $ 9. The total bill was $ 70 including tip for the two of us. I won’t be coming back and will be sure to let my friends know this place has gone downhill. If you can’t serve made to order food, don’t offer it.

This was our first time here. Highly recommend! I got a grilled Chicken Mediterranean Salad. Omg the chicken was so tender and perfectly marinated the Greek dressing was the best I have ever had. Forgot to mention the appetizer, Albondigas, which are meatballs in tomatoes and light garlic sauce, delicious. My husband had the dinner entrée Polo Al Marsala, wow seasoned to perfection and so tender you could cut with a fork omg! I def would go back to this restaurant and recommend!

Went here after a basketball game at James River High on Friday night because of location. First time here and it is really a nice atmosphere however service and food were subpar at best. Will not be back.

Great pizza. Half off pizzas on Tuesdays, which is a good deal. Much better than any other major chain place like Papa Johns or whatever. However they don’t deliver. Choices are somewhat slim. If you stray away from pizza, then you’re taking a risk. Had maybe the worst overcooked chicken kabob ever. The salad dressings are sooooo thick… not in a good way. For me, this place is for pizza.

We used a coupon that came out in the Robious Corredor, two large pizzas for $ 22, they were very large and we thought it was a good deal. Pizza was excellent, staff was excellent, local beer selection was excellent. We will definitely return.

Mediocre food that is overpriced. Service is slow and we will not be back. Candela’s is much better Italian food in a more welcoming atmosphere …

I need to recover some reviewer karma so I want to jump on the chance to say something nice. I don’t like being negative, really, I hate it! So thank you Mediterraneo for making it easy! Another happen-stance discovery this time in Midlothian. First and foremost, dog friendly on the patio! Actually, I am finding VA to be very canine compassionate in general, didn’t realize we were so uptight about it up north. Any-who, yes, the food… As soon as you walk in you see Sicily’s crest… bold, very bold… so right away they set an expectation. The menu is southern Italian and just the right amount of choices including some interesting looking tapas and a Cioppino. However, it was a hot Sunday afternoon so a big Mediterranean salad was the choice; field greens, roasted red peppers, feta, red onion, kalamatas, grilled chicken and a nice rich balsamic… perfetto for the occasion. So simple… yet so many screw it up… Mediteranneo did not. Top off the fact that there was futball on one tele and Mario Andretti in racing on the other, it was a scene. Many of you know we are moving down here so we were out scouting the envrions for outdoor activity and eateries. This was a great find. And as we are creatures of habit when it comes to food, we will back, and back again I am sure… Really want that Cioppino! Ciao

Tip: ask for pizza dough to go when making homemade pizza. Better than you can probably do, less effort, and they’re v accommodating … ESP if have glass or two at the bar while waiting.

Lunch menu options are good. Enjoyed the portobello sandwich — actually a whole mushroom and not slices like other restaurants. Pizza quality is very good. Service was a bit slow otherwise I might have given a 4 star. Plan to try dinner menu soon.

Good little place to stop into for a bite to eat. We had stopped in at the wine store(Vino, see review) next door, and were hungry. Happy find. Husband ordered a panini, i had a beef carpaccio. tap list is very limited, but they have other choices in bottles. we didn’t peruse the wine choices closely, but they had several bottles on display, all ROTM, middle of the road choices. Nothing fancy, but no Sutter Home or Gallo to be seen, so that’s a good sign. Food was good, portions apropriate, attentive servers. Food was a little slow to come considering how few people were in the restaurant, though– counting us, 3 tables total. Note for those who are true lovers of carpaccio– theirs is cooked and served cold, but Medium Rare. I took a star away for that. All in all, a solid place for a casual but tasty bite, but not for those who are in a rush.

Well, I certainly must say that I felt the same as some of the other reviewers, however, I have come to love this restaurant. I think the owner did not like the way things were going and he took over cooking. He gets there early just about every day and leaves at the end of the night. I am not sure how he is alive. I have had many items on the menu and I have enjoyed them all. I always get the house salad; it has a tiny bit of fruit, red peppers, red onions and a few other things. I could get this salad everyday of my life. The homemade house dressing is to die for. You can also ask for any protein that you want to add. The waiters and waitresses are some of the hardest working kids I have known. As you can clearly see, I like it here. It’s one of the only places, I feel comfortable eating alone. Tuesday night is half price pizza night and it’s worth it. Finally, they also deliver, if it’s ugly outside you should have them bring it.
