Design One Hair Salon & Day Spa

Awesome staff. Incredibly nice and attentive staff. Beautiful studio. I was with a friend getting her hair done and decided to get my ends trimmed and a little layered (having a hair cut phobia since I’ve been growing it long) and Chelsea was very understanding to what I wanted and did a wonderful job.

Had a massage, brazilian, and facial from Rachel. It was my first brazilian and she made me feel so comfortable. She educated me about follow up care. The massage was perfect she listened to what areas i wanted her to focus on and was great at taking feedback. And the facial. Omgee. My skin has not looked this great since high school. Again she educated me about products and follow up. I left making a follow up in 6 weeks and 12 weeks. I was floored.

I went to Design One with a Living Social voucher for a Brazilian blowout. I booked an appointment for the blowout and also a haircut, with no preference as to stylist since it was my first time there. I was given an appointment with Nikki… and I am the happiest I have EVER been with my hair. In fact, I made a Unilocal account just to review this place.
Nikki was friendly, helpful, and remained attentive throughout my appointment (2+ hours for the keratin/​blowout thing). I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my hair, it is long and unruly so I was more interested in the blowout to reduce frizz. She asked me questions and helped me determine what kind of cut would make me happiest.
That’s something I can appreciate– she didn’t just drop a couple of disinterested suggestions or get pushy– she asked me questions and helped ME figure out what I wanted!
Nikki looked young, but I was more than impressed with her knowledge. I tend to ask a lot of (random) questions; she explained the differences between various keratin treatments, the important things to look for in a shampoo, and so on. After my appointment both Nikki and the front desk followed up to make sure I was happy with the experience. I actually wish I had something negative to say, because I don’t believe overly gushy reviews. But I love my cut and the treatment has really helped with frizz, the salon itself has amazing customer service. I’ve finally found a salon AND stylist worth sticking with.

I am CONVERTED! Before this experience, I had always gone to Great Clips to get my hair cut and I always colored my hair myself. However, I found a Livingsocial deal online that was super cheap for full highlights. I was a bit hesitant when I first called to set an appointment because I talked to two different people, two different times and they were both giving me different information. However, when I arrived, I could not have had a better experience! I had asked if my sister and I could both get our hair done at the same and they had no problem with it at all. My sister was running very late and I was afraid that they would cancel our appointment but they were so accommodating and sweet about it! They allowed us to still get our hair done together even with her being so late.
The girl that did my hair was named Jessica and she was so sweet. I told her that I had dyed my hair black about a month ago and wanted to subtly sneak some highlights in to counteract my roots. She knew exactly what I wanted and did such a wonderful job on my hair! I Have received so many compliments on it!
They also have wonderful massage chairs for when you get your hair washed. My sister said that when she came over I looked like I was in a state of bliss because of how nice those chairs made me feel!
I would definitely go there again and would even pay full price for their services because I had such a good experience!

i am not sure where to begin! The salon is beautiful! i am not sure what else positive i can say, except for the staff is friendly. The spa side of this business could use a lot of improvement! I have been several times and each time the atmosphere has been, well not relaxing at all. Trying to get a massage, when people are putting away products (the noise was not relaxing at all) … I could go on, but I am not trying to hurt peoples feelings, just to try to help them improve. thanks
