Large humidor with great selection, bottled beers from around the world and some Texas craft choices on tap. The staff is friendly, the prices are good for Midland. The interior looks like an episode of Miami Vice (not that its a bad thing,) and the patio is easily one of the coolest places to hang out in the area.

Cigar Frogs is one of those places you expect to find in a more refined and sophisticated urban setting, not Midland, Texas. It is located in an older building on Main Street in downtown Midland and the cigar bar theme works perfectly in this setting. They have a large walk-​in humidor in which you can browse around and find the perfect cigar to fit your mood. When they first opened they had cigar aficionados that would assist you in finding the right cigar. However, in the past few years though that has went away and you are pretty much on your own to find the cigar you like (which for some that aren’t regular cigar smokers can present a challenge). They have a good selection of beers in bottle and a couple more on tap, as well as a small, but good wine selection just in case you’d rather booze on fermented grapes instead of barley and hops. They do not serve hard liquor or mixed drinks here but I believe that is more about keeping a certain environment more than anything else (although at times I’ve found myself wishing that I had a glass of scotch instead of a bottle beer). Inside the bar on the weekends they regularly have live music playing in the evenings with a more acoustic and contemporary flair which goes well with the ambiance the place is going for, but it can get a little loud for conversation at times. When that happens, you must venture through the back of the bar and out onto what I feel is the best patio in Midland to enjoy a drink and a smoke. The patio area is covered, which is an absolute must during the hot summer months in Midland. There are several tables that include a built in fire pit, so that you can stay warm on the cool nights between late October and early April. The only drawback to the patio is that during their slower hours they may not have anyone waiting tables on the patio, so this usually requires a trip inside to the bar to get another round of drinks, but that comes with the territory in Midland, Texas. Overall, I really like this place. It’s a much more relaxed environment than a typical Midland bar or club but it’s not missing in the excitement of a night out with friends. Another big plus is that for a cigar bar, it’s really friendly to the non-​smoker. That’s saying a lot considering a visit to any other bar in Midland is the equivalent of smoking half a pack of cigarettes just from the lingering smoke.
In conclusion, If Cigar Frog’s was located in a place like Austin, Dallas, or Houston, I’d probably give this place overall a three. There are small issues with service and knowledge of product (after all, this is a cigar bar first and a bar second) that keeps this place from reaching that upper echelon of some of the best cigar bars I’ve experienced in my travels. By Midland standards however, this place is one of the best and it is a Midland five. I’ll split the difference and call it a four.

So my first take on this place is that the patrons are pleasant they greeted as soon as I walked in. The bartender on the other hand was not present at the bar when I arrived, needless to say she is more interested in chatting with the patrons at that bar. Not the service on would expect at a cigar bar.
So let me walk up to the bar and see how that works out. More to come.
Ok walked up to the bar. BT greeted and served me. She was kind and attentive. The cigars are serve yourself. I picked out a Padron 1964 to complement the Taylor Flatgate 10 yr. Price $ 38.00. So far so good.

Good looking place. Very unsophisticated humidor though. Moldy cigars that aren’t smokeable. Though they have good brands, beware that mold. Have them open you a fresh box.

This place has always been great, but the new manager makes it even better. Katelyn (the new manager) is awesome. She always has a smile on her face and is VERY knowledgeable about cigars, wines, and beer. She’s hot too, so that’s a plus. The waitstaff is very accommodating and quick and makes an effort to learn your name and what you like to drink. I’m a stay at home mom and this is my favorite place to go because the staff knows me and I don’t get hit on by 50 oilfield men (like in every other bar in Midland). Nice place to have relaxing drink, good conversation and nice live music on weekends. Whether it’s a date night, a business «meeting», guys night out (they have a private poker room), or ladies night out, you can’t go wrong with Cigar Frogs. Best place to have a drink in Midland by far.

New manager — not a people person from first impression. Had an out of town guest that asked a question, manager had a smart aleck response.
Maybe it will improve with time. In addition, is it BYOB now? Huge dispenser of Crown Royal on bar.

Quick drive from the airport. Landed here late one night. Great selection of beers, wines, and cigars. Staff is attentive and pleasant.

Good cigar selection (reasonable prices for a lounge). Great indoor air /​filtration. Great variety of craft beers. Great covered outdoor lounge area with fire pits (I assume pretty warm in summer but lots of fans & misters). Great vibe. Good music. And plenty of grouped seating.

I enjoy the atmosphere and there was good acoustic music.

I have been numerous times — best visit last night! The «manager» on duty (young man) was great! Very knowledgable in suggesting beers and cigars. Very attentive service and the fire pits were blazing… great!

This place was pretty fun. We went on a Thursday evening right after work. My mom and stepdad were in town visiting and he smokes cigars. So this place seemed like a good fit. It was. He loved it. We had a great time sitting around having a few drinks and enjoying the atmosphere and company. The staff was very helpful and quick to respond if you needed anything. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good cigar and company.

Let me preface my lower rating by saying, I would come here again. BUT:
1. Cover charge? Really? It was explained to me it was for the live music. Odd, the ‘other’ Cigar place in town doesn’t charge cover, and they have live music.
2. Cigar prices. I saw $ 20 prices for Padron ‘64s. Those are $ 12 – 14 cigars at best.
3. First time in my life I have ever seen anyone use a measuring cup to measure out a glass of wine. If you’re going to do that at least rinse it out so my wine doesn’t mix in with whatever the last bottle was.
4. Last gripe. Matches. I have NEVER seen a place that charged for matches. I mean, this is your bread and butter! I didn’t ask as I had my own, maybe they have cheapy/​freebies but really, I have books and books and books of FREE matches from cigar places from all over the U.S. Not once was I ever charged for them.
Owners seem real sweet and nice, no gripe with them. Service could kick it up. I shouldn’t have to go to the bar to get my own drink. What would be the point of tipping after that? Very nice atmosphere, like I said, I’d go again but com’on. Some of the basics for me kinda erk me. Very good cigar selection.

WOW! I rarely give out 5 stars but I was really blown away last night at Cigar Frogs. I’m not from Midland and only go there on business. What a great surprise (thanks to Unilocal) when I found this great spot in downtown Midland.
I arrived around 7 o’clock on a Monday night and it was initially just me, the owner (Joe) and his wife. I was greeted with a warm welcome and saddled up to the bar. What a pleasant surprise to find such a diverse beer selection at a cigar bar and more so, at a bar in MIDLAND.
I ordered a beer and then selected my cigar. Joe let me borrow his cutter and lighter. He sat down next to me at the bar, lit up a cigar of his own and we BS’d for a little bit. People started rolling in around 7:30 or 8 and it remained a nice combination of lively and mellow.
After Joe tended to the other patrons he’d stop by my bar stool and we’d chat a little more.
This place is a truly a gem for Midland and I’ll come back on all my future visits.

This is a GREAT addition to Downtown Midland! I hope they stay in business a long time. Whoever is buying one of those condo units next door is lucky LOL
Now just turn some of the abandoned buildings into residential and street level retail and DT Midland will be set… someday

Cigar Frog’s is a great place to spend an evening. The staff and owners are attentive and polite, not to mention speedy. The food is exceptional and the patio are is gorgeous. Prices on beers are good and any place that has Guinness on tap is great in my book. They even have a member’s area that looked like it would be perfect for a stag-​style function or after-​hours business meeting. The live music was also great the night I went.
I can highly recommend checking this place out, it brings a normally big-​city style establishment right here to our area. Do yourself a favor and take the guys or gals out for a night, you won’t regret it.
