They state free estimates but in the middle of the job they call and charge extra to change bits to complete the job. What are you supposed to do stop in the middle of an unfinished job? $ 775.00 to open a 4″ trap, less than 2 hours. VERYEXPENSIVE… Chambersburg PA

I had a broken line and called roto rooter. The tech determined that approximately 30 feet needed to be replaced. He gave me an estimate that seemed pretty high, but he said it was that much because it was a full day job and would require 2 guys. I accepted it because I figured the cost would be similar for other companies, and I’d have to pay that guy for the call anyway. Turns out the job was done in under two hours, so even considering materials, they received an astronomical amount for the labor. The next day we discovered the new pipe was leaking. When i called them they said they could send a guy out on Monday or we could just check and make sure the fittings were tight and tighten them. They were pretty unapologetic until I pointed out multiple times that I paid a fortune for that job and it should have been done right. I got a half hearted apology, but it was clear the guy didnt think this was a big deal. At their rate for the job, we should have been paid about $ 200 for finishing the job for them. I haven’t had good experiences with any of the major companies in the area I’ve called for plumbing and electrical, so I’m at a loss as to who to call the next time I have a problem.

Had a technician come out to my house to look at a clogged shower drain that I could not solve myself with draino or the like. Scheduling was a breeze and the technician made it out within the time window that I was given. The technician found a major clog in the drain pipe and began to snake the drain. He pulled out massive amounts of hair and got the drain working back to normal again. I am very pleased with his professionalism and cleanliness. The technician also worked very quickly to fix the problem and was in and out within an hour.

Very unimpressed with Roto rooter. They give you blocks of time and then don’t show up. They have been to our home 4 times now and they do a half-assed job. Visit # 1 they used a camera to look in drains from outside vent to figure out where sewer odor inside the house was coming from. Could get the camera to toward the house, gave up, convinced it was toilet seals Visit #2 came back, removed 1 toilet, replaced the seal. That wasn’t it. Never checked the second toilet. Suggested return with a CREW to do a smoke test to see where break in system is. Visit #3 wait around all day for 1 schmuck to show up and tell me what I already knew. Rescheduled because he said he needed a crew to do smoke test. Duh Visit #4 no show, rescheduled. Visit #51 guy shows up to do the smoke test without a crew and I am recruited to check the house while he pumps smoke in the roof vents. He can’t get smoke down one if the vents, says it’s clogged, packs up his stuff and leaves. I thought plumbers fix clogs? Calling someone else!
