4 years ago me and my wife and three kids went to outbacks. We are a latino family. As soon as we walk in, the white girl gave all of us a dirty look. She didn’t say hello, just very angry said follow me. She threw the utensils on the table and walk away. For another white family across us she placed the utensils down nicely and in order. Everytime she walked by she would give us dirty looks, When we left I still said ty, but she turn around and gave my family the back. A real racist piece of crap. My money is good to take, but my family being latinos we are not good enough to get good service or respect. Never I will go there again. Every latino and black person should boycott this racist restaurant.

I know that Outback is not an upscale restaurant and I don’t expect it to be one. But my husband and I were a bit disappointed for the most part. We arrived at about 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon when the place was nearly empty. In spite of this, it took about 10 minutes for us to be seated. Not a tragedy. The waitress brought us our menus and brought our drinks but then she appeared to get lost. We had to ask a passing server to have her take our order. She appeared several minutes later. Our bread and butter(very good bread!) came about five minutes later. Although the server was very pleasant, it was almost impossible to get her attention. I don’t know where she was hiding or what she was doing but she definitely had other things on her mind other than her customers. Enough complaining about the service. My husband ordered a $ 14.994-course meal. Now I don’t know what he expected for that price(he did have a spicy tortilla soup, a Caesar salad, a big loaded baked potato, a small steak — advertised as a 6-oz one but it appeared to be more like a 3 – 4 oz. one — and a chocolate drizzled cheesecake!) but he complained about the size of the steak. He admitted to me that he was full, that the cheesecake, the potato and the bread were exceptionally good so I don’t really understand his dissatisfaction! I ordered the chopped steak platter which came with a salad and a baked potato. The steak, cooked a perfect medium-rare, came on a bed of fried onions and mushrooms. The onions would have been much tastier if they were carmelized rather than half-raw but the steak itself was humongous! I surmised it was 10 – 12 oz. of delicious ground beef and the manager later confirmed that it was 12 oz. I gave my husband a piece to taste and I still had a good sized piece to take home. I was more than satisfied with my meal. Because of my husband’s complaint about the size of the steak. the manager, Rebecca, came to talk to us. She was very courteous and pleasant but we didn’t ask for any reduction of the bill because I didn’t feel we were entitled to one. All in all, it was not an unpleasant dining experience but I doubt that my husband will want to return anytime soon.

Outback has really good service it took about 10 minutes for me to receive my food. My steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Outback handles a large group well sometimes I go to Outback with 11 people, the handle it very well and the food takes a acceptable amount of time to come out and the food tastes great. Sometimes the seasoning upsets my stomach but that just may be me.

I usually wouldn’t even bother to write a review on an Outback– because it is pretty standard and you know what you are getting. This one, however, is another story. Very poor service. We sat in the bar area and the place was empty, yet it took 3 forevers for anyone to come over to us. All the servers and bartender were busy standing around chatting with each other. After we finally did get our food, it didn’t look fresh– our tuna tartare appetizer came out brown looking and on a bed of wilted cabbage– NOT appealing. I also wanted a beverage refill and my boyfriend wanted some steak sauce. The bartender was sitting down on her phone and had to have noticed us looking around for our server, but never bothered to come over and didn’t offer to get our server for us. Finally I gave up, paid the bill and left. Won’t be going to this location again!

We gave it another shot and needless to say, that will be the last time I will ever visit Outback! Poor service and extremely awful meal!!! The tiny little piece of steak they serve can’t even be cooked properly. And the side of shrimp that we ordered was a joke. Total waste of money. Never again.

I got what I always get. I liked it. The bread was awesome. I had two. Two breads. Then I had a bloomin’ onion, and I dipped it in the sauce. It was orangey-pink and playfully tangy. I washed it all down with two sweet Blue Moons. I noticed that they also had Shock Top on the menu, which was nice. My second BM did not have an orange in it. I stewed all the way home because of this, and had to go into the closet for ten minutes to practice my Hatred Abatement Breathing. My therapist says I should not go back, but I will.

Actually, the take out service is better than the in-restaurant service. In-restaurant has deteriorated over the years unfortunately. Take out however is usually what I expect it should be. The only issue is they continue to provide bread and plasticware even though I check no for them when ordering online which is a waste but more their problem than the patrons.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Had one of the worst meals of my life. I took my daughter here to celebrate her birthday, and I was appalled. 1) service was slow, and I had to ask other servers to get my waitress 2) prison food it’s better then the slop they fed us, my prime rib sandwich had 2″ piece of fat surrounded by what appeared to be the grizzle of discarded meat. The manager did offer to bring something else, but by then the meal was ruined, and we werent hungry. Dannys or Char, more expensive options, are a far better value then this horrific restaurant. Obviously run by an absentee owner.

Without a doubt the worst Outback we’ve eaten in. Although the food was striving to be mediocre, the service was excruciatingly slow. Two hours to secure lunch at 1:45 on a Saturday afternoon is ridiculous. Having to send other servers to find our server to 1. Order food, and 2. Get refills on drinks was more than an omen. Salads were good. Potato soup was okay. Focaccia filet sandwich was gross. The focaccia was greasy, the filet was cubed, rather than sliced, and what flavor there was wouldn’t lead me to ever order another one. In a chain restaurant, I don’t expect miracles. I also do expect, however, decent food and decent service. Epic fail, Outback of Middletown.

My husband and I visit the outback about once a month. We usually sit at the bar for dinner. Love the staff, feels like we are at our own version of Cheers. The food is good for the money, the drinks are perfect and the bartender(Katie) is simply put, wonderful. The host/hostess is always friendly and the management makes you feel right at home! We enjoy our Monday’s or Wednesday’s at the Outback.(Try the new appetizers… they are delish!)

Went here for a friends birthday with a large(okay, huge) group of people, about 20 or so. We arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday, and nobody called ahead to make a reservation. I immediately knew this was going to be an adventure. When we got there, a mob of people were standing outside with table-buzzers in hand, and restaurant staff were walking around giving occasional samples of bloomin’ onions and quesadilla slices to keep the masses placated. A nice touch, and the weather was decent, so hey. About 50 minutes goes by and we still don’t have a table. The hostess is profusely apologizing and couldn’t be any friendlier, and asks if we don’t mind being seated outside, since it would probably be quicker. Sure, no problem. Cue another 30 or so minutes of waiting, and we eventually get seated INDOORS(no complaints here, but a tad confusing to us). The servers come and are friendly, even offering to split the checks a bit for us. The food is on-par with every other Outback I’ve been to. That being: it’s a generic steakhouse that relies on a faux-aussie theme to cover up the fact that the food is pretty much average. Hey, it’s a family steakhouse chain, you really can’t expect Ruth Chris quality here. The portions were filling enough, although I’ve seen bigger at competing chains such as Longhorn /Texas Roadhouse, and the drinks were actually really well mixed — props up to the bartender. All in all, a solid«3÷5». I kind of wish they would have thrown in a free app or two for the ~1.5 hour wait, but that’s my groups own fault for not calling ahead, I suppose. I don’t make a habit of going to Outback if I can help it, but this one is as good as any, I suppose.

Outback has been a long time favorite of mine for decades now. Love the consistency from location to location. One of the best ceaser dressings around other than fresh made. I find myself there less and less because for me the major draw has always been the ONION walkabout soup. I think it’s become extinct. I used to find it occasionally but… Get rid of the potato and bring back the onion, maybe I’ll come back.

I have had amazing service and not so amazing service, seems to be hit or miss at this particular location. However, the food is always consist and delicious. I have been a bit disappointed with Outbacks filet’s though as of recent and have switched to a different item, they seem different. I love how fresh their salads are, random but really they are so fresh and crisp! lol. Good food.

Don’t get the seafood trio. They succeeded in finding the smallest scallops ever! 2 scallops 3 shrimp doesn’t add up when they stuff the mini scallop in the shrimp. The Mahi portion is small also.

This used to be my favorite of all the soulless chain restaurants. The portions seem to have gotten smaller all around, along with the actual size of their plates. I used to enjoy their salads more so than any other chain except maybe saladworks. They are now a fraction of their original size. Also, the ribeye was once a bit bigger and thicker but now resembles what you get at Chili’s, a ribeye in profile with the thickness of a pencil. Making the plates smaller is not fooling anyone. The quality has dropped quite abit in the past year or so, and I won’t be back for a while. If you kick up a fuss and complain because yer wings lacked kick or ya found a bit of gristle in your steak, one of the corporate drones will come out and comp yer meal. I see this happen alot and I commend the staff for dealing with difficult people. I don’t want to complain, I just want value for my money and I don’t really see it anymore at this chain location. Warning: Do not order the filet mignon for it is not what it appears to be. Every other cut of steak is fine but the Victoria Filet is consistently tough, even by NY strip standards(Our waitress pretty much said as much.) Perhaps they are getting meat from a purveyor that uses the meat glue method? See link below:

Three of us had an outstanding meal, and all was cooked perfectly, served in record time and tasted fantastic. We had steaks, ribs, chicken, yummy mashed potatos and finished it off with cheescake. Great portions(enough left to take home). As much as I despise chain restaurants, this one beats the neighborhood places most of the time. Service was fast, friendly, easy. They accepted my $ 8 coupon with a smile, and the entire meal was under $ 40, including drinks and dessert.

Now i am not a usual fan of chain resturants however we ended up at outback a few weeks ago and had the most pleasant experience. The stars are mostly for our waitress who provided us with the best service we have had in a long while. She was patient, helpful, personable and did not rush us one bit. The food came timely and it was all very good. For what you get the prices are reasonable. We each ordered a steak and lobster tail, we shared appetizers(coconut shrimp and the chicken strips) and both were good as well. It was a lot of food in general. We tried the margarita special with three mini margaritas as well, nothing spectacular(i mean it is a steak house — not a mexican cantina). The only complain i have was the steak seasoning was a bit salty for my taste.

Stopped in for a family dinner on a weekend, and boy was this place crowded. The wait was about half an hour(a blessing considering we were told 45 minutes), and they served some appetizers to those who actually chose to wait. Food was OK — exactly what you expect when going to a chain restaurant. I would recommend going at off-peak times to avoid long lines.
