I would not recommend this place to anyone! We had a pellet stove with an electric start installed in August, when we went to use it on the first chilly day in October, it wouldn’t start. We got a bit of a run around when trying to trouble shoot by phone, they tried to blame our electician. They finally sent out a technician a week later, who said it was a problem with the installers, there was a short in the fuse, which is a fairly common problem, no fault to our electrician. Today it wouldn’t start and the ash tray was filled with unused pellets. We called at 930 am and was told the person we needed to talk to was not going to be in until 1030am. No one has returned our call, and we provided both a home and cell phone number. The stove is brand new and we are having problems. My concern is with the complete lack of follow up regarding service calls. That is the other piece of customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and standing behind the products you sell. You have a product that people only need to buy once, so I guess you are not concerned with repeat business. You have our $ 5000, and we have a defective product. I read the other reviews and Holly’s response to the dissatisfied customer Tammy. We have a similar experience as her, so before you address this on line and accuse us of making erroneous claims you should have called back. Customer service 101. The Stevenson Family Of Chester NY

I had my Lopi Endeavor stove for 10 years and it’s still working as if it was new. The installers at Northstar we very knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. The stove was one of the best investments I ever made. I’m saving a fortune on my heating bill and the house is warm and toasty in the winter. I would highly recommend using Northstar as they put the customer first. If I ever needed another wood stove I would go straight to Northstar.

When I called Holly and I spoke quite in depth on my situation(stove set for years and had problems with Sigma Trembly when they were at the house to repair this stove). The Service Tech John was very pleasant right from start. He explained up front everything that he was going to do. He showed me ALL the wrong parts installed by Sigma Trembly and explained why they were wrong. He showed me part by part what he was replacing and why. At the end, not only was my pellet stove working PERFECTLY again, he gave me a itemized bill. He was extremely meticulous with everything he did as well as clean up afterwards. First of all, i would give it zero stars but it won’t allow me to. Bought a very beautiful, expensive gas stove in 2001. Had a problem with stove shortly after purchase. Took them 7 – 8 weeks to send a tech out. Holly wouldn’t return calls. Had another problem. Took over 6 weeks to get a tech to our house. Again, horrible customer service and holly is of no help. After we bought this stove we learned that this model had been recalled. They knew this but still sold it to us. They just want the sale and then your pretty much on your own. After all these years, problem after problem. We had to get other companies in to help us because we were getting nowhere with northstar. This stove has been a lemon ever since. We were very disgusted to think of how much money we spent trying to fix this stove over all these years. this stove was over four thousand dollars. Recently i called them to see if they would maybe be of help. no call back. next day i called and spoke to holly. She was pretty much uninterested. Next day i had my bf call and that was a waste of time. It just validated what northstar is all about. Stay far away from this business. Go somewhere else. I always inform people about how unprofessional this company is, believe me.

I am not sure why there seems to be two Northstar Energy’s… but I am going to post on both. Absolute great crew to work with. Another reviewer commented about the rudeness of «the husband». Our experience is completely opposite. He came to our home, spent well over an hour evaluating the layout of the home for the best heat flow. A few years later we were in the market for a hot tub and given the great experience we had with Northstar, we went back to them(and… the sell a great spa). I dont know… they’ve always been so helpful wonderful to work with — not to forget that their products are top of the line. The Lopi rocks for us.

I am currently in the process of buying and installing a pellet stove. I visited the store first then returned with my wife. We were both happy with the excellent customer service we received. I will update the review once the install is complete. 12÷27÷11. Today the pellet stove was installed by Steve and Joe. First off, these guys were pleasant professionals who took their time and did a top notch job. They were so meticulous, to the point that they painted the exhaust fittings black to match the unit. They spread drop cloths to protect the floor and when they left there was no cleaning up to do. I am sitting here enjoying my new pellet stove and Unilocaling. Definitely deserving of every star.
