Placed an order for a large plain pie, an order of pizza knots, and the tomato avocado salad with chicken. I get there and the pie is not made. I had to wait an extra 10 minutes for it. Get home and the salad has no chicken on it at all. They advise me I wasn’t charged for it but I can pay extra and come pick it up. Just absolutely horrible experience. Be aware to check your order thoroughly before leaving! And for any orders using your card over the phone, they WILL read your card number out loud for the whole restaurant to hear!

This might be the best pizza I have ever had. We got delivery and I can’t tell you much because it is all a euphoric blur. We got chicken a la vodka pizza and it made me want to slap my mama. Not really, it’s a figure of speech. We also got margarita pizza which was great, my man kept saying«it’s got all fresh ingredients» lol. We also got a salad, I want to say it was an antipasto salad and I think it was good and had lots of yummy things in it. But the a la vodka pizza man… that was the stuff of gods. The crust is for sure the best I have ever had. I would pay good money to have that pizza right meow, but if you live in the area(I, sadly, do not) you won’t have to! The delivery was insanely cheap! I think for two small pizzas(to my standards they would be mediums) and the salad, the total was like $ 35 or something! Less than $ 40 for sure. I cannot wait to be in this area again, mostly to see my baby, but a close secondly to have this pizza again!

First time here. Down the street from East Main so 2 miles took 10 minutes! I got a slice of Marguerita. As expected it was quite large. It was okay. Fresh, hot, etc but the flavor didn’t standout. Didn’t wow me. The crust was good tho. I’ve had better Marguerita pie. I also ordered a chicken cesear salad to go. It was a good size salad with chicken. Unfortunately it was doused with too much pecorino Romano cheese & dressing and made the salad VERY salty. Not too many croutons which I missed. The chicken portion was very generous. If I go back I will try the plain cheese slice next time. Place is very clean and the staff seems nice. I think the owner is Italian.

We decided to pop in on our way home from one of kiddo’s classes. Haven’t had pizza by the slice in a while and as everyone says, huge slices. Tried to keep my expectations in check but for a Wednesday evening they had a good amount of traffic through the doors. I got one of the chicken bacon ranch, yummy but salty, and Hubs got two cheese slices. They heat it up and bring it out to you if you’re dining in the shop. Three slices and a soda was about 12 bucks? Hubs was surprised at how cheap it came out to be. Good stuff in my book. Will want to try the other pizzas and wings people talk about. EDIT: Got some pizza to go another time after and it wasn’t as good as being fresh out the oven. By the time we got home it had cooled down a bit and didn’t have the same great taste as I remembered. I’d probably throw your slices in the toaster oven next time, guess I’m just not a cold pizza fan.

I moved away from Middletown and every time I come home I try to order from John’s. When they first opened I had a conversation with the owner. He said, «It’s fucked up, people find out about me from their neighbors garbage. They always ask where the hell they got a pizza in THAT box.» As hysterical as that is, everyone always talks about the size of the pie. To me the size means nothing, the quality does. Just finished up dinner with the family. Thank you for a kick ass dinner, being home tastes so good!

Great Pizza when you can order it. Customer service needs some work. Called to place an order and placed on hold. After 10 min no pickup. Called again with the same result. Ended up settling on another Pizzeria

Pretty good pizza but my extra star goes towards their chicken wings(BBQ) they made extra crispy for me and the polite service I recieved while there. Convenient location for me.

im not a fan while the huge slices are a great attraction for adults and kids alike, i don’t think their pizza is good. it’s overly saucy and lacks in flavor. not the worst ive had but not far behind. i haven’t tried any of their dishes other than the pizza but i would hope that a little more love and care goes into them.

Huge slices and great taste. If you haven’t tried the chicken alla vodka trust me, go do it after reading this. Delicious. The Margherita pizza is fantastic and their hot sandwiches are perfection. Don’t be scared to try their wings either, the BBQ is actually quite good. Best pizza place in mtown.

Ok, this place serves by far, the biggest slice of pizza I have ever seen. If you’re familiar with the area, pizza heaven in Vails Gate NY claims to be home of the huge slice. Alfonso’s pizzeria on 211 in Middletown also serves big slices, but neither of which compare to this. See attached picture. In the case, they look straight up deceiving. «I could eat two of these,» I murmured. Well, you can’t. You just can’t. And at $ 4 a slice, it’s the most filling yet cheapest lunch I’ve ever had. The pizza itself is also very tasty, of course. The eggplant slice I had was loaded with ricotta(a meal in itself) and some decent-sized chunks of eggplant that could’ve maybe been a bit bigger, or just more of them. The sauce tasted fresh, and the bottom of the slice gave a nice crunch when you bite into it. The crust was the weakest part of the slice because(I’m guessing) of its sheer physical height in the oven and resulting unpleasant charred-flavor. The consistency was great, though. Nice and chewy, easy to pull apart with your teeth. Overall, John’s is a wonderful break from the traditional, mundane by-the-slice pizzeria. Their slices eat like a meal, and I like that. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.
