I arrived at this hotel for a business trip. It’s one of the very few hotels in this small town. The hotel was pretty nice, except that I had a hard time opening my room door with the keycard. Apparently there’s a trick to it — I had to ask the front desk person. The room and bathroom were very nice and clean. Parking is free in their private parking lot. Wireless internet is also free throughout the building. My co-workers and I spent a lot of time in the lobby with our laptops, and we didn’t have any connectivity issues. Hotel stay includes breakfast, which included toasted bread, juice, fruits, bagels, etc. The hotel is not walking distance to anywhere, so driving is pretty much required for any lunch or dinner options. Overall, the stay was good. But remember that you’re essentially in the middle of nowhere.

Unfortunately, this is the ONLY hotel in the area. .for now. Parking was convenient. I booked for two nights and was told that a room with 2 queens wasn’t available for the second night(we were traveling with our kids so needed the second bed). Called several times and was told the hotel was booked, no queen room available the second night. Was told same thing when we checked in. The next morning, talked to the front desk and voila! they are able to keep us in the same room(after we were packed up and ready to move). Great. .except they never canceled the king room, and called me at 10 pm to see if we were checking in. My wife explained we were checked in. I checked with the desk the next morning and they charged us for the queen room and a no show fee on the king room. They canceled the no show fee, but it shouldn’t have been necessary for me to check and follow up to begin with. The guy at the desk seemed tired and irked. He was not at all apologetic or concerned that I had been charged(on my debit card nonetheless) the unnecessary fee. The hotel is undergoing remodeling, so the hallway smelled like something was burning. The rooms badly need remodeling and are worn. There is a free breakfast, but you get what you pay for. Horrible eggs, thawed out frozen breads and pastries, and food going unfilled when they run out of fresh fruit, bacon, and orange juice. If there is a choice, I would find another hotel next time. But for now, this is the only hotel in middletown.

This is the only hotel in Middletown. It was fully booked during my stay. The staff were helpful, room was clean but I find the drain in the shower and sink slow. Bed and pillows were comfy. There was a fridge and coffeemaker in room but no microwave. Though there is a microwave downstairs by the desk. There was free hot breakfast though and a selection of pastries, was not impressed though– they had biscuit and gravy, cheese omelette and sausage.

I been staying here every week for the last seven weeks on a business assignment. One good thing about Hampton Inn’s is they are the same everywhere, so you know exactly what to expect. The rooms are nice with good, quiet, well regulated AC systems. They have a complimentary breakfast which includes breads, pastries, cereals, oatmeal, juices, scrambled eggs and breakfast meats that vary from day to day. It’s OK, but the scrambled eggs are not the greatest. This Hampton has a nice exercise room, pool and Jacuzzi. Overall, a good place to stay for the price. One negative is the cable TV service is annoying. Several channels are not available and when you try to surf by them, the TV hangs up for a long time with annoying sounds coming at you. If you want a refrigerator in your room, ask the front desk and they will provide one.

Nice room and staff all around. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Location is right on the highway so it’s easy to get to. Breakfast here is pretty good for a free breakfast. I made sure I woke up in time to have it each day. Place fills up during the week so make sure you book in advance. I also had an issue with payment but i quickly pulled up my Credit Card statement on my laptop and she said no problem. I wasn’t charged. Other thoughts: Be sure to bring your pre-payment receipt!!! Roads in the area can be a little confusing. Waffle House is right across the street.

I stayed here in early December. I prepaid for the room online — this was my first mistake, I should have just made a transaction with the front desk directly. The hotel continued to charge me for a room and claimed that it was not prepaid. So now, I have been charged once by the online booking system, and again by the hotel. It is a month later and I have yet to see a refund. I have tried several occasions to speak with the manager about this. She will not return my messages. Sometimes she will have the front desk call me back but no such luck with a refund. Other than the terrible payment /management service incident, the room was pretty standard(except for the empty beer bottle on the window sill that the cleaning people must have overlooked). Pool was closed at the time, and the breakfast was lacking. There are probably better places to stay, but if you have to, I’d make the reservation directly with the front desk to avoid getting charged twice for your booking.

I’m basing this review off of my experience in the party room of this hotel. We stopped here because this is where my cousin decided to throw a sweet 16 for her daughter. My two interactions with staff of the hotel were not bad at all. I called the hotel before we left so I could find out for sure if they definitely had a bathroom available to change our clothes in. We didn’t want to wear our formal clothes while on a 3 to 4 hour drive from NY to here but we didn’t want to go to the party looking like bums either. The person I spoke to at the desk was informative and told me there would be a bathroom for us to change in. When we got there we asked at the front desk where the event room was and where the bathroom was, they were easy to find because it was pretty much right there upon entering the hotel. Underneath the hotel’s welcome sign, they posted«Happy Birthday Maria» for my cousin, I thought that was pretty awesome of them to do. The event room was nice, it wasn’t what I would call fancy but it was nice for an event room. The price to rent the event room was very cheap too, it was $ 500 for both rooms, if my cousin chose to have the party in one room it would have been only $ 250. The premises of the hotel looked very nice from what we saw. It did seem like it wouldn’t be a bad place to stay if we came back to Middletown, DE for some reason. It’s also the only hotel in Middletown, DE. I can’t comment on any food offerings from the hotel my cousin had the party food bought in from elsewhere. Overall from a party standpoint if you are in Delaware this is a good place to have one.

I don’t know why you would find yourself in Middletown, Delaware but if you do the Hampton Inn is a decent place to stay. Rooms are large and very well decorated for a mid-range business-style hotel. Bathroom is also quite big with a walk-in shower(no tub) and an oversized vanity. Fixtures and finishes(i.e. granite) were above what one would expect for this price-range. Maid service was efficient and toiletries were replaced each day once they had been opened(none of that expecting one to make do with an already opened soap!). Everything was spotless and well-kept. Free hot breakfast is always a plus; whilst not terrific, it was certainly edible and there were a lot of varying options. Free cookies at check-in(they clearly took a queue from their fellow Hilton sibling… Doubletree) were a nice touch.
