I love this place. well did until they decided to get rid of the restaraunt and only have weddings now! This was my go to place as soon as I crossed the Newport pell bridge before stopping at my friends vacation home… I never took part in all the outdoor stuff during the summer. only came in and sat at the bar ordered a drink a few stuffies and some good seafood. I will miss this place dearly

Best clam chowder and clam cakes I’ve ever had! I’m from the West Coast and was recommended to come by this place. Brought my 13 month old son and everyone was thrilled with him. Service was beyond amazing; incredibly nice waitress! Food was delicious and worth the price. Definitely a new fave for me!

Had dinner here this evening. The view alone rates the fourth star. We sat on the patio overlooking the ocean. Just beautiful. The bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and kalamata olives was a nice start. I had the Oceanic pasta. It was loaded with seafood — clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops. The seafood was cooked well and was delicious, but the white clam sauce was a little bland and salty. My companion had the fried clams which came with fries and coleslaw. The sides were average fare, but the clams were wonderful. Plump and fried perfectly. I would highly recommend them. Service was very good, efficient and friendly.

Great ambiance. Set up like a traditional club, with the bar on one side, family dining on the other and a large indoor/outdoor patio. Tubed space heaters help make outside dining especially pleasant in the evenings. I’d come here if you want to go out but not stay out too late, or if you want to impress grandma and grandpa. Food is pretty good(it didn’t wow me but it was still tasty). Felt that lobster was slightly overcooked because it had a rubbery feeling. Scrod was delicious but the«mashed» potatoes it comes with are neither mashed nor flavorful. Drinks were spot on. Beer was cold and old fashioned was smooth. I think staff make or break a dining experience, and in this case they made it. Sean was a very friendly server and chatted us up for a minute about our travels. We never had to ask for anything because the staff anticipated what we would need.

This review is for the service, I wouldn’t even give one star if I could walked in nobody cared to talked to us even though there was 100 waitress there, we talked to one of them and asked if we could just grab a seat she said yes… then we sat for 30 mins 2 waitresses came by to clean the table not one of them wanted to take our order, when I finally gave up on waiting I walked to one of the waitresses to ask for some service she kept saying«I don’t know who’s your waitress» with an attitude. i dont know how people give this place any stars …

Great location right on the beach! We went on a Sunday so the atmosphere was casual and perfect for a Sunday brunch. There was a live band on the patio which was pretty decent with a $ 5 cover so needless to say after 1:00pm it gets crowded, make a reservation!!! The brunch was average, basic hot spread with few choices but it was plentiful & the staff was awesome! The beauty of ABC is its right on the beach! We enjoyed a leisurely brunch and then headed down the beach for a few hours. It was awesome to have live music in the background and because we’d been there for brunch we didn’t have to pay for parking!!! Across the street it was $ 20!!! Alas, this will be the last year for ABC so I’ll be sad it won’t be there next year when we go!

If you like obnoxious frat parties and repetitive hip hop bleeding through the windows for ambience plus mediocre seafood then this is the perfect spot for you. On a Friday afternoon for lunch thats all you can hear. That outdoor tent bar must pay their bills because there isn’t much care given to anyone else there with an IQ over 90. Unfortunately I meant to go to the other Atlantic(Grille) up the street but ended up here by mistake. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this swollen livered STD fest and try Easton’s snack shack down the block. Food: clam chowder — luke warm, tasted only of cream and potato Quahog — basically some cheap sausage, bread and no other flavor. Also luke warm. Clam strips — just ok. Tartar sauce stinks.

Delicious Fisherman’s platter. We stopped in here on our way to Newport from Boston. We should’ve waited for a better option, but one of the girls we were with suggested this place. Great view of the beach with lots of outdoor seating, but we got a dreary day. Service could’ve been better, but it was really busy so it was understandable. Drinks were a good size and everyone was satisfied with their meals and beverages.

Staff was rude, drinks were weak and overpriced. Food looked like leftovers heated up on plastic plates. There are a lot of better places to check out in Newport, don’t waste your time here.

The best darn Fisherman’s platter I’ve ever had. Succulent scallops, shrimp, cod, and clams with bellies! Great fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce, as well. My daughter’s filet minion with red bliss potatoes was excellent, too. Very good end of the weekend meal.

Visit here for a work function with about 30 people. Service was very good considering the number of people we had. Orders at our table ranged from a wedge salad to lobster. Everything was very good. Only mistake of the night was one of our orders was for a gluten free broiled lobster. The lobster came out covered in bread crumbs. Waitstaff caught this just as the lobster was being served. A new lobster was brought out in just a few minutes. Because of their mistake they comped dessert, This is the type of service you expect.

Atlantic Beach Club and Pavilion is located on Purgatory Rd, right at the«neck» driving into Newport. This was a fitting end to a very nice trip to the Providence area to visit vendors for work. We drove down towards Newport Beach and took in the sights, then started looking for a good lunch spot. Unilocal provided several that all seemed to packed to enjoy so we ended up at the Atlantic Beach Club and Pavilion by default due to the availability of parking. I’m glad we did as we both enjoyed the experience. This place is huge and right off of the main drag coming across the inlet. It took just a few minutes to be seated outside where we aggregated with all the other tourists — yes this is a premium location with great views of the bay. It was still blindingly bright, even with the cirrus clouds hugging the sky’s zenith. There’s a fairly extensive menu but luckily a single page lunch menu was available and I saw something that I wanted to try. We began with drinks — I started with a very nice Long Trail Brewing India Pale Ale — this is an unfiltered craft with a good bit of hops and citrus and a fairly clean finish. For lunch I started with a very nice lobster bisque — it was certainly delicious. It was served with these Westminster Bakers Oyster Crackers which I pocketed for later. Sid went with a salad which he said was very tasty and refreshing. For the entrée I decided to go with the fish-and-chips as they promised, and delivered cod. I thought the tarter sauce a bit heavy but it did have the promised lemon and saltiness of added capers. The slaw was very good and creamy. Sid went with a side of macaroni and cheese, as there was a limited number of vegetarian options. I tasted and it was very good with a baked crust. Service was good but not great — lot’s of tables outside so it was a bit slow — also lots of intemperate and demanding tourists so I found nothing to fault. Our server was very knowledgeable in the food but knew squat about the beer(she did find someone to answered my questions). By the way, parking is free(appears to be unusual for this area). In all a very good lunch and good way to take in the day.

I saved this for my last dinner on the island, and it was well worth it! Very impressive appointments(right on the water) and the wait staff is very polite and attentive. I had the grilled swordfish and it was prepared magnificently. Not over cooked and flaky and scrupmtious. The salad was beautiful and the bread was fresh. I would recommend this establishment to all for fresh delicious seafood and a delightful staff!

FREE parking if your going to eat here. That’s a huge peak season bonus because the average parking price is $ 20. I called ahead to see if they could accommodate a group of 10 without a reservation. I was told that they offer a variety of lunch options. If we decided to sit inside, a reservation was required. If we were interested in a more casual setting with a limited menu, the outside seating. No reservation required. I was also told that if we arrived before 1p, we wouldn’t have to pay the $ 5 cover charge for the band(UNFORTUNATELYTHATWAS A LIE). The guy at the door told me they started charging at 11a. I was not upset, because we sat at the last table right on the beach and had a perfect view of the ocean while we had lunch. I have to give it to our waitress. This place was packed and she was wonderful, despite the craziness. The 3 stars were given because some of the meals that were ordered were not so tasty. I cannot complain about my meal. I ordered the clam chowder, which was velvety and full of fresh clams. I also ordered a lobster roll. It was cold and refreshing. The bun was larger than a standard hotdog bun and had a little bite to it. The portion was just right. The wifey ordered the seafood platter. nOT so good. As we had lunch we listed to a house band, which added to our experience. I would definitely come to this place again.

Very disappointing! We came here with very high expectations. they are located in a beautiful setting, right on the beach near the Cliffwalk, and within view of the Breakers and other Bellevue Mansions. Our evening started when the hostess was unable to seat us because she had to watch the woman rifling through the t-shirt and sweatshirt case examining the size of every object inside. The hostess told us she could not leave until the lady was done looking at the shirts, but we could seat ourselves if we wanted(classy!). Once seated, it took a good 5 or 6 minutes for a server to take our drink order… that would be the last time we saw her for a while!(Cue dark music) The bartender brought out the bottle of champagne we ordered. Poured it. Then he had to go dump out the water from the ice bucket because the waitress filled it to the top, leaving no room to place the bottle without spilling. Two glasses of champagne later(about 25 minutes) our order was taken. We got the raw bar sampler, Bouillabaisse, and New England Lobster boil. The raw bar was fine, not nearly as good as the oysters we had tried at the four other places on our trip(yeah, we kinda became obsessed with oysters). The shrimp were huge and tasty. The bouillabaisse had a nice broth, but the seafood was very overcooked. The New England Lobster boil had only one good component, the Lobster. That was tasty and well cooked, the only other thing properly cooked was the potatoes. It seemed like they threw everything in at the same time. The corn was cooked to mush. included in the sausage was a hot dog, breakfast sausage link, and a small piece of chorizo that was so over-boiled that I could barely cut it with a knife. In addition, there were clams(longneck steamers) with siphons sandier than any I have ever had. It seemed as though they were not soaked and washed at all. To add insult to injury, as we were walking out, the busboy walked right through the door and slammed it in my girlfriend’s face, when she was expecting him to hold it open for her. I would rank the food as mediocre to average, and the service poor. We will not be returning.

This place is unreal — on the patio. No problem paying the $ 5 cost, you’re paying for an awesome club/beach experience for all ages that you can’t find many places. But the hostess on the inside is so unbelievably rude that it takes 2 stars away. It the type I place where people are walking freely from beach to deck to inside bar. There’s a way more polite and hospitable way to let people know they can’t come in with a sarong or wrap on without shouting«YOUCANTCOMEINHERELIKETHAT» in front of other people and embarrassing your guest. Perhaps a sign on the door that states it? –since you are, in fact, a «beach club» and it might not be clear to some? We went to the outdoor bathroom and immediately encountered 4 other girls who were asking, what the hell was the deal with that hostess? Anyway, keep up the good work patio of ABC, but your indoor hostesses don’t know the definition of hospitality or subtlety and are bringing you down.

We should’ve left when we were first sent to a different parking lot, and then asked for $ 5 apiece to eat lunch on a Saturday at 1pm. Seriously? No thanks… we’ll sit inside for free. We were seated in the large empty dining rom right next to another table… a bit awkward. The waitress came over quickly to take our drink orders, and those came over quickly. The iced tea was good… that’s where the positive ends. I ordered the Mediterranean salad as a starter, and my boyfriend got a bowl of chowder. I tasted the chowder, and it was really rich, though a little salty. My salad did not have any dressing on it, and I spent 10 minutes staring at our waitress and the other servers sitting at a booth chatting. Super unprofessional. When she finally came over, I asked her if I could please have the dressing that came on the salad. Was I sure there was no dressing on it already? Yes… I’m sure. I got the dressing, and our food came out 2 minutes later. My boyfriend’s swordfish sandwich came on white toast, and look dry and unappetizing. Done right swordfish does not need much more than salt and pepper… this swordfish was not done right. It was bland and overlooked. I had the sirloin tips sandwich on focaccia. The bread was so hard I have tiny cuts on my mouth, the«marinated» steak was definitely not marinated, and the bacon onion jam was maybe a half teaspoon if that. Not enough to add to the sandwich. The Swiss cheese made the sandwich look like it had been microwaved, it wasn’t creamy at all. Since I ordered my meat well done, I wouldn’t be surprised if it had been microwaved before going on the bread… it was that tough. Ketchup, though from bottles with old black ketchup filling the lid, was the only thing that salvaged this sandwich. Oh, and the fries… the fries were good. Our bill came to over $ 60. Luckily we had $ 40 worth of gift cards. We will NOT be back. Ever. And now that I’m writing this, I’m angry all over again that the bouncers tried to charge us a cover to eat lunch! These people are taking advantage of their patrons for sure.

Came here for lunch with my parents one day since none of us had been over to ABC in quite some time. It wasn’t very busy for a lunch crowd(most likely because it was still off season and the weather that day wasn’t too great). We had a great table with a nice view of the water. All of us ordered sandwiches and our server was very promp and it didn’t take long for our food to arrive. I had the Third Beach, which is their version of a tuna club. It was a good sandwich, especially with the bacon on it and it was not overly dressed with mayo. My parents also agreed that their sandwiches were quite good as well. Overall it was a good dining experience. Everyone left satisfied, we had good service and the prices seemed to be adequate. I was definitely intrigued by the lobster salad roll on their menu as well(might have to pop back in again sometime this summer to give it a try).

Atlantic Beach Club We had a work dinner with a group of about 30. I ordered the Seafood Sampler. Honestly, for the money I didn’t think it was all that great. The best part of the meal was probably was the bread. Prior to having dinner some of us had some drinks at the bar. I wasn’t drinking and glad I didn’t have one because the fruit contained rep with the garnishes looked REALLY bad. The olives were brown and the fruit was dried out.
